Samsung Galaxy S II :: Outlook Email (not Contacts Etc) Not Syncing?
Aug 14, 2011
I've just got my new Galaxy S2 and am quite impressed. From mucking about with it, I've sync'd all my Gmail and Yahoo accounts without issue. Then, I tried to sync my Outlook account, but it keeps failing? My outlook is my own privtae Outlook (Pop3) account from home - so not on a work server or network. I've entered all the details, passwords, pop & smtp, etc. but it won't work?nyone got any ideas on how I can complete this? I want to pick up my Outlook emails on the go as it's my main contact email for business and 1000's of people have this address. (Not worried about my contacts or anything just yet, I can always merge these to a Gmail account, but I'm lost without my email.
I'd like to send (and then keep synched) all my SGS2 contacts (including their email addresses) to Outlook 2003 on my PC. Sounds easy, eh?
Well, it works (over Bluetooth as well as USB), but somehow only the phone number(s) and some other details (postal address, company etc.) are stored in Outlook - but NOT the email addresses of my contacts!
IS it a known limitation? Is it due to the old version of Outlook? Is there a work-around?
Kies 3 always crashes with an "Unknown Error" when trying to sync my Outlook 2007 calendar. Contacts and Tasks sync okay.
I've literally spent hours on the phone with Samsung (lack of) technical support with no resolution. They are in fact blaming Outlook claiming that this "Unknown Error" is an Outlook error and not a Kies 3 error (I doubt that). Their other suggestion is a factory reset on the phone which I don't want to do or to try another PC.
Using Windows 7 Pro, latest updates to Kies 3 and latest firmware updated today on the phone.
i have issues trying to connect my sg 11 to my parrot bluetooth in my van,ive had many phones which have connected no probs and synced my contacts to straight away, even my iphone worked hassle free,i've just upgraded to a nice shiney galaxy 2,which is excellent i must say, just 1 gripe,it will connect to my parrot, but i cant sync my contacts,so no phone book access
I'm considering purchasing this phone (Samsung Galaxy S2) when it comes available on Sunday 4 October on the AT&T network. I've never had a smart phone before, so I'm clearly a bit behind the times. My current Sony Ericsson w810i phone lets me sync my contacts and calendar from Microsoft Outlook 2010 with my phone. Am I to understand that Android wants to sync everything with Google (Gmail)? I really don't want Google to have all my contacts and my calendar entries--they get enough of my personal data as it is. So, can this phone sync directly with MS Outlook without providing data to "the cloud"? IF yes, how is it accomplished? Via Kies software over wi-fi or USB cable? Or does it require additional software?
syncing of outlook 2003 with the SGS2.I am using Outlook 2003 and am about to get a SGS2 and need to sync the contacts and calendar is there a way of doing this directly from PC to phone without Google or servers and stuff?
I use Microsoft Outlook and also Outlook in Mobile. My question is: how can I do that email will disappear from the server in Outlook on my computer automatically when I delete an email from my phone?
I want to sync my Outlook contacts with my HTC One but so far have not been able to do so. I tried HTC Sync with no luck, Any good (and not to complicated way) to get my contacts from Outlook to my phone?
I have the BB Curve 8530. A long time ago this once worked and I had 126 contacts on my cell and in outlook. 2 crashed laptops later I have never been successful to get those 126 contacts back in Outlook. I have 2 email accounts set up on my Blackberry. I have tried deleting the service book, deleting and reinstalling the BB Desktop Software and it will only sync the contacts from my gmail account (26 entries) and not the one from my verizon (126 entries)
Is RIM going to fix the problem with latest device update? With the newest update,it kills the syncing of contacts with Outlook. I had to down grade just to get it working again. Gives my a pause when thinking about getting the Playbook, "Will I have issues since I can't upgrade my device?" Rim doesn't seem to have a solution for this, Verizon doesn't have a solution (except to send you a replacement phone)
I never had this problem before. I was syncing my torch contacts with outlook. No problem. Then I upgraded the torch. No I no longer have a default contact list, only AT&T phonebook. I am no longer able to sync with outlook. I can even figure out how to create a different contact list and make it default.
have an iPhone 3GS and 'upgraded' to iTunes 9.1 yesterday. My PC uses Windows XP running Outlook 2003. Ever since the download I can no longer sync my contacts or calendar. I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes, turned my computer off, reset the Sync history in iTunes and now restored the iPhone - still to no avail. Does anyone have any clues?
When I update/change a contact on my iPhone 4 the change shows on iCloud but doesn't download to my computer Outlook 2010. I don't have this problem with the calendar.
I just recently upgraded my Xoom to ICS and linked it up to my companies Outlook using Active Exchange. Everything is working fine except for syncing my contacts. I have subfolders under my Contacts folder (e.g. Work, Personal, etc.) that are not visible/syncing. Is there a way either within the native e-mail client or an app that will let me sync the contacts subfolders? I do not want to root the Xoom. My iPhone does this natively but I'm not sure that ICS can.
I have recently acquired a BB Bold 9700 on the Rogers network. This is the third BB I have used, but it's the first time I have been without IT support from my employer (I work as a contractor).I have three email addresses coming in to my BB, but the one that's my personal email from Shaw.I have MS/Office Outlook and the most recent version of the BB Desktop software on my laptop. I can synch my calendar and my contacts, but I don't even get an option to synch my email or file email in folders on my BB. In fact, the option doesn't even show on the BB desktop software.....Is my problem with Shaw, or is the problem with the BB desktop software?
I downloaded the new software for my iPhone 4S, it has stopped syncing my calendar and contacts with my home Outlook. Any new contacts or events I enter into Outlook won't show up on my phone and any new contacts or events I enter in my phone won't show up with Outlook. I use the USB port to sync every few days with my computer. Nothing has been erased, i.e. all my old events and contacts are still there, but nothing new will add. I have not changed any settings on my phone or on itunes, and I even turned off the overall calendar option and selected single calendars to try, but to no avail.
I entered my old email on my samsung s6 and want to use my new one with a new account, but it says i may lose my contacts, which i strongly dont want to, and i also want to keep all the pictures i have, is there any way to change samsung account without losing contacts and pictures?
I am trying to sync organizer data with MS Outlook and cannot select either "Contacts" or "Calendar" on the Desktop Software Organizer tab...it says "syncing wirelessly"...
My Outlook stores multiple contacts for the same person automatically (one with an email address only, one with a phone number only, etc.). When my iPhone syncs with the cloud it stores those multiple contacts and makes it frustrating to look up one person's number and email under separate entries. How do I prevent my iPhone from storing the duplicate contacts?
I'm trying to get Outlook for Mac 2011 calendar on my MacBook running Snow Leopard to show up on my new iPhone. Connected by USB, through iTunes. iTunes says it is syncing calendar, but nothing shows up on the iPhone calendar.
Info: iPhone 4S, Mac OS X (10.7.4), Outlook for Mac 2011 14.2.2
I have a new Razr Maxx and my email and calendar are syncing with my office Outlook account, but I can't get the contacts to sync. They were loaded originally (at the Verizon Wireless store) off of my old phone, but they will not sync.
