Nokia :: Select Button Keeps Flashing?
Jan 2, 2010I have no unread messages or connected to any emails or internet conmnections but the select button constantly flashes can anyone help?

Nokia :: 5800XM Touch Screen - Clicking Dial Pad Button Will Actually Select Contacts Button
Jun 21, 2010My touch screen has been playing up for several weeks nowWhen I try to touch the main screen it will select an area to the right of where I am touching, i.e. clicking the dial pad button will actually select the contacts button, clicking 'answer' on the keypad will put the caller on hold etc etc. Other times the scren will not respon at all.
The funny thing is, when I remove the phone's plastic casing, the touch screen works fine! Similarly, if i push the top part of the case to the sides (so it is not in contact with the digitiser) the touch screen will work again until my phone goes on lock and then when I unlock it the touch screen is stuffed again.
I'm not sure if this is a software or hardware problem. On one hand its as if the plastic casing of the phone is rubbing (putting pressure on) against the side of the touchscreen and causing it to not work (hardware) while on the other hand it could be software in that the problem keeps happening everytime the screen goes to sleep (it's not initialising right).The other problem which started at the exact same time is that the green button is not working sometimes when I try to answer calls or turn off my alarm.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should try? I've already done a hard reset. The next step is to buy a new digitizer/plastic case and see if that solves the problem.

When mobile phone Nokia E52 is leave to close the screen light, the light of the selection button is flashing by one flash each 10 secodns, I mention cause are not missing phone or missing messeges. Is this flashing normaly or this menas somenting. On other models of this phone is the same, or I have to do something to close this flashing.

I can still scroll around the screen with it, but when I push it to "select" it does nothing. Feb 15, 2012I dropped my 9810 in cup of soda and have had it in a container of uncooked rice for 4 days.It's has completely dried out. I turn it back on for the first time, and all my new notifications appear, but unfortunately I cannot access them because my touchscreen function is not working nor is the select button working.I was hoping I would just turn my device back on and everything would be working as normal, but I guess that was wishful thinking.

May 30, 2010from Belgium, traveling in the States - using the 5800 XpressMusic. I'm unable to get a right network (to make phonecalls and text). Doesn't matter if I use the Dual Mode, UMTS or GSM. When I manually search, it gives me 2 options; AT&T and T-Mobile. When I request either one of them it tells me that I don't have access. What am I doing wrong? May 16, 2010I've recently purchased an X6, it's a great phone. The only problem I'm having is sorting out the connection settings for my emails (under the Messaging menu). I don't seem to be able to select an access point. My default connection is my home WLAN In my Internet access point the priorities are:
1. Home WLAN
2. 3G
3. GPRS
This works perfectly for all other apps and the internet; but under Options > Settings > Email > Mailboxes > *select mailbox* > Connection settings > Incoming e-mail > Access Point in use. I can only select specific connections, there doesn't appear to be any option to select my Internet access point? It's currently set to "Default Connection" which means it uses my WLAN nicely. But when I leave the house it doesn't work without manually navigating through all those options above which is pretty inconvenient. Am I missing something, or do I really need to do that each time I leave the house and return?

It's like the original received email is locked and the only dynamic portion of that email is any URL link.

May 1, 2010When I try and change my ringtone on my N97. I go into the profile & generalize then I look at my list of songs but when I click on the one I want to use it says 'unable to select object'. Also sometimes it does let me use one eventually (after i select it about 10 times) but then when my phone rings it's just the normal nokia ringing tone. Can anyone advise how to use songs as ringtones and how to keep that tone being used?

Jul 6, 2012Have had this phone for a couple of years - i haven't done anything recently that i think may cause this problem.Today a message comes up every few seconds asking me to select an accessory (headset/headphones/lineout/music stand) - it thinks i have something plugged into the audio socket. I do not! I have not used the audio jack for at least a year!I have rebooted it & taken the battery out. I've also reset to factory settings & reinstalled the software, but still i have this problem.In this state, the phone is not usable since this message constantly gets in the way.Earlier on today the problem was different, a symbol came up at top right meant a headset was connected (when the truth is it wasn't). This meant i couldn't use the phone to call people as we couldn't hear each other. After this, i changed some bits in the accessory settings & now i have the problem i described at the start of this message.
