Mar 31, 2010What is different between the two, besides no calls on IPad? wouldn't that make it an ipod touch?

old bold and new curve are the same price $50 9780 vs 9360
if given the choice which one would you buy and why?
Saw that HTC Evo 4G with ICS is now available on VM and it looks superior to the MT for the same list price.

System won't let me upload more. Rest to come tomorrow. I reckon it's a bit unsharp, it was very windy.
I've been using the Satio for the last months and I've been happy with it. It has an overall good build quality, nice UI and and impressive camera, even though the lack of sharpness and those boring smooth edges. However, I was flirting for some time the Nokia E72 and I decided to give it a try. I enjoy its build quality, size and qwerty. The only drawback in the swap would be the camera, or so I thought (the xenon flash is, obviously).
Before I sell the Satio, I had to do a photo comparison! And well, this comparison seems to be pointless and I'm sure everyone thinks that the Satio will perform much better. So did I until I came home, gathered the pics and started comparing them. Before the comparison please note that:
- The first is from Satio
- Full auto in all photos
- Satio photos: 12MP
- E72 photos: 5MP
- Flash: Off
- Image stablizer: Off
- All photos were taken with my hands as still as I could. Different shutter speeds in the same light conditions may cause blurriness and I'll also consider that since it may be important for the photo quality.
- Nokia E72 does not have lens protector and I just cleaned its' lenses a couple times during this. Its photos may suffer the consequences of some dust or grease in the optics.
- Satio is updated to the latest generic firmware
- E72 was not updated yet and is branded to T-Mobile.
What do you think? Is there a 7mp size difference here? Curiously, in some cases, the E72 photos became with a bigger size than the Satio's. You can check all the comparison photos I took here. In these photos, the "s" means that they are from Satio and the "e" that they are from the E72. In the underscored photos "e0001_1" I've increased the sharpness level to "hard".
just purchased the new iPad but have pictures on an iPad 2 that I am going to give to my son. How do I transfer the photos from the old iPad to the new one? Thanks.

I watched part of the browser comparison vid that compared the 9700 to the Torch, iPhone 4 and Samsung Vibrant, and that 9700 was not a good comparison as its memory was bogged down IMO. Mine loads pages about ten times faster than the one in that vid did. Faster than all those phones, at least it seemed that way. Maybe I can find people with them and compare side by side that way.

It is my goal to own two iPhone 4s tomorrow morning at 7am via my local Apple store without a pre-order. However, my girlfriend and I are currently on a Verizon family plan and despite me constantly explaining how the iPhone will be the best investment she will ever make (I even used to have my own iPhone at the same time as the Verizon phone), she still needs more convincing that AT&T is at least pretty similar to Verizon's service and monthly bill.
Shortened story shorter (the point): I'm looking for some type of up-to-date comparison chart/website to compare the two. I tried Google but couldn't find anything worthwhile. I have a feeling if there's anything out there, MR would know.
I just thought of something else. Incase Apple is so busy tonight that they don't want to cancel Verizon and set me up with AT&T until they "officially" open the store (10am), can I still just pay for the two phones and set them up with our old Verizon numbers and new AT&T plan at a later time? Obviously I would do this to insure I have the phones in my possession and won't need to wait until they have new stock.
Okay those are the two choices. What would you do get an iPad and keep your 32GB 3GS or get the 4G? I am going with getting the iPad option but am interested in what others opinions are.

View 14 Replies View RelatedHas there been any news of a jailbreak on the Ipad. I know its the first day, but didn't Hotz say that he would have a jailbreak for the Ipad on the first day. Correct me if I'm wrong.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI'm not exactly sure if I'm correct, but on my iPad, the wifi doesn't disconnect after you put it in standby, but the iPhone and iPod touch does. Any cydia apps that will accomplish this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI couldn't find a definitive answer to this question, so has anyone here tried to put your iPhone 4 micro-sim in an iPad 3G? If so, did it work and let you use your iPhone data plan?
View 24 Replies View RelatedIf i had the money to buy an iPad id want to put it into my dashboard of my car. That would have been a better idea for apple to market the iPad. That way you can have a music player, gps, maps, watch videos, not sure what else but on a big screen like that in the car would be nice. I think iphone and ipod touch are too small to use in the car. I dont know why apple didnt think of doing this in the first place. Be able to put it and detatch it from the dashboard cuz you wouldnt wanna leave it in the car. Another good thing to use it as would be like an mpc with intua beatmaker app if you make music. It would be way cheaper than buying an mpc. What would be some other good uses for it?
View 15 Replies View RelatedWho said Ipad is missing a phone? Just installed Truphone app and now I can make free calls via wifi. Also has built in built instant Messenger. The quality of the calls is great. I just think it's just shows that Ipad soon will have all the missing features everybody is complaining about.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI am sure that someone here has figured out how to do this. I have a WiFi iPad, a 3Gs iPhone running 3.1.3 and baseband 5.12.01. I also have the older 3G iPhone with no SIM. I want to get 3G access through either one of these phones or perhaps get an Android based phone that can be rooted. So my questions are:
Is it possible for me to get a SIM to put into my older iPhone 3G and then use it on my current Rogers plan in which I have the 6GB data plan? Rogers says no.
I understand that there is no current jailbreak for the 3GS that I have. Will I be able to purchase a Droid phone and then root it as per the instructions here http://www.notebooks.com/2010/04/22/...nnected-to-3g/
Any other suggestions?
Chinese pianist Lang Lang headlined a concert at San Francisco's Davies Symphony Hall on April 19th. For the first of three encores, he played The Flight of the Bumblebee on an iPad. To accomplish this, he used the Magic Piano iPad app. This is just one example of how amazing apps can allow people to do amazing things, and the party has just started.
[To clarify, the Magic Piano app does do a lot of the work in playing a piece like that; it drops down indicators for the correct notes, so the pianist has to get 'pretty close' and have the rhythm correct. Still impressive
I think one of the biggest reasons the iPad didn't have a camera in the first generation is because it would directly compete against the iPhone and it would be a great "feature" for next year. I have both a iPad 3G and an iPhone 3GS and I love both. Do you have an iPhone and have an iPad? Will you get an iPad and still stay current with iPhone? Will you get an iPad and choose a different phone/carrier?
View 15 Replies View RelatedI have the iPhone 3GS, iPad 3G, iPhone 4 and a micro sim adapter.I would like to use the new micro sim from the iPhone 4 to use on one of these three devices at a time as I choose. Is this possible? I'm aware of the changes to the iPad APN that needs to be made. Also, if the new micro sim will not allow me to do it, can I just cut my exising sim from my 3GS and use on the iPhone 4 instead? Main concern is AT&T detecting and either charging me additionally or disabling data plan on my account.

No I'm not talking about using my ipad charger for the phone.
I'm talking aboutuseing the battery in my ipad to pass charge to the iphone. Possible?
There is an obvious need for this to support using the phone as a personal hotspot (which drains the battery fast) - so it seems to me Apple must have made provision for this.
