I have my gmail acct set up through exchange. Whenever I get a new message, I get two different notifications, including banners and badges. Strangely, if a message goes straight to my SPAM box instead of inbox it doesnt do this?

The bar on the top of the screen between the "select a profile" and the "search magnifying glass" where the notifications pop up not sure what that page is called but in this slide down screen under Text Messages I have a text message that is staying at unread. Even though I have deleted the text message and I've tried everything to try and get it to go away. Today I have a Blackberry Messenger Message that won't delete as well. Does anyone else have this problem and figure out a way to refresh and get ride of it? I've tried turning the device on and off a few times but doesn't fix the issue.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI use my BB for personal use only. The email account I have registered on the phone is my gmail account. Just today, I noticed I can no longer send (compose new or reply) emails using this account on my phone. I get the following message in the email I attempt to send:
message status message included an invalid address
I can receieve my gmail messages on my phone no problem. My gmail account login information is correct on the phone.
I've tried searching for this problem but what I find always seems to be related to enterprise configurations using an Exchange Server and the fix was for the Exchange server. That doesn't fit my scenario.
With Do Not Disturb turned on, all of my notifications are kept quiet, screen doesn't turn on, no vibration - except one app. Facebook still comes through. I keep my S6 on vibrate at night, so it's not that big of a deal (other than draining battery). But the blue flashing LED is annoying and lights up the whole room. Is there anyway to set Facebook quiet hours or something similar? Or set it so it will play nice with Do Not Disturb? I also think the Google Photo assistant does the same. I don't really care if Google has put together a slide show of my vacation in the middle of the night.

But I have one question; When I delete messages do they get archived or do they get sent to trash? there's no option to specify this in settings as there is with the IMAP setup.

When receiving a group message, this latest version (5.0.1.41) of BBM no longer notifies me with the appropriate assigned group icon. It just shows the same icon notice for all groups.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using a Blackberry Bold 9000 from work, so I have no ability to install applications and no access to a web or PC interface. The device is connected via AT&T. I set up my personal Gmail account as a second inbox in addition to my work inbox, with only the work email showing in the main inbox. It was working fine until yesterday. I deleted two Gmail messages at once but the Gmail inbox appeared to hang on the message indicating it was deleting the second message. I was able to get out of the Gmail inbox to get to other applications, but the deleting message persisted when I went back into Gmail. I resorted to a battery pull to try to stop the process. When i booted back up, I still had both inbox icons. Opening the Gmail inbox shows an empty message list, but if I search that inbox leaving the search fields blank, it shows all of my messages in the search results. I cannot get the messages to appear without searching for them or setting them to show in my main indox, which I don't want to do.
I have tried repeated battery pulls, soft reset, deleting and recreating the Gmail account on the BB, deleting and resending the service books, and tweaking the synchronization settings for the Gmail account (calendar and contacts), all without success. What else can I try to make my message list appear?
I can't send/receive emails on my BlackBerry Curve. I got a message from BlackBerry that I have to validate my gmail password but when I follow the instructions, I can't get it to work. I go to "setup wizard" then to "email settings". It says if I want to access my email, to enter my user and password. I've tried all the user ID's that I would have used but nothing works. When I click on "forgot password" and go through that, it tells me it's sent my password has been sent to my BlackBerry, but it doesn't come.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI had a message on the general message screen telling me that my gmail password needed to be validated. i never had a problem receiving gmail to my general messages before this. I rarely use the gmail app on the phone because it tends to use more battery than the general message space. Here is what I did:
1. I went to email settings and tried to put in the password. I got a message telling me that the password was not valid even though I know it is the correct password. So I tried again.
2. I turned my phone off and then back on and tried again - same message appeared. I read further and it said that if the problem persisted I needed to contact gmail.
3. I next did a battery pull. The same message appeared again when I tried again - and again!
4. I deleted my gmail account from the phone, turned the phone off, turned it back on and then tried to reenter the gmail account and password. It told me that that gmail account was already in the phone - but the password still would not validate.
5. I changed my gmail password on my computer, tried to input the new password into the account on the phone and that didn't work either!
I'm experiencing a weird glitch that no one (including tech support at Verizon) seems to be able to figure out. I have a gmail account set up on my Bold 9650 and everything works properly EXCEPT that I cannot get it to show me the message count of unread messages (which usually should show up in parenthesis when I scroll over the account envelope icon). It seems that this is an issue with the Bold 9650 in particular because I have gotten the gmail unread message count to work on other blackberry devices, but not my (or another friend's) Bold 9650.

