Mar 22, 2012I received a ficticious phishing email puportedly from PayPal advising of a payment of $135.50 to someone I had never hear of and offering access to my account which obviously was a phishing sceme. While I did not follow the link to the phishing website, I did click on a couple of other links (Transaction ID, etc.) and when disccusing the matter with PayPal, it was suggested I may have infected my iPhone with malware. How do I scan my iPhone for malware?

Aug 30, 2014My phone was given to me by someone else but I did a complete reset and deleted their data and started using the phone.Everything was fine until I went on to a few questionable websites. Having clicked a few links, I found that new tabs were spontaneously opening in the safari browser and the app store kept kicking me out of my web session and inviting me to install some app.Â
As far as I am knowledgable, the phone is not jailbroken (if it was this would have been rectified when I did the reset, correct?).And as far as I know, the phone is very much safe, as long as it is not jailbroken, from malware etc. I did yet another reset, several intact, and I had a similar issue. This time though when I did the latest reset I did not include my iCloud and apple id credentials during the set up for fear of getting hacked. Â
The problem now is I have the issue on the phone, there is a lot of data, numbers and pictures I would like to transfer to my computer but I am 1) fearful of connecting it and 2) afraid to type in an email and password to send my data to myself, or even sync everything with iCloud.Â
The phone is also terribly slow, I don't know if this is a malware problem or if it is, as I read others have said the same online, the phone being too underpowered to support iOS 7.Â

Recently I tried using Astro to try and find a file I had on my phone only to find my phone got stuck in some never ending loop on a folder called thumb2 in the osh directory. After it got to about 2 gigs in size I figured it wasn't going to stop and cancelled the search. I looked in the folder my self only to find it kept looping back onto its self. What is this folder? Did I get some sort of virus or malware on my phone? Would it ruin anything if I deleted the folder seeing how its just keeps looping on it self?

To me, yes, obviously, because this means the App Store can be in more hands, and my apps can have a MUCH larger audience. Yes I know there is a lot of market share already, but look at VZW, T-Mob etc and if we got their eyes on our apps. you should be able to fill in the rest. Your reservation is valid for pick-up only at the Apple Retail Store that you selected. My dilema is it's going to take me 2+ hours and lots of expense to get to the store on the 24th, the last thing I want to do is turn up at lunch time (about when i'd finally arrive) to find out they've sold mine / sold out.

Apr 17, 2012We have purchased SSL Certificates from verisign to do 802.1x authentication. However when attempting to connect I still receive the "Not Trusted" Certificate message. In testing I have e-mailed all of the seperate certs to myself to see for sure which one in the chain is not trusted. I find that the Root Certificate "Verisign Class 3 Public Primary Certification Authority - G5" dated 11/7/2006 to 7/16/2036 is the one that mis matches the one in on my phone. I read that the key for the cert http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5012 doesnt match the one directly from Verisign therefore verisign cert isnt trusted.

Jun 25, 2012With my iPhone 4, running iOS 5.1.1, syncing notes in Mail results in a stange blank Notes document appearing in the Notes sidebar in Mail. The Notes look like a yellow sheet of ruled paper, as they do on my iPhone, but they open to reveal no information other than their names.
Once opened, they disappear from my list of Notes, and upon the next sync via USB cable from my iPhone to my Mac, the notes also disapepar from the phone. When opened in Mail, the blank and useless no-longer-a-note Notes will not close unles I quit Mail. I am running Snow Leopard 10.6.8. In Mail, I've tried both listing the Notes in the Inbox, and as their own separate group.
