but when i go to update it it then says there isn't an update available

Nov 24, 2015With Do Not Disturb turned on, all of my notifications are kept quiet, screen doesn't turn on, no vibration - except one app. Facebook still comes through. I keep my S6 on vibrate at night, so it's not that big of a deal (other than draining battery). But the blue flashing LED is annoying and lights up the whole room. Is there anyway to set Facebook quiet hours or something similar? Or set it so it will play nice with Do Not Disturb? I also think the Google Photo assistant does the same. I don't really care if Google has put together a slide show of my vacation in the middle of the night.

Oct 22, 2011Just bought S2. First smart phone; choose the S2 rather than iPh.
Live just outside London and would like to use my S2 to play programs provided on BBC iPlayer. My S2 came with a BBC iPlayer icon available straight out of the box. When I click the bbc iplayer icon it displays a program that the bbc iPlayer site is promoting (the Graham Norton show in this instance). Firstly I'd like to play any program from iPlayer but when for example I click on Graham Norton show nothing happens but a message shows on the s2 (within the BBC app) stating "Please switch to Wi-Fi connection to play this program" - note: from the settings screen on the S2 I have wi-fi set on (I am also at home, where other devices are using my home wi-fi).

May 15, 2011Just updated via Samsung Apps the camera firmware to a CDE11 or something version. Took 4 minutes to update and flash this firmware. I wonder what exactly it changed in the camera firmware? Hopefully improved things or bug fixes.I will test a few videos and see if the bitrate has changed or not.

It feels like you really need to press down on the power button to get the shut down menu to show up.If i don't press down hard enough or right, the shut down menu shows up then it locks and the lock screen shows up. it's quite straight forward, and I don't remember having to hold down the power button for that long for it to shut down.

Aug 22, 2011So I live in Sweden and bough my phone in June. Had KE2 on it and wanted to update to KE7 with Kies but it wasn't available at the time, so I used a guide on this site to update it manually through odin.
Anyway after that I went away to a place with no good internet connection for 2 months and didn't really keep up to date with this site. Now I'm back home and want to root this phone to improve battery life and get the wiimote app to work.
1A. Since I updated to KE7 using Odin, and not Kies, is it dangerous to root the phone?
1B. Do I need to debrand and update through Kies if a new update is available?
2. Will the Wiimote app work if I root the phone?
3. Is there a guide to follow on what to avoid after rooting so I don't brick the phone?

Nov 21, 2012I'm trying to update my SE Xperia Mini Pro (SI 1249-0767) to ICS. According to the SI-list, the update should be available for my phone. However, both PC Companion and Update Service say my phone is running the latest version (which is version 2.3.4 and build 4.0.2.A.0.62 according to the "About the phone" menu). I've also tried to run the "repair" option of PCC, but that neither gives the update.

May 25, 2012I updated both Iphone 4's to 5.1.1. and now whether related or not both phones are wonky dropping WIFI in the house. It comes on and off when it pleases. I looked at the time capsule for WIFI settings and all seems fine. My Ipad2 works fine and AppleTV gen2 works fine just both Iphones. My network shows up in the WIFI list and when I touch to log in it says network is unavailable.

Aug 11, 2012i just got an Nokia N8 from a friend of mine, and i wanted to fully update it, but whenever i try to update it to Belle it gives an error saying "Nokia update suite service is unavailable", sometimes it reaches 119/124 mb, or 95/100 mb or 21/26 mb and then i get the error.and sometimes it reaches 124/124, 100/100, 26/26 mb but it then says "5000 minutes left to finish download" it stays at that point for about a minute and then i get the above mentioned error.if it matters the phone is from another country than my own.i searched all over the nokia discussions forum and i saw there were numerous similar posts, i did everything it was suggested there but it still hasnt worked.
so how can i get the belle update?

Aug 27, 2012my samsung galaxy s2 broke down on me a week ago. How this happened was that I saw the ota update being available for downloading so I proceeded to download the update. Now, when it got the update and it automatically started to install, The phones battery died (inthe middle of the installation). when i charged it up and turned it on an error message comes up after the samsung logo saying the package installer got an error and now wont let me use the phone at all ( it freezes up after the message). I tried restarting it but the same thing happened. the phone is now unusable. i visited a phone stor asking if they could repair it but no, they couldnt. what to do? send the phone in/swap it out?

Samsung Galaxy S II :: No Blacklist On ICS Update?
Aug 21, 2012Back before this update, i blacklisted a couple numbers from calling me. Simply by long pressing contact in phonebook and choosing add to blacklist. After the update, i am unable to access the blacklist to remove these numbers so they are not able to contact me. I've tried settings>call settings and that's as far as i get since there is no rejection list or anything of the sort. I've tried deleting the contacts thinking that would fix it but no help. Did the blackest just disappear with the update? Im stuck and extremely frustrated. Will a factory reset fix this (meaning clear the blacklist ) or am i just really screwed?

1 Pink spot on camera that wasnt there before
2 My phonebook keeps crashing and my buddy widgets for the phonebook also resets
3 SMS crashes as well
I thought it was suppost to be a fix. If i had known this would happen i wouldnt have upgraded the firmware!

This i have done several times but the same thing happens every time.

Oct 7, 2011I accepted doing it, so it backed-up some of my data and started the installation. The progress bar remained at 0% for more than 40 minutes and I became suspicious that it was not working. I tried interrupting with the cancel button and that didn't work, so the only way was to remove the cable (yes there were warnings not to do it... still I assumed that this scenario would have been foreseen). Kies woke up with the interruption and asked if I wanted to do an emergency firmware recovery, I said yes and proceeded with it. It gave me some instructions to switch off the phone, replace battery, and remove the cable. I switched the phone off and on again and there appeared a symbol representing the loss of connection to the PC, so I re-connected. The recovery started fine, but half way through it, it failed due to a problem on the phone. Since then the phone is dead. It won't start anymore.

Jun 4, 2012I wanted to update to ICS Android 4.0 on my Orange branded S2 NFC. I was told by Orange support to download Kies. I did, had a few problems getting the phone to connect to the software including a few driver crashes. After it finally connected, it offered me ICS which I accepted. But every time I have downloaded the update it then fails saying "Failed to run firmware upgrade. Unknown error occurred."
I have uninstalled kies and the driver from my PC (windows 7 home premium 32bit) and reinstalled to no effect. Turned off the phone, taken out the battery, turned off wi-fi and data.
If it wasn't for the fact the orange "signal boost" app has been quite useful in my dead zone of a flat I would root the phone and unbrand it and download the update off the net.
Samsung Galaxy S II :: Music Library Won't Update
Jul 15, 2011I'm looking for a decent music player and have tried several apps out, but in the process I decided I didn't like my music files being in /sdcard/media/music as I'd loaded 'em initially... So I moved them to /external_sd/music, only to find some apps wouldn't allow me to access the external card...
So I moved them all back, to /sdcard/music/ now, and only ONE app out of three will actually find and play them. The other apps are convinced all my old files still exist, no matter how many times I verify that both the SD card and internal SD memory have had those files removed.
So it seems that there's some sort of internal OS-level library or database of my music files that's not being refreshed no matter how many times I reboot the phone or rescan all my libraries. I can find the new files fine, select them in a file browser and play them with any installed music app (so I know it's POSSIBLE for them to see the files!) but they simply won't add them to their library or delete the old ones.
