I've been using the Wifi on my 5530 since I got it in December and it's worked fine, but today, although it says that I am connected to my Wifi connection, it won't let me go onto the Internet. It says:"No gateway reply" I've tried with many different website URLs but its the same.

Im using nokia 5530 and usually it goes slow and some of its apps stop working like music player hangs but remain playing. it slows down while sending or receiving messages even when messages are in outbox. Its RAM remains 80mb full even when no application running only 40-45mb is available. Sometimes its headphones' player buttons stop working and start working after restart.
View 10 Replies View Relatedi have a nokia 5530 expressmusic with firmware 20.0.080.i connect with it to the internet via wifi. typically, the first page loads fine. however the second page often fails to load, especially if it is not a very tiny website. clicking on a button does typically also fails. note that this also happens when browsing the ovi store, which should clearly be fully compatible with the nokia browser.
some examples:
for the ovi store, this typically means i can get to the page of recommended applications, but i cannot download one. when i'm lucky, i can get up to the place where i have to enter my account info.
for the site "webmail.telenet.be"
the site loads, i can enter my nickname and password and sometimes get a warning about the fact that it is a secure site and the question to remember my password. after which i get the error "no gateway reply".
directly after the previous error, i browse to www.wikipedia.org (the phone asks me gain to connect to the wifi network)
the site loads well. i type in the word "radar" and select the search function. the phone does something (as i can now select to stop loading the page" ), but i do not get to the next page. "no gateway reply"
i tried Internet (via the dedicated icon provided by nokia): same issue: first page loads, pressing the search button gets a no gateway reply.
in general, i get 3 cases:
- the phone keeps showing the progress bar for such a long time that in the end, i run out of patience
- i get the error "no gateway reply"
- the progress bar appears and after some time disappears again without any resulting action
i checked the following things:
- wifi connection: reception is optimal. other wifi equipment has no problems at all (laptops, logitech duet controller, etc). in addition, the first web page often loads well, showing that a working connection is present.
- i installed opera mini (via my computer :-) )to see whether the issue is browser related, but with opera, i experience similar problems.
- different days, different hours of the day: same issue
- acces ovi via link in the applications, via the mobile site or via the regular site: always problems
anyone an idea where things go wrong and how to solve this?
On my Nokia 5530 I get the message " wlan connection already active.please close all connections" although I am not connected and I can`t connect to the internet. If I want to restore to factory settings it says "please close all connections and calls". The wifi symbol is on top right corner all the time. I don't have the" disconnect wlan" option on the connectivity menu. What is the problem and what should I do? I haven`t upgraded the firmware or anything. It just started to do that.

Now, i had changed the WPA pre-shared key in the router, but i can't change the setting of my phone, so, it always pop up an invalid key message, i can't connect to internet. Is there any way to reset the key of a wifi connection?
View 4 Replies View RelatedOk so here is the deal, I'm using up-to-date(v. 20.0.080) nokia 5530 and today while I was using TuneWiki my WLAN got disconnected. So I tried to reconnect and found my wifi option completely gone. Now I can't even try to connect to WLAN, as if wifi option was disabled or erased. I already tried restarting the phone, resetting phone to original settings, removing battery for a while. I don't know what to do, so if someone dealt with similar problem please help or at least advice me what should I do next.
View 9 Replies View Relatedthis browser is said to be good at Internet videos on the symbian phones. well i got my hands on it.... and was disappointed! yes, the actual Internet looks great, but it lags very much. it's like, i have to wait for about 30 seconds for the video to pause after i press the pause button. it seems the video area is almost non responsive and the video itself lags.is this normal or am i missing something?

When i turned it off an on again it worked!So, im wondering if this is a phone problem or software problem? because ive only had it for 2/3 weeks and i dont wana be stuck with a faulty phone!

