View 12 Replies View RelatedI watched part of the browser comparison vid that compared the 9700 to the Torch, iPhone 4 and Samsung Vibrant, and that 9700 was not a good comparison as its memory was bogged down IMO. Mine loads pages about ten times faster than the one in that vid did. Faster than all those phones, at least it seemed that way. Maybe I can find people with them and compare side by side that way.

So, I did a little cam comparison between the K850 and the C901. Wanted to include the Vivaz, but unfortunately I didn't have the phone with me. Anyway, here are the pictures.

System won't let me upload more. Rest to come tomorrow. I reckon it's a bit unsharp, it was very windy.
I've been using the Satio for the last months and I've been happy with it. It has an overall good build quality, nice UI and and impressive camera, even though the lack of sharpness and those boring smooth edges. However, I was flirting for some time the Nokia E72 and I decided to give it a try. I enjoy its build quality, size and qwerty. The only drawback in the swap would be the camera, or so I thought (the xenon flash is, obviously).
Before I sell the Satio, I had to do a photo comparison! And well, this comparison seems to be pointless and I'm sure everyone thinks that the Satio will perform much better. So did I until I came home, gathered the pics and started comparing them. Before the comparison please note that:
- The first is from Satio
- Full auto in all photos
- Satio photos: 12MP
- E72 photos: 5MP
- Flash: Off
- Image stablizer: Off
- All photos were taken with my hands as still as I could. Different shutter speeds in the same light conditions may cause blurriness and I'll also consider that since it may be important for the photo quality.
- Nokia E72 does not have lens protector and I just cleaned its' lenses a couple times during this. Its photos may suffer the consequences of some dust or grease in the optics.
- Satio is updated to the latest generic firmware
- E72 was not updated yet and is branded to T-Mobile.
What do you think? Is there a 7mp size difference here? Curiously, in some cases, the E72 photos became with a bigger size than the Satio's. You can check all the comparison photos I took here. In these photos, the "s" means that they are from Satio and the "e" that they are from the E72. In the underscored photos "e0001_1" I've increased the sharpness level to "hard".
Anyway, sitting here in North Sweden and shooting some lowlight / indoor with C902 & K750i just for fun. I've never compared k750i & C902 indoor before, so I got surprised how similar they became.

It is my goal to own two iPhone 4s tomorrow morning at 7am via my local Apple store without a pre-order. However, my girlfriend and I are currently on a Verizon family plan and despite me constantly explaining how the iPhone will be the best investment she will ever make (I even used to have my own iPhone at the same time as the Verizon phone), she still needs more convincing that AT&T is at least pretty similar to Verizon's service and monthly bill.
Shortened story shorter (the point): I'm looking for some type of up-to-date comparison chart/website to compare the two. I tried Google but couldn't find anything worthwhile. I have a feeling if there's anything out there, MR would know.
I just thought of something else. Incase Apple is so busy tonight that they don't want to cancel Verizon and set me up with AT&T until they "officially" open the store (10am), can I still just pay for the two phones and set them up with our old Verizon numbers and new AT&T plan at a later time? Obviously I would do this to insure I have the phones in my possession and won't need to wait until they have new stock.
So I am switching from the Boost Curve 8330 to the AT&T Bold 9700.
Besides the service, could somebody tell me the cons and pros of this choice? As I will be paying a pretty penny for the phone each month.
I'd appreciate opinions from folks who had a Curve 9320 who upgraded to a Bold 9700. I love the Curve, but am starting to have issues with long periods of watching the hour glass, but also mechanical age issues, like a metal pin that poked through the 5/D key.My only complaint with the Curve, other than the amount of time it spends thinking about itself, is that I could never use weatherbug or any of the weather apps, they just ground everything to a halt.
My carrier is T-Mobile (Albuquerque, NM)

