Dec 5, 2011I have xeperia X8 since 1 yr. just recently found out that I have android version 1.6. so wanted to upgrade it to android 2.1 or higher. saw few threads & found that after backing up phone data I can run PC software & the software installer will update it to Android 2.1 but when i click on support zone > software update in pc companion, it says "your phone has already updated software". I dont know why its showing that & not downloading the android version. Should I update the PC companion software also?

Dec 20, 2012i have a htc one x and recently the phone updated its android firmware, as a result the user interface has changed and i do not like it, was wandering if you guys knew how i can reset the firmware to its condition few days prior to the update? its an awesome phone and liked the interface as it was. for example before the update on the main menu when you scroll through the three tabs All, Frequent and Downloads, you would see the tabs change in 3D now its not like that.
i've tried resetting it to factory condition but asides from losing all the contacts, apps and personal stuff, the interface is still the new one since the update.
HTC Incredible S :: Latest Android Version Messed Up Signal/SMS?
Aug 31, 2011Since the last android update I have 3 problems, possibly connected: -
1) I lose reception and do not re-acquire a signal until I reboot or turn on/off airplane mode.
2) Calls to me go straight to voicemail even when I have reception.
3) SMS message take up to hours to get to me
So, I've done the usual thing and read all over the internet and I see several people with same/similar issues.
I seem to have 'resolved' the issue with a workaround: I change the network mode from "GSM/WCDMA auto" to "WCDMA only" or "GSM only". Of course this is NOT acceptable - in 3G mode I have bad coverage and in 2G mode I have bad data speed - that's why the auto mode is there!
Of course, when I contact support they give all sorts of (already tried) testing measures culminating in a hard reset, which I *really* do *not* want to do, and then the ultimate threat of 'sending it for repair' which I also don't want to do since it probably isn't broken and just needs a software patch and I don't want to spend ages without it and go around in circles with refurbished/new phones.
Can anyone out there reassure me that they know what the issue is and what I really need to do, not just guess at it and offer unpleasant testing measures?
Google Nexus 5 :: Recovery After Installed Latest Android Version
Jul 9, 2015my recovery after I installed the latest android version(also installed custom rom and elementalx kernel, but I don't think it has anything to do with it), when I try to flash recovery, it works basically, but whenever I start the phone it automatically goes into recovery, and the only way to fix it is to flash another boot.img file, it reboots fine when I do it, but then I don't have recovery only the dead red triangle thing (Don't give me the power+vol fix, that's not the solution I'm looking for, as its not a very useful recovery), I tried to flash few recoveries/other boot.img files, but none of them boot regulary + recovery is working..I doubt its a problem with the boot.img I try to flash, because I tried so many and it didn't worked, anyway.

Aug 30, 2014My phone was given to me by someone else but I did a complete reset and deleted their data and started using the phone.Everything was fine until I went on to a few questionable websites. Having clicked a few links, I found that new tabs were spontaneously opening in the safari browser and the app store kept kicking me out of my web session and inviting me to install some app.Â
As far as I am knowledgable, the phone is not jailbroken (if it was this would have been rectified when I did the reset, correct?).And as far as I know, the phone is very much safe, as long as it is not jailbroken, from malware etc. I did yet another reset, several intact, and I had a similar issue. This time though when I did the latest reset I did not include my iCloud and apple id credentials during the set up for fear of getting hacked. Â
The problem now is I have the issue on the phone, there is a lot of data, numbers and pictures I would like to transfer to my computer but I am 1) fearful of connecting it and 2) afraid to type in an email and password to send my data to myself, or even sync everything with iCloud.Â
The phone is also terribly slow, I don't know if this is a malware problem or if it is, as I read others have said the same online, the phone being too underpowered to support iOS 7.Â
