I have noticed but just a few times. I will have my phone keypad locked and in my pocket. I will take it out and unlock it and it says Power Save Mode. Then when another key is pressed it goes away. What is this? Is it an automatic thing or am I pressing something to activate it?
I woke up this morning and my Sch-A930 keeps "leaving svc area", "searching svc area", "entering svc area" and doing the process all over again . It might stay iin svc all of 2 secs before it leaves again . I did notice every once in a while the phone would display that it is in "power save mode." I had someone try to call my phone and it went to voicemail so I know it is sill on . I cannot send/receive calls/text messages .
I have a Samsung Omina, and frequently I have to reset the phone to get the screen back, when it goes into power save mode. I can hear that the phone functions are alert, but the screen remains off unless I reset the device. Also, I have adjusted the power save modes to tell the device to NOT shut down after any minutes.
I just got this phone about 3 weeks ago and just got my data cable and sd card and such the other day. I downloaded a couple of songs to use as ringtones and they are in the correct folder on my card. I set one as my ringtone and called my cell phone from my house phone and it worked. I cut my phone off and I was going to show my wife what it sounded like (when she got off work). The ringtone was set back to one of the originals that came on the phone. I have looked and looked and it seems like no one else has had this problem. I even deleted those songs and tried a new one. It worked fine until I cut the phone off and back on. Same results. I ave this through NET 10 by the way.
Is there a way to page up / page down when viewing text messages or emails? I'm tired of hitting the arrow key many times. Is there an enter key? When composing an email via gmail's mobile interface, hitting the down arrow tabs me to the send button, not to the next line in the body of the email. Is there a way to move from viewing one text message to the next text message without exiting the current text message? Is there a way to enter keyguard mode during a call so I can put the phone in my pocket while talking on bluetooth?
When I had my ENV, I could go into the service menu and turn off the powersave mode so that the front screen would always be on. Now I have a Voyager, and while I can access the service menu, it seems to have different options and I can't figure out how to get the front screen to stay on.
There seems to be a problem with the "power save" mode in the N96. When the battery gets low and goes into PSM I switch it off, shove in the spare fully charged battery, switch it back on and it doesn't recognise that the batteries fully charged. Stays in PSM and the only way I know to get it out is to plug in the charger.
†How can I disable the power save mode in Nokia C2 01? I want the digital clock screen saver to appear all the time when I am not using the phone, but what currently happens is that few seconds after I stop using the keypad, the whole screen dims and the screensaver (having the digital clock) disappears as well.
I have Power Save and Sleep Mode on, but ScreenSaver off. However, the screen often awakes from PowerSave / Sleep (not sure which - manual doesn't describe the difference) and lights up.
This is especially annoying when driving and the Nokia is on a hands-free mount: it's quite distracting, and occurs about every couple of minutes. It may be that when driving, I'm moving between different signal strengths, and that change to the powersaved screen display activates it again. But it has also happened with the phone in a building.
So I am having a very strange problem. I have been using the Situations App (formerly Nokia Situations) to automatically put my phone into offline mode, and power saving mode over night. 9pm to 6:30am.Recently the phone as started refusing to leave the offline mode in the morning. Even if I try to change the profile manually it says "Unable to change profile". The only way I can get out of offline mode is to reboot.I uninstalled Situations, and manually put the phone into offline mode and power saving mode. By the morning I had the same issue, stuck in offline mode until reboot. So it's not the App causing the problem. I've tried a soft reset, same problem still.
I also noticed that over-night (from fully charged before 9pm) to 6:30am I used about 70% of my charge. (A combination of power saving mode and offline mode is killing my battery!)I would have to go to work and immediately put my phone on charge! I.e.. 12 hours of offline + power save has drained my battery almost completely.Last night I decided to use the Situations App to put the phone into offline mode, BUT NOT activate power save mode. This morning the phone had virtually full charge and it had no problem returning to online mode.So it's ONLY if I use BOTH power-save and offline. (Tonight I will try using power-saving mode and NOT offline mode to see if it's only the power-saving mode causing the issue!)If I manually enter offline+power-save mode, and then try to return to on-line/non-power-save mode, relatively quickly, i.e.. Not over-night, everything is fine. It's only over night the problems start!
