Samsung :: Data / Power Connector
Mar 9, 2010I was looking at the Samsung Data/Power connector, but I don't recognize it. Is it proprietary? Is there a name for it? It does not look like a mini or micro USB to me.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been Googling to try to find an adapter or cable to connect to the internal antenna port on the PCB, but I don't know what the industry terminology for such a connector is, so I don't even know what to Google. Can someone tell me what I need and/or point me to a site where I can buy it? My phone has no external antenna port and an inductive adapter/cradle is not good enough. Yes, I will be very careful and provide strain relief, etc., when I hook it up.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've searched and am struggling to find much on these. What do they do, and how are they different?
According to HTC: Note: IfData connection is selected, HTC One automatically disconnects from the mobile network after 15 minutes when the screen is off and the data connection is idle (no download activity, streaming, or data usage). It reconnects and then disconnects periodically when the data connection is idle to save battery power.
Do these affect mobile data, Wifi, or both? Do they affect anything else?
I've left these off because I don't know how they work, and am getting fairly short battery life (10 to 15 hours, depending on use).
We enabled the power-on PIN option on the T401G, and created the PIN using the slide-out keyboard. We used letters and numbers in the PIN. But now when we power on the phone, and we're asked to enter the PIN...the slide-out keyboard is not activated. So we cannot enter the PIN, because we have no way to enter letters. The phone is basically unusable now. Things we're tried:
- remove battery & SIM, install battery, power on/off, install SIM.
- enter the wrong PIN (which is all we can do) many times (> 10)
- NET10's "solution" via e-mail is to hold down the */lock key, which does nothing.
Will the USB port supply 5V to a connected accessory? I'm thinking of running a MIfi 3.5G mini-router off it in the car.No data connection through USB (that will be wifi) just power.

Then when another key is pressed it goes away. What is this? Is it an automatic thing or am I pressing something to activate it?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy husband and I have each had an S2 w/T-Mobile for roughly five months. Several days ago his started restarting on its own any time the screen was turned off (either manually turned off by tapping the "power" button or when the screen timed out) but no other time. It was doing this for a couple of days. I contacted tech support and they suggested a factory reset, which I did. It came back online with no trouble, and he was able to log in to his accounts, make calls, send texts, etc. It didn't restart on its own at all for the couple of hours we had it with us that night. During those couple of hours it was plugged in to charge. We went to bed and the next morning it was completely dead. No response to any buttons, doesn't acknowledge when it's plugged in, nothing. We tried swapping batteries and SIM cards with my phone, and still nothing.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSometimes when I need to reboot/reset my i760 (Winmob 6.1, Spb Shell) it will not finish the boot cycle. I turn it on, I get the Samsung logo, the dark blue static Verizon wireless screen, then it about a half a second into the next screen (where the Verizon wireless logo "floats" down to a light blue screen) the system powers off. You can just see the red check in the logo start to draw and head down and the system just goes off.I thought I had solved it by pulling the battery for about 30 seconds, but now that doesn't fix the problem anymore. The only way to make the phone power on is to connect it to a power source (charger or cradle). Then it powers on normally. It does not matter the charge on the battery at the moment - I've had it do it any charge level, including 100% just off a overnight charge. This battery will normally last me 2 days of hard use.Any ideas?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI had less than 7% of battery and I went into Ultra Power Saving Mode where I got only notification upper tab and blank screen below. I reboot my phone but stuck on Samsung logo. How to fix this?
Tried wipe cache in recovery mode and charging phone up to 100% but no luck, still stuck on Samsung logo.
Phone is international S6, not rooted, official. Any options except hard reset?
After activating my Ultra Power Saving mode, I was able to deactivate, however my phone then went into a similar power saving mode, grey scale screen, no apps and no option to exit the mode available on any accessible parts of the settings. Is this a bug? or have I activated a mode I didn't intend to?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSince the dawn of time (almost) Apple has used the 30-pin connector, which was originally used for laptop docking stations, and of course the iPhone inherited that port. Now, I can see why they have it on the iPhone since almost every portable Apple products use it and that's good for accessories like sound systems and various other products. Now, I remember hearing about a new phone standard for cables/chargers with all parties using the same port. Apple among others have joined. So, what's gonna happen to the 30-pin connector? Are there any real benefits of using the 30-pin connector over a USB solution, like micro USB?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a package with Rogers that includes unlimited mobile browsing over WAP. I am considering buying the Samsung Jet and I was wondering if it would be covered by my plan as browsing or if it would be considered downloading (data). It isn't technically a smartphone, but it isn't exactly dumb either - hence my uncertainty.
phone arena lists the Jet's internet connectivity as: HTML, WAP 2.0. So does this mean I have the option to switch between full or mobile internet?
After noticing that my normal cables aren't working right, (I usually use a dock) I've been trying to figure out why. Finally found the cause. The dock is faulty. Pic's are at the bottom. The right side of it is pushing up more as you can see in the pics. It's firmly in that position, doesn't wiggle or anything and the phone still charges and music can be played using the dock. But the normal cables are all acting really dodgy now. If u push them in they'll connect for a second while your pushing and then disconnect when you let go... This has been getting worse and worse and obviously the dock has slowly been damaging the connector inside the phone.