Phonebook -
You can save a same number to a new or existing contact. With my old nokia phones, when you try to save a number that is already in your phonebook, it will prompt you if you would like to either continue or update the number... but with the phonebook for the 5530, it doesnt prompt the user.
Logs-
i chose to keep the logs for the last 30 days but when i open my logs, it only shows the logs for aroung past 10 days.. i tried waiting for few hours for the information to load up but still it cannot go farther than 10 days.
Real Player-
i transferred video files from my PC to my fone.. when i tried to play it on the phone, it says file not supported.. i checked the file format and it seems that the format is listed on the compatible formats for real player.
i already updated the software of my fone but still the same problem
I am using WiFi internet at university which is accessed via a proxy. Although almost all the websites are accessible through PC except torrents, The following examples on my Nokia C7 won't just connect to network. Social Networking (Facebook) app from Ovi Shazam Nokia Drop Lyrics Skype Internet Radio I would like to mention that Mail, Ebuddy, Opera works perfectly on WiFi and Facebook is also not blocked.

I have it maybe two months, and just today the Wifi stopped working. Laptops, other smartphones and an iPod are all connecting to the modem just fine. Just my phone. It also keeps telling me my internet password is wrong, when it's not.
Finally, on Nokia's website, I believe, it told me to try resetting my phone. Did it. Still not working. Now I'm getting the error code: 805a0193 in the marketplace, so now I can't download any apps.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a very annoying problem with my Nokia 5800 XM and the Spotify-app. I updated the app to v. 0.4.3.9 yesterday and it required that I uninstalled the old version first, i.e deleting all my cached tracks. Now today when I'm going to resync (on WLAN, since it's about 500 tracks) it just won't connect. I choose the correct WLAN from the list, but the app continues being blue (not green) and then the list pops up again. I read another discussion about almost the same thing a moment ago, so I tried to go to the menu and check the WLAN connection from its menu. So I did that, and it says my WLAN has full signal strength (I'm right next to the router) but then it loses the connection and asks me again which network I want to use. I have not had any issues with WLAN in any other app, and I have synced tracks with Spotify on my WLAN before, so I have no idea where the problem lies. Maybe something with the update and my WLAN? I don't know...
About the attachments: The list that shows several times and then the WLAN list where I'm connected to my network and it has full strength. "Marsvinsfarmen" is my network.
I have a Nokia 5530 Express Music and I am asking: can I connect to the internet with my PC, using the phone's WiFi modem? The PC Suite only allows connecting to the internet through 3G. View 3 Replies View RelatedFor the last 2 months now my FB chat message feature hasn't worked in 3G/wi-fi.I have phoned my phone provider (Orange) and they say there is no fault at their end data wise. I have checked the settings through my Windows Live account that my Facebook account is sync'd/allowed to send messages via chat to my phone.I have checked my FB chat settings to see No settings have been changed disallowing FB chat through my phone. In fact this explains perfectly my problem, as one day FB chat worked perfectly, the next few days it worked intermittently, and then from then on it has stopped working completely. I cannot see any contacts, and my phone says"Cannot Connect to see who's online".

In fisrt 2 days it was ok, but now i see a BIG lag when multitasking(when i turn some music the menus LAG as hell) and a small lag when singletasking (kinetic scrolling). The phone has 2 installed games and skype, i dont think its because overload.

Great phone, but there's a problem with Nokia Messaging (or Nokia Email, I don't know - see screen below).I've already set it up with her Gmail account, but when she tries to check her emails, instead of this nice screen, it takes shows the phone's Messaging folder, where there's no HTML for emails (and, I think, no push mail support).Besides, both the "Email" and the "Email setup" icons lead to the same place (setting up a new account). In my 5800, it shows the screen above, which has a much better interface.

I've restarted it and done all that stuff to wipe it and stuff.. but its still not working, but my old sony phone works perfect for receiving texts so it cant be the network =/, any ideas?Sorry, ive rather wrote this out really quickly because im annoyed because this is the second time this phone has screwed up on me.
