Samsung :: Does Jet Need Data?

I have a package with Rogers that includes unlimited mobile browsing over WAP. I am considering buying the Samsung Jet and I was wondering if it would be covered by my plan as browsing or if it would be considered downloading (data).It isn't technically a smartphone, but it isn't exactly dumb either - hence my uncertainty.
phone arena lists the Jet's internet connectivity as: HTML, WAP 2.0. So does this mean I have the option to switch between full or mobile internet?

I was looking at the Samsung Data/Power connector, but I don't recognize it. Is it proprietary? Is there a name for it? It does not look like a mini or micro USB to me.

My teenager went swimming with his phone. So I give him my old blackjack, pop in the sim, and off he goes. Now ATT is forcing that phone onto a pda data plan, instead of my old family unlimited plan.SO is there a way for me to mask the imei so they cant detect this phone so he can use it without a pda plan? Phone used to be all customized but I reset it to factory before giving it to him so its back to WM 5.0 .

I have a Rogue on Verizon now. Verizon put the data block on it for me but that takes away the flexibility of using it when needed. I am also thinking about switching to Page Plus so definitely want to know how to turn data on/off from the phone.

Any idea how to transfer contact info from the SIM and the phone memory to PC?
Tried bluetooth, paired with my laptop (entered 0000 as PIN code since had no clue what to use for that), but couldn't make any file transfer. All the folders on the Eternity showed empty and there was no any option to find the contact info I wanted to transfer anyway. What am I doing wrong?Since I'm switching to Verizon, I can't use the SIM card just to stick it in the new phone.Tried bluetooth with the new phone too (HTC Droid Eris). Again, I used 0000 as PIN code and the Droid showed: "Paired but not connected". Now I'm totally advice less what to do.

I just recently acquired a samsung delve from a friend. I have a prepaid phone plan from alltel, and i was able to activate the delve online, but the only problem is, since i don't have a data plan for some reason every so often the phone sends and recieves data automatically or something idk, the little data transferring icon shows up, which costs me money, i know the data menu code the ##3282# BUT idk how to deactivate the data feature so it doesn't try sending data like web data or anything like that,

My wife has the Samsung Memoir SGH-t929 on the T-Mobile Even More Plus Family Plan (750 Talk and Text). If I was to add data on to her plan, is this the $25 "smartphone" or is this a $10 "other phone"? I asked somebody at T-Mobile and their answer didn't make sense to me.

I have a Samsung Vice SCH-r561 and when i opened the box i found that it has a data cable included. I downloaded some wall papers and ringtones to my home computer from a website and am trying to transfer them from my computer to the phone, but everytime i plug the usb cable in it says windows xp is looking for the drivers to install but it never finds any. It says it's looking for samsung cdma technologies software. Can someone direct me to where i can download the required software or is there another application that i could use for this?

when I plug my S2 into my laptop (Macbook pro) and choose data transI was expecting to see an icon representing the phone show up on the Finder desktop. That's not happening. Instead I'm prompted to "press the home key to quit Samsung Kies" Am I doing something wrong or do I HAVE to open Kies in order to see my phone's memory (32GB SD). My Nokia N8 would just show up on the desktop...not so with the GS2.
PS. Does using the USB invoke Samsung Kies to open up? I'm not seeing anything on my homescreen except the word "Connecting"...and the little dots that indicate the phone is thinking about something,..but nothing ever happens beyond that.

just replaced my iphone 3 for a galaxy s2 although its not connected yet. ive obviously got loads of apps and music on my iPhone which i would like to transfer to the galaxy. a lot of my music has been bought from itunes so i dont want to lose it.is the galaxy compatible with itunes? can i connect the galaxy to itunes and transfer all the music, photos, videos, phone book etc.

I have just upgraded from a Nokia N8 to an S2 and have been alarmed at how much data I am using compared to my previous phone. My email application used 373mb of data in two days just synching two Hotmail accounts, and I don't get many emails! My Nokia was set to use push email every 15 minutes and hardly used any of my 1Gb allowance on Virgin mobile UK. I have had to set my S2 to never synch and do it manually instead, which is rather annoying upgrading to a phone which can't do what my older one did perfectly, I am using the S2 's own data usage tool to monitor my usage,I assume it is accurate?

