Nokia :: 5530 Overheating During Short Calls

Ive had a 5530 for about six months and ive never had any major problems with it until now. But i was on the phone for 15 minutes this morning when the phone got uncomfortably hot and the battery suddenly drained completely so it died. The next time i tried phoning someone for roughly the same time it got so hot it started to smell. Has anyone else had this problem or does anyone have any idea what might be the problem? All i can think of is that maybe its the battery?

The call log in my nokia 5530 is not recording missed calls, recieved calls or dialed calls.

Detailed log of re-occurin issue:I purchased the nokia 5530 in december 2009.In late march 2010, I added a screen protector to the phone.I also upgraded to the 2.0 firmware.Then in April 2010, phone started to switch of when making a call or answering a receiving call.After googling like crazy, removed the screen protector, reset the phone using the codes from this site. Phone worked for 2 weeks no problems.After the 2 weeks it happened again, I repeated the process and it stopped switching off. The screen protector was never replaced thinking it might be blocking the proximity sensor.In late may I updated to new firmware 3.0. Phone was functioning normal at this time.Now it's june and problem started re occuring since the 10th of june.I am unable to answer or make calls with this phone despite my many attempts using reset and factory reset , removing memory card and switching sim with a new sim card etc.So far, the only way it works is with the headset plugged in, but this is a temporary fix. Once the headset is removed during the call it switches off.Also it also crashes when making skype calls which i also installed in may. I used skype for most of may and june, with no problems.My sister also purchased the same phone at the same time, from the same vendor. She never updated the firmware and also has a screen protector installed. Her phone has no problems whats so ever.

I bought my 5530 xpressmusic a couple of weeks ago. and it works just fine with me. until last week, the network operator logo at the top of homescreen disappeared as well as the date and my current profile setting. the only thing left at the top is the signal bar, time, and the battery bar.my friends call me often and i seem to have no problem with taking incoming calls, so i just left my homescreen that way. last night, when i tried to call my mom's phone an error showed up and it says "Emergency Calls Only". must've accidently clicked something to make it that way, but i dont know what. what should i do?

When I call someone or when I get called I can't hear the person talking, unless I plug in my earphones or put it on speaker.Funny thing is, yesterday it worked just fine and I haven't dropped it or something.

I have got problem starting today. I can not make telephone calls - I can not ring telephone numbers or receive other calls. All other things works ok - sms, web,... When I try it, telephone always switch off. I tried to install new software but it didnīt help. I also tried to use other sim card but the problem was the sam.

I have bought several E71-2's before, all of them brand new. I got one in today and the USB cable is like 3 inches long. What the hell was Nokia thinking and why did they change it. I also noticed it did not come with an SD card like previously.

I have just received my new Lumia 920 today.. Coming off a bad relationship with the E-7, the Lumia Looks good and feels good..HOWEVER, I have noticed that when holding the phone in my hand it gets quite hot? As well as the charger plug heats up considerably after about a hour.. Another issue I have encountered is that the drivers do not seem to want to work, im running windows vista, (not that great i suppose) but if i upgrade my OS to Win8 would it make any difference to the use of the phone?

i really hope somebody can help, posting on behalf of my husband who has just bought the xpress music 5800, he loves the phone but the one bug bear is that it only rings for 10 seconds before going to voice-mail, i have the same phone and have no problems as my voice-mail switched off but as he relies on v-m for work he needs to have it on! Is there any way of extending the length of time it rings or is it something he is stuck with?

I am trying to listen to an audiobook via my phone. The audiobook is in 45min mp3 files and I have used them fine from the computer and from other audio devices. However when I transfer them on to the 5130 I am only getting the first 4:50 of each file.Any ideas why this might be happening? and how to correct it so I can get back into my book?

I must be missing something, the headset (earphones) supplied with my X6 are absurdly short. If I want to listen to music I have to hold the phone next to my head. Any further away and the wire will pull out of my ears it is that short. In comparison to my ipod earphones (which aren't exactly long) the nokia ones are a 3rd the length. I also have some little square clip on player. The manual makes absolutely no reference to this so I can only assume it is a bluetooth player, though I don't know whether this needs batteries, or where the on button is for that matter. For something that is marketed as a music phone Nokia have done a fine job in making this the least practical mp3 player ever created. Can someone please explain to me why the headset is so short that it is redundant and what this mystery square device is. Says on the back ModelBH-214.