Just picked up this nice little slide phone at Wal-Mart, Straight Talk as the provider. As I sit here customizing it, I notice that the built-in wallpaper automatically resizes depending on what orientation i have the screen (keyboard out or in). I have been unable to duplicate this behavior with any wallpaper I've sent over to the phone, unfortunately. Other than that, very nice, clear, capable phone

I want to buy a case for my Samsung R451C. Which do you guys prefer? The stylish plastic covers or the rubber/leather covers. I like the style of the plastic ones, but the others provide some cushion in case of dropping it.
How can I put ringtones off of websites on this phone without going to the site suggested by Straight Talk? I would like to pick and choose from a different source but do not know of a compatible site.
When I lock my SGS II i would expect all the buttons to lock! However the power button function remain active and its far too easy to accidently power off my phone or set it into flight mode.Does anyone know how to disable this "feature" ??
I found 3 hidden menu's that I haven't found posted on here so I'll go ahead and let you guys know where they are.
1: OK, Left or Directional Key till you highlight Messages, * This asks for a Lock Code. (No further testing done as to not fubar my phone.).
2: OK, Left or Right Directional Key till you highlight Browser Settings, * Enter the last 4 of your phone number or your lock code. This brings up the Primary DNS, Secondary DNS, Proxy address, and Common Settings
3. OK, Left or Right Directional Key till you highlight settings, #, then 000000 for the code, and System Info screen is visable. Show the Debug Screen, Test Calls, Voice SO, Port Map, Throughput Test, Bluetooth, Force Mode, DUN Mode, and Security. (edit: pushing the # in this menu asks for a 10 Digit User Lock Code)
Alright well i just got straight talk, bought the service three days ago. Everything was going fine i was making calls, using the internet, and sending a **** load of text messages. well today i came home to find that i wasn't receiving any calls. so i came home and started to make a phone call. the phone displays calling..... i cant hear any ringing the screen disappears. it doesnít say anything. it doesnít say call failed, nothing. so i try agian. and now i get call failed. i have full bars. ok so i try txt messaging, txt failed to send. ok now i go driving thinking maybe its the cell phone tower near my place same thing. i have full bars but cant make any calls i ask my friend to call my phone. nothing it doesnít ring. so by this time i call customer service. i spend 45 mins to do the basic b.s. they have to do by reading off a piece of paper. Pull out your battery let the phone sit for 1min and then put the battery back in (start the phone still cant call) do a phone reset even asked the guy to reactivate my account. Nothing he keeps asking me to call the activation line *22890 well it doesnít work because the phone isnít ringing. so I tell the guy it not ringing still and i guess he gave up because he hung up on me. I call back get a different guy. Told the guy i just went thru everything and nothing worked. He tells me to return the phone and get another one. well Wal-Mart doesnít even have this phone in stock i check the three that are around me. i ask can you send me anther phone because i think this is bs that i have to return the phone and call you when iam at Wal-Mart to transfer everything over. i ask the guy for a complete full refund including the 45 dollar unlimited card that is not refundable. he then goes on to tell me wait one sec while i write you a ticket for level two support so they can hard reset your phone. he then tells me its going to take 48 hours to hard reset my phone. He gives me a ticket number and says call back in 48 hours. So anyways
Basically does anyone know how to hard reset this phone? i think it bs just to get me off the line how is he going to reset a phone that canít even make a connection to the tower. I donít have the usb cable is there a key combination I can type or press to get this thing to hard reset. I did go thru the hidden menus that are posted and did not see anything.
If BitPim will work with the R451C?Or if any other app is available.I have multiple phones, with 300-400 contacts each.Strange thing, there is a thread about use of the BitPim app on Samsung phones at cellphoneforums.net, but none of my posts are ever displayed there.
