Huawei Nexus 6P :: How To Get Rid Of Virus / Malware In Chrome
Nov 3, 2015
I've recently have some virus/malware in chrome, it always redirects me to some site called cellphone-tips.com and I can't get rid off it. I have added a screen shot, any best way to get rid of this?
For the past week my lumia 1020 has acted VERY odd: battery drain (have to charge it twice a day) it heats up when I'm not using it, Apps open by themselves, tiles on my home screen keep moving around. Every time I open my phone, which is often, a random app has been activated: anything from my calendar to facebook to satnav.
I have a stock non rooted or modded Atrix running up todate firmware. Recently I tried using Astro to try and find a file I had on my phone only to find my phone got stuck in some never ending loop on a folder called thumb2 in the osh directory. After it got to about 2 gigs in size I figured it wasn't going to stop and cancelled the search. I looked in the folder my self only to find it kept looping back onto its self. What is this folder? Did I get some sort of virus or malware on my phone? Would it ruin anything if I deleted the folder seeing how its just keeps looping on it self?
I deleted both my Facebook app and messenger, and I had much better battery life for a few days. Now however, my sot is barely at 2 1/2 hours again, and my top usage is chrome. It's pretty frustrating because I stopped using Facebook altogether, and in still having poor battery. I think chrome is not letting it doze.
Last night I was getting annoyed by some screen flickering in Chrome. I was trying to pinpoint the issue, but it is not that easy. For now it only happens in chrome under these conditions:
Landscape orientation Using Swiftkey flow input Chrome tries to fill in something you already searched for
Sometimes I have to delete and restart typing in the keywords in order for the issue to appear.
It kinda happens when the omni-box gets auto-filled when trying to flow type on the swiftkey keyboard, the right portion of the screen will start to flicker like it is some sort of VRAM corruption.
This doesn't happen with stock google keyboard. Is it possible that hardware is still ok, can an app under certain circumstances do that? I only received my 6p a week ago.
Just as the title says, I tried messing with the dpi, went from 400 to 480, all of them cause chrome to go into tablet mode with the tiny tabs/buttons at the top of the screen. I'm using the PureNexus rom.
Gmail app doesn't allow me to click some embedded links and some links are just plain text and not highlighted/underlined in blue making them clickable.
I tapped a word in an article and it brought up the chrome touch to search at the bottom. I brought it up to see the search result. Chrome then crashed on me. I opened chrome again and touch to search no longer works and it's not listed in the settings menu either! Why did it just disappear like that?? My chrome is up to date.
When using Chrome to view a page with white text on a black background, white lines appear under the scroll bar on the right of the screen. They track with the text as I scroll up and down. I also notice them on white background/black text, but it is harder to see.Is this normal from Chrome/AMOLED screens or is there a hardware issue with my phone?
It's laggier than my Z3! I was NOT expecting this. Scrolling on certain sites is super choppy.
I have performed a factory reset and first impressions are that it is super smooth and silky now when scrolling again. I am yet to sign Chrome into my google account to sync a tonne of my bookmarks and see if this affects performance. Also, waiting on all my 237 apps to install in the background first before carrying out another test too. I will report back once I've done so.
On my previous factory reset, somebody said I should remove last pass, which I did but it made no difference as I still had other accessibility services enabled. So the problem resurfaced.
Okay, so it is all down to accessibility services, IMHO. Once enabled, Chrome seems to suffer from this dreaded laggggg and slow touch response or sometimes freeze and crash on sites like daily mail, XDA and huffpost. I have performed a factory reset and not enabled any accessibility services yet and everything is hunky dory, even with full bookmark and account sync.
I will update when and if problem recurs. All seems well for last couple weeks...
How whenever you're surfing the Internet on chrome, and you go to zoom in a little bit on a webpage, and then you click on a link? You get a bubble magnifying that link so you can see it better? Is there anyway to turn that magnification off or disable it?
I have the first South Division of Google Chrome on my phone for tomorrow I was wondering in chrome Flags is there any way to default home page to the desktop version vs the the mobile version?
So I've had my nexus 6 for about 2 weeks. The first week I had it, everything was good. No issues at all. Then, a couple days ago I went to open chrome and a pop up came up saying I had a virus. I backed out of it, downloaded AVANT and it didn't find any issues. Now when I go to chrome, the phone randomly redirects to the play store trying to get get me to download all kinds of different apps. I have run the adware and antivirus software and I have also done a full factory reset on the phone.
I tried to connect my phone to my Chromecast tonight both via the quick setting shortcut, and the app, and the second I started screen mirroring, and I hit my home button, the screen on my phone half froze up could not un freeze and I had keep on restarting my phone over and over again.
The latest update keeps giving me error 504 from the play store which I've googled and done the things suggested for the error. Wipe cache and data of play store. Remove Google account and log it back in. But still nothing so i manually downloaded from apk mirror and even that way says not installed when trying to update.
I tried Dolphin browser HD from the Play Store, it's nice but you can't import your Google Chrome bookmarks internet browser? I realized that the memory footprint a little lighter and you can actually run their websites and desktop format vs mobile format. I love my Chromebook tomorrow I uninstalled all the updates from Google Chrome because the latest update is 90 megs of RAM and the first version of Chrome in the play stores only 35 megs of RAM why
So the other day I sent a link from a website to my wife. This was maybe Tuesday. Every time I get a text from her and open it up through the notification bar, the link that I sent shows up in the text box to send to her again. I've cleared the cache in Hangouts, SwiftKey, and Chrome, and rebooted and I still can't get it to go away.
I received a ficticious phishing email puportedly from PayPal advising of a payment of $135.50 to someone I had never hear of and offering access to my account which obviously was a phishing sceme. While I did not follow the link to the phishing website, I did click on a couple of other links (Transaction ID, etc.) and when disccusing the matter with PayPal, it was suggested I may have infected my iPhone with malware. How do I scan my iPhone for malware?
i clicked on a facebook link while using my iPhone 4S and now find out it was bogus and will send spam mail and instal malware. how can I tell if the iPhone has been infected.
Info: iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1.1, clicked on a facebook link
Although Google has removed the respective apps (over 50 of them) which were infected with malware called DroidDream which is a Trojan, users may have compromised their phones already since an estimated 200,000 downloads took place before the malware was discovered.
When I try change Notification LED Color, The primary color "Green" and "Blue" do not seem to work. But when I move the slider down, I get RED, Pink, Yellow and Cyan.
Using Elemental-X 1.02 Kernel and tried with Chroma, Noobuilds and PureNexus.
Any good recs for a USB to USB C cable that is longer than 1 foot? At work I'm constantly plugged into my lap top but this short ass cable isn't cutting it.
Is there a way in the stock messaging app, or is there a specific messaging app available in the play store where I could:
Draft a txt and then send to multiple recipients without each recipient being able to see the other? Basically the same thing as sending an email to multiple people via BCC option.
Would be handy for business purposes. I don't care if they see my contact. I just don't want them to see eachothers contact since not everyone I'd send to would know the other (and/or want their contact information shared).
Obviously I could copy and paste the same message to multiple people via individual txt msgs... but being able to send a group txt would be way more efficient.
I got my Nexus 6P in australia yesterday and I was playing around with the settings. One of the things I wanted to enable was Now on Tap but everytime I try and enable it (either through holding the home button, or doing it through Settings), it won't enable! When I click Get Started, nothing happens. If i'm in the settings app, the toggle just turns off after I press Get Started.
