I have got problem starting today. I can not make telephone calls - I can not ring telephone numbers or receive other calls. All other things works ok - sms, web,... When I try it, telephone always switch off. I tried to install new software but it didnīt help. I also tried to use other sim card but the problem was the sam.
View 1 RepliesI bought my 5530 xpressmusic a couple of weeks ago. and it works just fine with me. until last week, the network operator logo at the top of homescreen disappeared as well as the date and my current profile setting. the only thing left at the top is the signal bar, time, and the battery bar.my friends call me often and i seem to have no problem with taking incoming calls, so i just left my homescreen that way. last night, when i tried to call my mom's phone an error showed up and it says "Emergency Calls Only". must've accidently clicked something to make it that way, but i dont know what. what should i do?

I got this problem with my N97 which can't make & receive calls but still can send & receive message. This problem happen after a few days i upgraded its software ver from v21 to v22. I've tried reinstall back the v22 but still didn't work. I try to reset it to factory setting, but still not working. When I try to dail no its say "not allowed". Other function seems good.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI really like this phone for first few days I had it, but I'm having problems with making calls and receiving calls when I wake up in the morning. The phone is fully charged or is charging before I go to sleep. The problem I am having is when I wake up I noticed that I can't make calls. The phone works and is functional, signal is strong or decent, but when I make a call, I can't hear anything. I'm not actually sure if it makes the call or not since I can't hear anything. I'm assuming it doesn't since I don't receive my early morning calls either. I have to restart the phone to get the phone fully functional again. So far it's happened all 3 nights I had the phone.

After the update, the phone will not send/receive phone calls/text messages after it has been sitting in locked mode (the screen displays the default clock) after about 30 minutes. Once I have restarted the phone it works properly until it returns to the locked mode. I have performed a factory reset on the device with out any luck.

View 1 Replies View RelatedDetailed log of re-occurin issue:I purchased the nokia 5530 in december 2009.In late march 2010, I added a screen protector to the phone.I also upgraded to the 2.0 firmware.Then in April 2010, phone started to switch of when making a call or answering a receiving call.After googling like crazy, removed the screen protector, reset the phone using the codes from this site. Phone worked for 2 weeks no problems.After the 2 weeks it happened again, I repeated the process and it stopped switching off. The screen protector was never replaced thinking it might be blocking the proximity sensor.In late may I updated to new firmware 3.0. Phone was functioning normal at this time.Now it's june and problem started re occuring since the 10th of june.I am unable to answer or make calls with this phone despite my many attempts using reset and factory reset , removing memory card and switching sim with a new sim card etc.So far, the only way it works is with the headset plugged in, but this is a temporary fix. Once the headset is removed during the call it switches off.Also it also crashes when making skype calls which i also installed in may. I used skype for most of may and june, with no problems.My sister also purchased the same phone at the same time, from the same vendor. She never updated the firmware and also has a screen protector installed. Her phone has no problems whats so ever.

But i was on the phone for 15 minutes this morning when the phone got uncomfortably hot and the battery suddenly drained completely so it died. The next time i tried phoning someone for roughly the same time it got so hot it started to smell. Has anyone else had this problem or does anyone have any idea what might be the problem? All i can think of is that maybe its the battery?

Right now the touch screen is completely unresponsive and reseting taking out sim and memory cards have no affect. I think the problem could be fixed if i do a hard reset but the send and end buttons dont work.
View 5 Replies View RelatedHave had this phone for a couple of years - i haven't done anything recently that i think may cause this problem.Today a message comes up every few seconds asking me to select an accessory (headset/headphones/lineout/music stand) - it thinks i have something plugged into the audio socket. I do not! I have not used the audio jack for at least a year!I have rebooted it & taken the battery out. I've also reset to factory settings & reinstalled the software, but still i have this problem.In this state, the phone is not usable since this message constantly gets in the way.Earlier on today the problem was different, a symbol came up at top right meant a headset was connected (when the truth is it wasn't). This meant i couldn't use the phone to call people as we couldn't hear each other. After this, i changed some bits in the accessory settings & now i have the problem i described at the start of this message.

1. Sometimes cannot accept calls - Error shown is request rejected
2. Music library get corrupted.
3. Camera doesnot flash on its own in low light.
4. Hangs quite a times.
5. Use OVI maps only to restart your phone.
6. Sensor controls are bad.
7. Installing a few applications gets it slow.
8. Clock doesnot display its time on the home screen.
I am seriously annoyed by this.First I did the update myself.I then visited a Nokia Care centre and the version was reinstalled. I still have the same problems. I have done it myself through the software updater and OVI suite. Thats means a total of 4 updates and still the errors are present.

The problem is, I formatted my handset a month ago but now when I check the Memories, it says Phone Memory 1.3 MB Free (Almost Full) while my Memory card's memory is doing good. how to tackle with this situation? Because when I connect my phone to PC and check the Phone Memory, I only find files sizing 89 kb.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI left my phone to charge one night before going to bed (pulled out the charger when it finished). The next morning the phone had shut down by itself and when I tried turning it on I got white lines accross the screen. That happened for a few more times (sometimes blue or green or red lines), and after I removed and put the battery back in the following has been happening since then : Starting the phoneWhite screen with Nokia logo shows upMessage "Phone start-up failed. Contact the retailer". Phone hangs. If I press the shut down button, lines appear and fade out before phone shuts down.
I tried the hard reset method, but either I am doing it wrong, or it just doesn't apply here. I tried connecting it to my PC, but it is not recognised (probably because a message to select PC Suite doesn't show up). The phone is a few months outside warranty, so it is not financially wise (or viable) to send it for repairs. I am an advanced user and I'm willing to try any flashing utilities guides to restore it to working condition. Could it be the battery needing a switch? I tried removing the memory card & SIM, but the problem persists.