I have a ST Samsung SCH R451C. I've downloaded the "hacker manual" for the R450, noted all codes I can find on threads pertaining to my phone. I haven't downloaded any programs or tried to do anything to my phone yet. I want to find out more about what I can do to the phone. I have modded Motorolas before and found it cool to be able to change things. I have also had phones that didn't require modding programs because they were "naturally" modifiable. This phone is a dud in the customization aspect and I'm wondering if any of this will allow me to do anything with it. I started looking for info because I wanted to see if there was a way to change the word "Home" on my home screen. All of the phones I've owned in the past have allowed me to change this to anything I want without any mods, but this phone won't let me do something even this simple. I guess that's what I get for screwing up so many contracts, but since this is what I have for now, I was just wondering if anything on this phone is customizable and if so, how much and what sort of mods I can do? Just any general information would be good and we can go from there.
I purchased an Iogear USB Micro Adapter Model GBU421WM to try and transfer things from my computer to the phone. After updating the Bluetooth software and trying several times to pair my phone with my computer nothing would happen. It would sit with the serial number window up even after I typed the serial number in several times.I have tried making the phone see the computer and vice versa, and nothing has worked yet. Yet it does know the phone is there and the phone talks to the computer. Just pairing will not occur. So my question is: Is it even possible or am I missing something to make my phone/computer talk through Bluetooth.I have a StraightTalk Samsung R451C Phone.
I'm new to this phone and have input 100 or so contacts by hand and now wanted to sort them into groups. I created the groups I wanted but when I tried to input the contacts to "Friends" I got the message that groups cannot have more than 10 entries. Can this be right? I can't find a setting to change this but it makes no sense. What's the point of groups if they're limited to 10 entries? This could be a make or break for this phone for me. Once I add all the contacts, I can't imagine scrolling thru all of them trying to remember how I input a customer's/friend's/tenant's/etc name.
i am thinking about getting this phone as it seems it is one of the better ones on the straight-talk prepaid plan. i know it's not considered a "high end" phone but it's much better than some of the ones i've used in the past.has anyone here used this phone? how is the internet experience using it? i mean... i know you're quite limited on a phone with a screen this size but can you view Internet videos with "reasonable" quality?also.... i hear you cannot use opera-mini with this phone. are there other options so that i can at least do a little bit of browsing?
I just picked up a sandisk 4g microSD and Sandisk adapter.I formatted the card in my phone, moved images to it and can access it by plugging it into my printer.I wanted to move ringtones onto the card from my pc but I keep getting a "disk is write protected" message. From a search I learned to look for a switch on the side of the card...well there's no switch on the micro card and the switch on the side of the adapter says "lock". I've tried that switch in both positions but it doesn't make a difference.I've used a magnifying glass to look the micro card over but there's no switch.I was able to copy images from the phone to the card then from the card to my pc so I know they're communicating, I just can't write to the card from the pc.
I was on here awhile back, and you guys helped me out a lot with the importing ringtones to my phone. I read a lot of complaints (myself included) about the very low volume when the R451C rings. I believe someone on here recommended zedge.net for free cell phone stuff. I went to their site and searched "super loud" under ringtones and downloaded one that was pretty good. I believe it was called "Turbo Alarm". Now, I know you guys love your mp3's by your favorite artist/band/etc., but this solved the low volume problem for me.
About 10 days ago, my Samsung R451C (Straight Talk) battery went dead. I thought that was odd, since I generally got four or five days service out of it before needing charging. So I put it on the charger and charged it up, and about six hours later the phone was dead again.I then purchased another OEM Samsung battery. Same problem; the phone needs recharged after five or six hours. Also, while fiddling with the phone, I noticed that I can no longer shut the phone off by pressing the PWD/END button--it shuts off and then immediately reboots back on.I called Straight Talk support and described my phone's battery life and power button symptoms. The rep immediately stated that Straight Talk would send me a replacement, making me wonder if there's a hardware or firmware problem in the phone they know about. However, the catch is that I have to send in my phone first and then they'll send the replacement, about a 15 day turnaround, according to the rep. I really don't want to be without a phone that long, so I'm looking at alternatives. Anyone have any experience with this sort of phone behavior before and have any suggestions for things I might try before sending the phone in for replacement?
