I have an AT&T Galaxy S5 that runs kit-kat. I got the phone unlocked to use with a different carrier. When i try to update the OS it says its up to date. How can I update to Lollipop 5?
View 1 RepliesBefore the latest update, most of my apps were organized into folders and some of these folders were placed on the home screens. After the updates, some of the folders are "gone" not only from the home screen but from the apps area. I can see the apps if I go into App Manager, but I cannot open them from there. So I currently cannot find any way to open many apps that I previously downloaded (and app manager says I still have). Strangely, this only happened with some apps and folders but not all . What do I need to do to regain access to these apps?

View 1 Replies View RelatedDuring the last six months of so the problems with the hires camera in my SGS2 have turned from being just really annoying to fatal. Earlier, my camera or the firmware/software had poor abilities to focus the picture correctly giving blurry and random results. Later on, the saving or processing of the photos right after shooting were stopped by crashing of the samsung Camera software. This happened by camera app giving error message and then shutting down itself. Finally, after the firmware update (I9100XWLPG) about a week ago the camera has totally stopped working. The application shows no live picture and crashes after 10-15 sec. I cannot access the settings and the only thing the application does is that it turns the icons on screen along with the rotation of the phone.

The other downloaded the update, then rebooted to install, which it started to do, but five or so seconds into it, it stopped and went directly to the home page with no install. OF course, now I have to wait another 24 hours to re-try the download (and whoever came up with THAT i24-hour thing should be fired). Is there a way to just directly install what was downloaded without having to wait the half-hour or so it took to download?

View 2 Replies View Relatedi have a htc one x and recently the phone updated its android firmware, as a result the user interface has changed and i do not like it, was wandering if you guys knew how i can reset the firmware to its condition few days prior to the update? its an awesome phone and liked the interface as it was. for example before the update on the main menu when you scroll through the three tabs All, Frequent and Downloads, you would see the tabs change in 3D now its not like that.
i've tried resetting it to factory condition but asides from losing all the contacts, apps and personal stuff, the interface is still the new one since the update.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have xeperia X8 since 1 yr. just recently found out that I have android version 1.6. so wanted to upgrade it to android 2.1 or higher. saw few threads & found that after backing up phone data I can run PC software & the software installer will update it to Android 2.1 but when i click on support zone > software update in pc companion, it says "your phone has already updated software". I dont know why its showing that & not downloading the android version. Should I update the PC companion software also?

Then it will take you to a phone encryption screen and the encryption reboots the phone, but then keeps looping. I do have an exchange account and our company requires to have encryption on the phone. I just installed the Nine Exchange and it is working without any issues, but how can I fix the other way I access email?

I've had the phone just over a month and days when I'm at work all day, maybe do some surfing on my lunch or breaks, but nothing to excessive and my battery is down to like 35% when I get home. Before I was going under Settings->Battery and I noticed "Screen" was the number one offender for draining my battery. Which makes sense, it's a bright display and powering it takes a lot of juice. I don't know if it's coincidence or not, however, it's when I started noticing it after installing ICS. Now "Android OS" has replaced it at the top, by a LOT. Here is a list of my top five

I try to update my android after my phone told me to update it. So after it make restart, its opening black screen with galaxy s5 on it, and its restarting again and again
I try to make boot by clicking both 3 keys, after the boot upload its again trying to install the update software security and than its still making the same problem, try to connect throw pc by odin 3 or keys and its doesn't even connecting to programs, what can I do?
It looks like my galaxy did an auto update for android and now when I try to do a voice text or anything that opens the microphone, the X will not close it. I have to reboot the phone to get it to go away. Anyother way to force it to close?

1) I lose reception and do not re-acquire a signal until I reboot or turn on/off airplane mode.
2) Calls to me go straight to voicemail even when I have reception.
3) SMS message take up to hours to get to me
So, I've done the usual thing and read all over the internet and I see several people with same/similar issues.
I seem to have 'resolved' the issue with a workaround: I change the network mode from "GSM/WCDMA auto" to "WCDMA only" or "GSM only". Of course this is NOT acceptable - in 3G mode I have bad coverage and in 2G mode I have bad data speed - that's why the auto mode is there!
Of course, when I contact support they give all sorts of (already tried) testing measures culminating in a hard reset, which I *really* do *not* want to do, and then the ultimate threat of 'sending it for repair' which I also don't want to do since it probably isn't broken and just needs a software patch and I don't want to spend ages without it and go around in circles with refurbished/new phones.
Can anyone out there reassure me that they know what the issue is and what I really need to do, not just guess at it and offer unpleasant testing measures?

View 7 Replies View RelatedWhenever I try to run the android update it says "Searching for server" then report, "Server connection failure". This goes running though either wireless or 3g connection. The SII works fine downloading/uploading everything/everywhere else and on any connection, it has me baffled. It has worked before as it did a couple of updates when I first bought this really great phone!
View 3 Replies View Relatedmy recovery after I installed the latest android version(also installed custom rom and elementalx kernel, but I don't think it has anything to do with it), when I try to flash recovery, it works basically, but whenever I start the phone it automatically goes into recovery, and the only way to fix it is to flash another boot.img file, it reboots fine when I do it, but then I don't have recovery only the dead red triangle thing (Don't give me the power+vol fix, that's not the solution I'm looking for, as its not a very useful recovery), I tried to flash few recoveries/other boot.img files, but none of them boot regulary + recovery is working..I doubt its a problem with the boot.img I try to flash, because I tried so many and it didn't worked, anyway.

The H+, up/down arrows and signal bars on the notification bar change color from blue-green to black and the data connection is broken. Other apps say "no network connection." Cycling power corrects. Have not experienced this problem with WiFi (only one attempt to date).

The apps are still there and working, but I can only access them when I get a new notification.I have tried rebooting several times, and clearing the Touchwiz launcher data, but nothing changes.