However, if I open the email account (and find no new messages), and then close it to go back to the home screen, magically the icon has disappeared. A fix, right? When I send a message from my gmail web client, I often would like to bcc myself so that I have a copy of that message on the device when i am away from the computer. That is the point to having a BlackBerry.....right???he problem is GMAIL and/or RIM but this must be one of the MOST ludicrous things I have encountered. Here is some more information on the problem... CauseGmail webmail accounts do not have separate sent items and inbox folders. My Photon 4 G does not sync calendar, contact, Gmail with my company Gmail account. I believe that it just stopped syncing last week and I believe that it was following a Motorola update, but cannot say for sure. Under Data Delivery, both Background Data and Data enabled are checked green. However, this is interesting because Email and corporate sync is grayed out on that screen. When I go to Account, checking the sync options is not possible, but I can do a manual sync. Please note, at one time, these options to sync Contacts, Gmail and Calendar were available. I've pulled the batter. I really do not want to reset to factory default. Suggestions? (Please note this is a company Gmail account, not just regular Gmail.)

I don't know if my thread title makes sense but basically what I would like to know is what are the advantages of downloading the Gmail app vs just setting up a Gmail account through my BIS (Email Settings/Add Account)? My main objective here is wireless contacts sync. I have read a lot of negative feedback regarding Gmail on a BlackBerry but I will not really even be using this for email all to often, although I will from time to time.
What I have done is just added my new Gmail account through the native BlackBerry email setup and then downloaded Google Sync. I downloaded the Gmail app but I didn't really like the UI and I like to have all 3 of my email accounts go into the same folder.
When I get an email I like how the blackberry automatically opens up the email application if I pull it out of the holster.The only problem is that it pulls up the Messages inbox and not my gmail account inbox.Any way to fix this or do anything about it? I have the gmail enhanced plugin if that makes a difference.Also on a totally unrelated note is there a way to search the gmail server from the gmail plugin app?

I ask, because I have multiple email accounts on my phone, gmail, hotmail, etc.. gmail is on the native gmail app, which is currently pushing... but the others are in the HTC Mail app.
I'd rather have 1 app for everything, instead of bouncing between.. IMAP is IMAP.. which the HTC Mail app supports (for moving to and from folders).. but if it doesn't push using the IDLE command (like gmail app does).. then I'm stuck where I am.
First of all I'd like to know if the data i send thru bis using the phone's mail configuration is encrypted till server, as far as i understand the route is blackberry ==> Provider ==> BIS ==> google servers ==> BIS ==> Provider ==> blackberry, now, are my password and mails encrypted during all this? I mean is it all encrypted even after it passed thru bis?
Second, I'd like to know what gmail app does (m.google.com/mail) regarding encryption, i see in its settings "always use secure connections" that should mean its all encrypted according to google policies right?Last, if i used the gmail app (google's) would i still need a BIS subscription or just an internet connection would be fine?
Reason i want to know is that Blackberry's mail may be a little more comfortable for me due to slow connection but i'd still want to be safe, only thing i noticed is that BIS logs into my gmail account (pretty normal tho).I see this has been discussed in the past but there was never a definitive answer and i think (not tried though) that packet sniffing wouldnt bring me one either.

I Often times I'll get a " message failed" message while trying to send text or iMessages to friends. The only way it'll eventually send is if I dekete tge entire message thread. Any way I can fix this problem on my iPhone 6 plus?

This is only happening when I'm texting someone using iMessage - it'll say that they sent their message as a text message, but then a few minutes later I'll get their exact same message again, but this time as an iMessage - it's happened with multiple people - it says I'm still in iMessage "mode" but they're in text message mode and then i'll often receive the same message again - this has only started happening recently, and it doesn't happen every time but it happens often and I'm not sure why- has this happened to anyone else?

When I try to forward a text message to more than 10 people by using the contacts menu to select the recipients, the message changes from text message to multimedia message.
Since, I do not have a subscription for multimedia messages with my service provider, the message remains in the outbox and never gets sent.
Can someone advice why the text message converts to multimedia message? How to prevent this from happening everytime I send/forward text message to more than 10 people from the contacts list?
