I use TPlink wireless router as an access point to let my Nokia 5530 connect to internet. Now, i had changed the WPA pre-shared key in the router, but i can't change the setting of my phone, so, it always pop up an invalid key message, i can't connect to internet. Is there any way to reset the key of a wifi connection?

After that my service provider (Dialog GSM Sri Lanka) send me the MMS,and GPRS settings. But I cannot connect. It says connection not available WEB: anable to perform operation and when I tried to connect the wifi it asked the wap key and wont connect but the wifi icon is displayed on the top and I need to restart the phone to get red of it. This was working fine before.

While I can connect to BTOpenzone I am unable to connect to the internet and hence to the BTOpenzone log in web page.A blank screen appears with Javascript Probe written at the top a the screen.My question is can the 5530 connect to the internet via btopenzone? View 11 Replies View RelatedDetailed log of re-occurin issue:I purchased the nokia 5530 in december 2009.In late march 2010, I added a screen protector to the phone.I also upgraded to the 2.0 firmware.Then in April 2010, phone started to switch of when making a call or answering a receiving call.After googling like crazy, removed the screen protector, reset the phone using the codes from this site. Phone worked for 2 weeks no problems.After the 2 weeks it happened again, I repeated the process and it stopped switching off. The screen protector was never replaced thinking it might be blocking the proximity sensor.In late may I updated to new firmware 3.0. Phone was functioning normal at this time.Now it's june and problem started re occuring since the 10th of june.I am unable to answer or make calls with this phone despite my many attempts using reset and factory reset , removing memory card and switching sim with a new sim card etc.So far, the only way it works is with the headset plugged in, but this is a temporary fix. Once the headset is removed during the call it switches off.Also it also crashes when making skype calls which i also installed in may. I used skype for most of may and june, with no problems.My sister also purchased the same phone at the same time, from the same vendor. She never updated the firmware and also has a screen protector installed. Her phone has no problems whats so ever.
View 9 Replies View RelatedSo, my camera stopped launching. I fixed this yesterday by backing up my contacts and bookmarks and doing a reset (*#7370#).But then I noticed a few MORE issues with the phone that didn't exist before.
1. File manager. I can't copy files from one folder in my memory card to another. when i attempt this, the file manager spontaneously shuts down and redirects me to the main menu.Also, I can't seem to install any files on my phone. I'll start the installation, i'll accept the terms of agreement, i'll press continue... and then NOTHING. It just sits at the screen showing the .sis file i was trying to install. but nothing happens. i can't even delete the file b/c it says it's in use.
2. Image editor. i can edit images, but when i try and save them, the editor just closes and takes me to the image gallery. No saved image.
3. software update. the software update shows me a list of available updates like adobe flash lite, ovi contacts, shazam etc. I'll select a file to update, say for example, adobe flashlite.It'll say downloadin adobe flashlite (1 of 1) but the progress bar just WONT progress! it stays empty!
4. Settings>application manager>installation files.this will show an installation file for one theme that ...i'm not even sure i have on my phone anymore! at least, i can't find it on my memory card ( which is where it's supposed to be)which is strange, since i have a bunch of other installation files on my memory card which aren't showing up at all.it's perplexing. they should have a seperate forum dedicated to issues with the 5530, given the amount of trouble one has with it.
oh, i forgot the mention, my firmware is very much up to date. it was up to date before i performed the reset.but i updated it again last night, just in case that'd fix the issues above.it didnt.
Just got my unlocked 950, coming from an unlocked 1020. Having some issues getting hotspot working. Mobile hotspot worked fine on 1020 (T-Mobile).
On 950, I can start mobile hotspot and even connect to it from my laptop. It works for about a minute, speedtest shows that I am connecting from a T-Mobile device, and mobile hotspot on the phone shows that there is a laptop connected. But then the connection dies. When I check the phone at that point, hotspot shows that is in "off" state. Attempting to turn it on produces one of these errors:
On first attempt to turn it back on (from within the hotspot app): "Connection not shared. Mobile hotspot isn't currently available."
On subsequent attempts: "Connection not shared. There's no cellular data connection to share right now. Check your cellular settings and signal, and try again".
The pulldown settings menu shows hotspot as turned off. Toggling it does nothing.
Rebooting the phone is the only way to get the hotspot to turn on again. At that point it only works for a minute or so and then dies.
Of course, "Cellular Data" is enabled in settings. I am on a T-Mobile plan and tethering is enabled in my account and worked fine on my 1020 for about a year with that same SIM. Works fine on my Android devices too.
I've been using the Wifi on my 5530 since I got it in December and it's worked fine, but today, although it says that I am connected to my Wifi connection, it won't let me go onto the Internet. It says:"No gateway reply" I've tried with many different website URLs but its the same.
View 4 Replies View Relatedi have a nokia 5530 expressmusic with firmware 20.0.080.i connect with it to the internet via wifi. typically, the first page loads fine. however the second page often fails to load, especially if it is not a very tiny website. clicking on a button does typically also fails. note that this also happens when browsing the ovi store, which should clearly be fully compatible with the nokia browser.
some examples:
for the ovi store, this typically means i can get to the page of recommended applications, but i cannot download one. when i'm lucky, i can get up to the place where i have to enter my account info.
for the site "webmail.telenet.be"
the site loads, i can enter my nickname and password and sometimes get a warning about the fact that it is a secure site and the question to remember my password. after which i get the error "no gateway reply".
directly after the previous error, i browse to www.wikipedia.org (the phone asks me gain to connect to the wifi network)
the site loads well. i type in the word "radar" and select the search function. the phone does something (as i can now select to stop loading the page" ), but i do not get to the next page. "no gateway reply"
i tried Internet (via the dedicated icon provided by nokia): same issue: first page loads, pressing the search button gets a no gateway reply.
in general, i get 3 cases:
- the phone keeps showing the progress bar for such a long time that in the end, i run out of patience
- i get the error "no gateway reply"
- the progress bar appears and after some time disappears again without any resulting action
i checked the following things:
- wifi connection: reception is optimal. other wifi equipment has no problems at all (laptops, logitech duet controller, etc). in addition, the first web page often loads well, showing that a working connection is present.
- i installed opera mini (via my computer :-) )to see whether the issue is browser related, but with opera, i experience similar problems.
- different days, different hours of the day: same issue
- acces ovi via link in the applications, via the mobile site or via the regular site: always problems
anyone an idea where things go wrong and how to solve this?
I got my Nokia 5530 in December last year and after a hard reset and some sotware updates the problems continue to come back. Right now the touch screen is completely unresponsive and reseting taking out sim and memory cards have no affect. I think the problem could be fixed if i do a hard reset but the send and end buttons dont work.