A longer cable can be gotten separately. But why make the users pay for yet another accessory that would be useless once they get their next non-Nokia phone? The cable supplied with the phone is too short to be useful for anybody using a desktop tower instead of a laptop. Sometimes I wonder how they come up with such brilliant ideas like this tiny cable when no other brands have been able to do such things yet. Then I replace 'how' with 'why' and keep wondering.

The phone has been dropped accidentally (from no great height and everything appeared to working fine) but now I've noticed the battery life will barely last 4 hours. Initially I put this problem down to the battery itself but after buying a brand new battery the same thing has started.
The battery will suddenly jump from half full on the indicator to empty, it'll then beep a few times over 5 minutes and then it'll be dead. On average I'm not having to charge the phone three times a day to use it.

Since my E71 was updated to the latest firmware (at a Nokia Service Center) around 6 months ago I have had a number of odd mail problems, which manifest themselves as follows: After an initial boot everything with mail and messaging works fine as expected. However at least once or twice a day the phone switches unpredictably into an odd mode with the following symptoms:
1) E-Mail key stops responding to short or long presses.
2) New e-mails and sms messages which arrive do not appear on the home screen as usual, though they may (or may not) appear as small icons in the top right corner of the screen............

I have a Nokia 3110c, excellent phone still working perfectly after 2 years.Recently, I switched from SFR operator to Orange operator. SFR uses 123 to access the voice message recorder, currently accessible through a long push on key 1. Orange uses 888, so I would like a long push on key 1 to trigger 888 instead of 123. Unfortunately, how to is not explained in the manual which deals only of keys 2 to 9. I also resetted the phone to Factory Settings, and even loaded "Default Operator Settings", hoping that that would include reprogramming of key 1 to 888. No way..

my son and daughter have the nokia 5530 aswell as my self, when i receive sms i have it set to receive 'by date sent' which is fine but when my son & daughter receive sms they have to scroll down to look for it, even though theirs is set to 'by date sent' any ideas how/why this is happening

So I just got my 5530 about 3 weeks ago and ever since it restarts so often. I was thinking maybe because I was using slideshow as my wallpaper or because it had too many songs and pictures. Is it because of those? Is it normal? But I actually don't think it's normal because it restarts like twice or thrice a day.

I've been using the Wifi on my 5530 since I got it in December and it's worked fine, but today, although it says that I am connected to my Wifi connection, it won't let me go onto the Internet. It says:"No gateway reply" I've tried with many different website URLs but its the same.

Ive got 5530 from January this year. Recently I updated my phone via the nokia updater. In fisrt 2 days it was ok, but now i see a BIG lag when multitasking(when i turn some music the menus LAG as hell) and a small lag when singletasking (kinetic scrolling). The phone has 2 installed games and skype, i dont think its because overload.

I posted this on the Phones section, but nobody answered, so here it goes:My girlfriend has a Nokia 5530 XpressMusic. Great phone, but there's a problem with Nokia Messaging (or Nokia Email, I don't know - see screen below).I've already set it up with her Gmail account, but when she tries to check her emails, instead of this nice screen, it takes shows the phone's Messaging folder, where there's no HTML for emails (and, I think, no push mail support).Besides, both the "Email" and the "Email setup" icons lead to the same place (setting up a new account). In my 5800, it shows the screen above, which has a much better interface.

I have a nokia 5530 xpressmusic phone, and im not receiving any texts. I only receive texts if im sending one or i restart my phone. Any ideas how to fix this? I've restarted it and done all that stuff to wipe it and stuff.. but its still not working, but my old sony phone works perfect for receiving texts so it cant be the network =/, any ideas?Sorry, ive rather wrote this out really quickly because im annoyed because this is the second time this phone has screwed up on me. And i really cant be bothered with the hole getting a new one and stuff!

When a mp3,acc file is assigned to play as a ringtone, the sound is distorted as if it was 'slipping' (old fashioned vinyl term!).All music files play ok on mp3 player/music application.