My phone and internet works fine in and around the city I live in. I went to Charlotte for the race on Saturday. It said "roaming" but I had many bars and could place calls and send and receive texts. But when I wanted to connect to the internet, it said 'Check Data restrictions 36" or something like that.

i (987456321) have been unable to put games on my Samsung impact T746 (also called a Samsung highlight T749) since i have got it. i have looked around and tried all the methods and they did not work (for me anyway) so after mixing in things i heard around the interwebs i found out how to make it work for me. i put together a little tutorial on what i did and how i made it work. this is probably a total repeat of what someone else has said, but it might save someone some time and effort (and a trip to the store because they did something wrong, like me)
1. get the .jar for your game
2. use jadgen to make a .jad to go with that .jar file
3. plug your Samsung Impact into your computer
4. run samsung pc studio
5. open task manager and under process's delete ************ (i can not remember the name of the file, i will update when i can) this will make pc studio able to find the phone
6. now go back to pc studio and try to find phone, when you find your phone close pc studio
7. open tkfileexplorer (v2.2 works for me)
8. click settings>com>default, a COM* should appear in the Port spot
9. click ok, now connect to phone
10. on the bottom half to go exe>Java>Games
11. make a new folder (should be your games name) and put the jad and jar in there
12. repeat 11 for as many games/apps you have.
13. disconnect and unplug your phone.
14. go onto your Impact and touch "phone"
15. dial "*#6984125*#" you should be taken to a menu
16. click internals and type in *#9072641*# and hit ok
17. If clicking ok does not work (seems unresponsive to your clicks) turn your phone in the horizontal texting position and then try clicking ok
18. click storage settings, then update java DB
19. wait for it to finish then exit and go to your game folder, have fun

Having great difficulty in transferring data/photos from my Galaxy S II to my laptop. When my S II is plugged in to my laptop, within my laptop, it does not recognise the storage device within the S II, but only acknowledges it as "other devices". So therefore I can not enter into the SII device to transfer etc.

I installed the lite'ning rom around 4 days ago but since yesterday I'm unable to activate data network mode? It's ticked under the settings and i've tried turning it on and off but it still doesn't come on. When I hold the power button it will say its activated but if I wait 30 seconds it switches to saying its deactivated? Is this a problem with the rom?

Yesterday i used the the mobile data connection just as normal. I downloaded from the store and everything. Then i was back in wlan. I tried Fring. I wanted to try Fring also on 3G or Edge or HDSPA or whatever comes out from my handy and goes into the air ^^ I don't know anymore.So I turned off my wlan and was down. No internet anymore and even there was no icon in the toolbar.
I turned my phone on and off, unistalled every app i installed since the last time it worked, which was just an hour before that.
The things i installed were: A brightness widget (appears under volume controll if you press the volume buttons. I forgot the name.) and "Quicksettings", which leeded to uninstalling the first mentioned unit.After that didn't help either, i changed the card in my phone with another from the same provider. It didn't work. In the same move i put my card to another smartphone and got a connection.Conclusion: Either my phone is misconfigured (which i hope for) or it's broken (which would suck but i have warrenty left).
I even tried to let my provider send me the right connection data and saved them. Nothing...I know there is the way of getting back to factory settings, but i only want to try that if i'm running out of possibilities. And of course i don't want to lose my app data. my phone is not rooted now and i know i have to, to save my app data and apps (which sucks. 1-0 for the iPhone). I you have only ideas that could be done by rooting my phone i would do so, but i would rather avoid that because of the 'maybe warranty loose'.

I've only had the phone a couple of days and I downloaded 3g Watchdog to keep an eye on my data usage and noticed that my total has been increasing even though I'm not surfing, emailing or downloading. Is there anything I could switch off so that the data usage only increases when I actually DO something?