If I want to restore to factory settings it says "please close all connections and calls". The wifi symbol is on top right corner all the time. So I tried to reconnect and found my wifi option completely gone. Now I can't even try to connect to WLAN, as if wifi option was disabled or erased. I already tried restarting the phone, resetting phone to original settings, removing battery for a while. I don't know what to do, so if someone dealt with similar problem please help or at least advice me what should I do next.

I can only use the wifi if i go to settings>connectivity>wlan. If i go straight to internet, it tries to connect to t-mobile internet. This also happens when trying to use applications such as bbc iplayer and the ovi store.
Is there a way of setting the wifi connection as the default connection? If not, is there a way of setting up my applications so they connect using wifi?

I have noticed that sometimes the phone downgrades my data connection speed to EDGE and it only shows up the HSPA icon again if I turn off-on the phone. In a free pubic hotspot that doesn't require a key, the phone could find the network but couldn't connect (with an error message J007). In my home wifi network with a wep key, the phone couldn't connect either but with a different error message w002. It's been connected to 2 wifi points at work and home and has only been connected to 3g twice, for 30 minutes each time. I haven't even been heavily accessing apps.
In that time my data allowance has fallen from 83mb to 56. I can't understand why this would be so high. 27mb used in a day when I've been connected to Wifi points for most of the day... When I have the same sim card (network: three) in my iPhone 4, the equivalent usage is on average less than <3mb when I haven't been actively using the phone
I personally don't think that I should have to turn off data connection because Nokia doesn't know how to prioritise wifi over my data connection. I have a limited allowance, and having to switch data connection on/off all the time is annoying, for something other phones get right.
If I'm connected to a Wifi point, my 3g data connection should NEVER be used...
At school we've got a Wi-Fi connection. To connect to the network, you need a pre-shared key (PSK). I've got the key, that's not the problem. My problem is that the key is 64 characters long. When I enter the key I get an error: 'Pre-shared key must be between 8 and 63 characters long.Does someone have a solution, so I can enter the key?

I am able to browse the internet and everything else but my email will not sync. I have tried changing my email connection to use, GoRogers, Rogers Media and Rogers Internet. Gorogers and Rogers Media connect but they don't sync. Rogers Internet does not connect at all with any app I use. I use gmail btw. I live in Onatrio Canada if that helps any. I am really really frustrated with this as I got a data plan mainly for email.

I then spotted an issue where I wasn't able to browse the internet (or any other internet application for that matter) without disconnecting the WiFi connection every time I want to load a new website or load a new page in the Ovi Store. The Router I am using is only running 54 Mbps, and I'm now using it with the password disabled, just to try if that changed anything, it didn't. I havn't been able to try using a 3G connection yet, as my service provider has somehow failed at supplying me with it at the moment.

But recently, whenever i try to add an WiFi access point, it puts it into the "Uncategorised destinations". I have a very annoying problem with my Nokia 5800 XM and the Spotify-app. I updated the app to v. 0.4.3.9 yesterday and it required that I uninstalled the old version first, i.e deleting all my cached tracks. Now today when I'm going to resync (on WLAN, since it's about 500 tracks) it just won't connect. I choose the correct WLAN from the list, but the app continues being blue (not green) and then the list pops up again. I read another discussion about almost the same thing a moment ago, so I tried to go to the menu and check the WLAN connection from its menu. So I did that, and it says my WLAN has full signal strength (I'm right next to the router) but then it loses the connection and asks me again which network I want to use. I have not had any issues with WLAN in any other app, and I have synced tracks with Spotify on my WLAN before, so I have no idea where the problem lies. Maybe something with the update and my WLAN? I don't know...
About the attachments: The list that shows several times and then the WLAN list where I'm connected to my network and it has full strength. "Marsvinsfarmen" is my network.
I have problem with nokia c5-03. My cell start automatic wifi searching, while i have disabled all posible option to search wifi automatically like (Show WLAN availibility = Never, Internet Connectivity test= Never Run). Beside these setting, i also delete all wifi Network destinitions. but still i found after every 2- 5 mins device prompts for available wifi connection. I dont was such prompt.

When I press on it the only options are Details and Delete the AP. I can't force the phone to connect to a specific AP, which would be nice.If I turn the phone off and on again, it finds the Wifi and connects to it just fine. But it really shouldn't be necessary to reboot it in the first place.
