Samsung :: Galaxy S Vibrant Swype Not Working
Aug 9, 2010Hi I just picked up the Galaxy S Vibrant last friday and can not seem to get the swype function to work. I looked into the setting and see that the keypad sweep is on however do not see the swype function on the qwert key pad. Am I missing something here? Do I need to install swype keypads?

Feb 22, 2012I have Gingerbread UGKG2. When I first started swyping I'll admit I didn't really know what I was doing. I'd correct a word and if it said "would you like to add 'es' to the dictionary" (or whatever I had typed in) I just said yes. Now it keeps putting in these non-words and I can't get rid of them. I've seen the threads where people point out where the dictionary is found in other O/S's but not this one. I've also seen people post that you just highlight the word and you'll have the option of deleting it from the dictionary, no so on my phone..

Jul 3, 2011I found many games include: greedy pigs, catoon defense 2, battle heart, etc ... (I purchased from android market) will randomly freeze during the game play if I turn on the sound! However, if I turn off the sound (I mean turn off the sound option in game, not mute the media volume), then all games runs without any problem.
Not every game will have this problem. For example, angry birds, finding difference, air attack, etc... No problem at all. It looks to me that most of defence games and real time strategy games are in this case. It's just the game itself freezed, not the whole system. I can still use "home" to go back to the main screen then kill the game app.
I'm using vodafone version s2 and already updated to the lastest firmware.

May 8, 2015I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S5 (sm-g900f). Sometimes the screen just freeze, and grey lines appears (as in this picture goo.gl/qIdGg7 ).
The main button and the power still working, as I can see the white light turning on and off as usual after pressing them.
And after click the power button once (which turn off the display), the screen remains black.
The phone is actually still working, as I can ear it ringing or receiving messages and email.
But I cant do anything, just take off the battery and restart it. I already reset it and the problem keeps happen again.

Dec 12, 2011I've been trying to take advantage of googles 10p app promotion but it seems that for any app I buy I get stuck at the "starting download" screen. This is the first time I've tried buying an app and its just not working. I can download free apps from the Market just fine, its just the paid apps that are giving me grief! I've googled about and tried the "clear cache" from Market app and "clear data" from download manager but it just doesn't work!
Rooted GS2 on standard O2 firmware connecting via wifi.
Galaxy S6 :: Swype Autocorrect Option
Apr 21, 2015So, simple question, is there, or is there not a way to turn off auto-correct on the S6, for the Swype keyboard?
My title is as it is because, no matter how concise your search is, on here, or on google, searching ANYTHING for turning off autocorrect will give you results for every other device in the universe but the s6.
The menu is different, the settings are different, there is no "auto-complete" in the menu...the way you do it s5 and prior does NOT apply. Turning off some other option, like the auto-predict, auto-capitolize, etc, etc...does NOT work.

Jan 28, 2010basically paid a website to get the unlock codes ,gave them the network the phone was on and the IMEI numbers, got the codes no problem about 4 days ago had not had time to put the codes in there still unused when all of a sudden today the phone went blank and froze after 5 mins it came back to life instead of dispaying Tesco mobile which the phone is locked to is said unlimited i thought great the websites unlocked it for me, i put an o2 sim in it came up o2 network thought great its worked then realised even tho the o2 sim is in the phone is still using the mobile numer from the tesco sim card how is this possible ? any ideas whats happened far as i knew u ordered the codes online they give you them then its up to you to install them, is it possible for the website to have done something? as i have not entered one single code into my phone all i did was send them the IMEI number and pay for it that was it never ever used the codes?

Jul 6, 2015For the second time, my galaxy s6 screen seem to be frozen. When it happens, I see a blue bar moving up and down on the screen. I can reset the phone by holding power and volume down button but it doesn't fix it, the phone is still frozen after the reboot.
I can't power down the phone completely since the screen doesn't allow me to hit the Power Off option! All button seem to be working fine.

Sep 22, 2015one week ago i installed OTA 5.1.1' but it's not the new with the new icons, and i am having some issues with it, the phone lags in the settings app for the first couple of seconds, when someone call me and i slide the green circle to the right the in-call screen appears but the phone freeze for two seconds and then return to the screen you see when someone calling you again....sometimes i have to slide it 3 times to answer the call, i didn't have these issues in 5.1.1, now the question is for those who have the newest 5.1.1, do you have these issues??

May 26, 2015About 5 times now, when I double tap the home button to open the camera, the phone vibrates and the viewfinder "distorts". By distorts, the best way I can describe it, is think of the surface of a lake and a slight breeze creating tiny waves. This lasts for about 3 to 8 seconds and then all is fine. Or, if I don't want to wait, I can go home and come back to the camera. Also there seems to be a slight audio tone like a "hmmmmmm" but I can't tell if it's actual audio out of the speaker or from the material of the phone because of the vibrating. It has only happened about 5 times, this just started 3 days ago and it seems to be happening more frequently.

For a couple of weeks now I have noticed that my email has started to sync my junk mail. I will get notifications, i.e. It will say I have 10 emails, 5 important, 5 junk. When I go in to my email it will only show the 5 important ones in my inbox.
Is there anyway to turn off notifications for junk mail?
Other things you may need to know;
- I'm using MS Exchange Server (for my hotmail account).
- I haven't recently updated my OS.
Galaxy S5 :: Login Pattern Prevents Car Mode Starting Up - What To Do
Dec 4, 2015I thought this was just an issue with the Samsung Galaxy S5 Car Mode. So I downloaded a third party app, Car Home Ultra, and set it up. And it does the same thing.
When the phone detects the bluetooth connection, it tries to start car mode. But it seems that if I don't pick up the phone and enter my login pattern car mode doesn't fully load.
So the voice controls don't work. Now I'm going 100km/h down the highway and the thing isn't working until I enter a pattern.
Similarly, if I go for a short trip, because it doesn't fully load, when I get out of the car, it is still in this half-loaded state so a phone call comes in and I miss it because it is still trying to talk to my long-gone bluetooth connection.
Is there a way to fix this so car mode can fully load but I still have security on the phone?

Dec 14, 2014I noticed recently there was a youtube update. I'm seeing whenever I reboot or turn on my phone that the youtube app automatically starts up. It shows on my active apps widget. But it does not physically start up in a window though. If I go to the running apps screen in the application manager, it says that youtube is running the offlinefiletransfer service.
Is there anyway to disable this?
