Okay. I'll see if this posts. I am using Android 2.1 and AT&T told me I could "easily" upgrade to Android 4 using KEIS. I downloaded the program, updated to Version 2.3.2.12074_13. Installed okay. I connected and got the message "device not supported by KEIS 2."
I've been noticing my battery draining pretty fast. I've had the phone just over a month and days when I'm at work all day, maybe do some surfing on my lunch or breaks, but nothing to excessive and my battery is down to like 35% when I get home. Before I was going under Settings->Battery and I noticed "Screen" was the number one offender for draining my battery. Which makes sense, it's a bright display and powering it takes a lot of juice. I don't know if it's coincidence or not, however, it's when I started noticing it after installing ICS. Now "Android OS" has replaced it at the top, by a LOT. Here is a list of my top five
Whenever I try to run the android update it says "Searching for server" then report, "Server connection failure". This goes running though either wireless or 3g connection. The SII works fine downloading/uploading everything/everywhere else and on any connection, it has me baffled. It has worked before as it did a couple of updates when I first bought this really great phone!
I have SGS2 Android 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich) updated via kies.
In the contacts app, Im sure there used to be a way where by if you were syncing your facebook account, status updates and media would appear in the contact (In Contacts). This doesnt appear to be the case anymore.
I've just had the latest firmware update on my SG2, the new ICS. how I go about rooting my SGS2? I want to use some apps that's only for a rooted SGS2.I don't want to change any firmwares or themes or whatever as I'm happy with ICS, just need to root it.
Can I use my PC/Mac to buy and install an application from the Android Market? If so is their an idiot sheet on how to get the app off the computer and onto the SGS2?
The reason I ask is that I'd rather use my computer to buy an application rather than use my phone.
I recently bought a SGSII. I can access market (Android) and navigate each pages to see various apps. I really don't know how to search for a particular application in that Android market. I am not able to see any search options available.
i just bought my galaxy s2 skyrocket a little over a week ago and its been working great. But now i just tried going to the android market and it said the app is not installed... i powered my phone off then on and now the app is gone! how to download/install the market place again? I have a mac btw, idk if that matters or not
I've been using the version of Android that came with my S2 for about a year. I use Keis and it managed to copy my Contacts and Schedule from my Office 2003 on my PC and it was fine on the S2.I upgraded to Android 4 this morning. The Schedule looks fine. The Contacts look fine apart from the fact that the Addresses read from bottom up - post code, town, street, house number.
I've recently received a new samsung galaxy s6 with android 5.1.1 installed on it. first day everything went well no problems whatsoever, second day, i started to bump into some wifi issues which are now really pissing me off!
So the thing is, whenever i turn on wifi, 90% of the time, i can't find any connections. NONE! maybe after 10 minutes of leaving my phone i finally found one, and it isn't even my home connection.. I've been connected to my home wifi. And when i finally am connected the internet is so slow, i'd rather go back to my windows 98 pc and search via internet explorer, make the pc crash 5 times and still load the page faster than my cellphone.
Never had KIES installed, my usb ports work fine, I tested them, my cable works fine. checked the Media Device (MTP) still doesn't work... deleted and re-installed AFT multiple times, i still get the "Could not connect to device. Try reconnecting or restarting your device"
I'm trying to find a program or app that recovers deleted videos on the internal storage of an android device. I've found one that recovers photos only, but no go on video recovery so far. I am unable to root as it is a Verizon S5 and the only available root methods require a destructive root. My cloud service did not have time to upload it before it was deleted, so all I have is a corrupt file. I have Dr.fone, but it stays stuck at 90%. Recuva doesn't recognize the device as a searchable drive.
I am trying to extend battery life and kill some native apps. One that shows as a big battery drain is Geo News but I can't find the app to uninstall it. When I go to the Play Store it only gives me the option to install it. This is on my Galaxy S5 which I've had since November and the last couple of weeks I've been going through the battery huge. Trying to follow all the advice here to delete and disable, but so far not terribly successful.
When I try to clear the browser history the program crashes. I have tried a couple of apps from the Market but neither of them have worked.
I have tried, unsuccessfully, to locate the history cache in the filing system.
P.S. I can delete history links one at a time. Is it just that I have allowed the cache to get too large before trying to delete it - I'm not sure I have ever cleared it before!
Just wondering, does anybody find on the s2 that the soft back key doesn't always respond? I'm sometimes having to tap mine several times before it responds and it's driving me bonkers.
Also, I have noticed that the android os is high on this phone and the strange thing is, the percentage seems to go up when the phone isn't actually being used for anything, as in, sat idle for a few hours. Just wondering what the average percentage should actually be with this phone.
My battery life is rubbish too. Thursday and Friday, it was fine but I didn't use the phone much at all. Today it was fine until 6pm, again, didn't really use the phone but this evening, I have been texting and it dropped 40% in three hours and I've had to put it on charge.
I'm not happy with this and will be contacting Samsung on Monday but before I do, would be interested to hear what other people are experiencing with the android os and back key. Battery life is more or less irrelevant as that varies from person to person according to usage. I'm just disappointed as I seldom had to charge my galaxy s before bedtime unless I tethered, which I hadn't done today until I had to put the phone on charge.
Don't have the new phone yet, but knowing one is symbian and the other android I want to make sure there's an easy way to do it since I have more than 300 phone numbers that I need to keep.
I've been trying to take advantage of googles 10p app promotion but it seems that for any app I buy I get stuck at the "starting download" screen. This is the first time I've tried buying an app and its just not working. I can download free apps from the Market just fine, its just the paid apps that are giving me grief! I've googled about and tried the "clear cache" from Market app and "clear data" from download manager but it just doesn't work!
Rooted GS2 on standard O2 firmware connecting via wifi.
How do I stop my contact photos appearing in Gallery on SGSII/Android 2.3.3? I know from various sites that you can add a ".NoMedia" file to any folder and it will apparently prevent it from displaying in Gallery, but I can't find the actual folder location in My Files where the contact photos are stored, so that I can put this file there - and I can't find this info on ANY web sites. Is the .nomedia thing the only way to stop this? Also, is it possible to uninstall / remove access to Gallery if I install another photo/video manager app?
Just updated via Samsung Apps the camera firmware to a CDE11 or something version. Took 4 minutes to update and flash this firmware. I wonder what exactly it changed in the camera firmware? Hopefully improved things or bug fixes.I will test a few videos and see if the bitrate has changed or not.
I have two Galaxy 5 phones - one downloaded and installed the AT&T update fine. The other downloaded the update, then rebooted to install, which it started to do, but five or so seconds into it, it stopped and went directly to the home page with no install. OF course, now I have to wait another 24 hours to re-try the download (and whoever came up with THAT i24-hour thing should be fired). Is there a way to just directly install what was downloaded without having to wait the half-hour or so it took to download?
I am using a galaxy s5 running on android 5.0 and i cant update to the latest version. So I was thinking can i update using an sd card by downloading the os into the sdcard and from there updating is that possible?
I have an AT&T Galaxy S5 that runs kit-kat. I got the phone unlocked to use with a different carrier. When i try to update the OS it says its up to date. How can I update to Lollipop 5?