Quick question. I am starting a new Job and they are getting me a superbasic Perl. I need this for work and so I will be forking some dough out of my pocket to get one of the two following phones: Bold 9000 (I'll pay 100$ Canadian, not Us) Curve 8530 (pay 24.99$ Canadian). I am very used to the Iphone and HTC Touch Pro 2 (not trying to start a flaming/argument/anything else , its just what i'm used to). I am very used to browsing with the other phones and I have heard that BB phones are not up to par, so my expectations will be low. Out of the two phones however, does one perform better than the other (Curve 8530 vs Bold 9000)? Out of the two phones, which one do you recommend overall. I have read that the Bold 9000 even though it is older, it still outperforms the 8530...
View 5 Replies View RelatedSince my contract is up on Sunday (for me and my mom anyways, my dads isn't until october, so they are making us pay the early termination fee or go without a phone for 3 months, oh and this is Verizon i'm talking about, but you probably could've guessed that) and I am thinking about either getting a bold 9650 or curve 8530 for Sprint, since Verizon makes you add $30 onto each blackberry(crooks). But I was looking at the features and I would like the Bold but for some reason the cheapest I can find it is $99, while the Bold for Verizon I can find for free. My question is, is the Bold a lot better, enough to spend 100 dollars instead of 50? and why is it that I can find the Verizon bold for free but not for Sprint?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI am going to switch to Sprint, coming from AT&T (iPhone 3G) and I'm currently looking to buy a BlackBerry. I will mostly use it for BBM and not necesarily for web browsing. Which is best for me, the Curve 8530 which is free or the Bold which costs $150?

View 7 Replies View RelatedWe took delivery yesterday of a Bold 9900 to replace my daughters 8520. We thought it would be easy to get going but it appears that contacts on her phone can only be copied one at a time to her SIM which we will then have to put in her new Bold 9900. O2 suggested there was an option to do all the contacts in one go but we cant see that! I tried installing the desktop software on her laptop from her original curve CD. We then went through a series of updates, crashed her curve enentually got it working again) and ended up non the wiser. What is the safest and most reliable method of backing up and then copying Contacts to her new phone. Not to worried about other stuff as she can reinstall facebook etc and a can copy photos on to her PC.
View 1 Replies View RelatedOk, so I had a bold 9000 for a year, but I was sick of the battery life and battery pulls.
Couple weeks ago, I sold it and got me an android. But the problem is 90% of my friends and family own a blackberry, so basically I still need BBM.Now, I'm thinking of buying a new javelin, cause I always loved the form factor so much. I had no idea how'd I ended up with the bold.I know that it won't get the OS 6, but that won't be a problem since I already got an android. So do you guys recommend it?My only concern is the battery life. My brother got an onyx and it has great battery life. How's the battery life compared to the bold 9700?Oh and I also heard the CPU is pretty slow that you can't chat/browse the internet while listening to music? Is that true?
Why can't RIM develop a Bold 9xxx with the body of the Bold 9000 with larger memory, Trackpad, better camera? They've done it with the Tour and Curve. Plus they've got all the parts available already, just need a little engineering to fit the trackpad and everything else. C'mon RIM. We know you can do it. I'm sure you'd sell millions of them.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have had my 9700. I just noticed today that the sliver pieces that separate each row of keys are fragile. I have one piece that is totally broken on both sides under the Talk and End button, another broken one under the Q and the lower left one below the Z key. On all of them but bottom one, they were originally hard to see. Not sure how I found them but upon closer inspection, more and more were broken. The bottom one actually sticks up some.
My only concern is that they are going to get worse and totally break off and then free for all on dust and dirt in actual keyboard. These silver strips look real cheap. Anyone else have broken ones in their keyboard? How have you solved the issue? Can they easliy replace just the keyboard at the tech center? I have seen OEM keyboards for sale too but not sure I want to try that myself. I am going to call At&t but not sure if they will do a warranty swap for this. My wife has the same phone and hers are all fine and intact. I think parts of this phone were made on a budget. Bad design with the keyboard.
Does the Motorola HS820 Bluetooth Audio Headset work with the Blackberry Bold 9700? It is not clear to me if only Blackberry bluetooth devices work with the Bold 9700, or any bluetooth device. With the Bold 9700 recognize to ask for the four digit code when first aligning it with the HS820?
