I got my Nokia 5530 in December last year and after a hard reset and some sotware updates the problems continue to come back. Right now the touch screen is completely unresponsive and reseting taking out sim and memory cards have no affect. I think the problem could be fixed if i do a hard reset but the send and end buttons dont work.

Few hours after that the Touchscreen didn't respond and the buttons didn't work, just the lock button, and when I try to power the phone off it just come 3 alternatives Quiet mode, Flight mode and shut down, but I can't get further it just ends there and i waited 1 day to empty the battery and to update it, and i just can't update it because i can't get to the menu and put it in USB mode and the back button don't work so what should I do?

View 25 Replies View RelatedGot the phone in trade, so no warranty...Phone works perfectly fine before any of this happens. Basically got the nokia software, updated ect. Go to update the firmware and do what the instructions says. It downloads the firmware and starts to install...halfway through says cable disconnected. Clearly it is not, but i do what the instructions says to reconnect it. It tells me to disconnect, take out batter, reinsert usb then battery and then hit retry. Works, but same problem, halfway thought it "disconnects". After trying this about 5 times i give up. I hit cancel. Now the phone is dead, nothing, can't hard reset, can't turn on. NOTHING.Currently have the phone without battery as someone online (googled) had similar situation and he left the phone for 6hours and it magically worked again...i don't think it will work but i have to try...

View 1 Replies View RelatedI updated the 5800xm to the new firmware v40.0.005. Everything seems to work, except for a small irritation. There are some entries in my calendar and reminders are set.When a reminder is due, a window pops-up with audible alarm for the calendar entry.
To dismiss the reminder, I have to unlock the touchscreen and select from the 2 options (don't remember the exact names).But, after unlocking, the buttons don't respond.. The touch/tapping seems to be registered, but the alarm still persists.The only button that seems to be active is the Red one, which puts the alarm in 'snooze'.. and the alarm repeats every 5 minutes.
After the alarm is 'snoozed', the keyguard again goes to 'locked' state. Further unlocking and working on the phone works ok, except on the calendar reminder option..
I have a Nokia 5530 XpressMusic that is 3 months old And I've had no problems with it until recently.It has come to my attention that When I send smiley faces or winks such as ^___^ or ^___~, the ^ and ~ signs do not show up to whomever i send the text message to and only the underscore ___ is seen by the reciever. In my inbox it shows those symbols but in the reciever's inbox it's just an underscore. I'm not sure if that happens to other characters since i mainly use those two.I update the software/firmware (I'm not familiar with the terminology) frequently. So I'm not sure if this problem is just the phone that I recieved or if not all phones could recieve the ^ /~ sign (i doubt it though).
View 7 Replies View RelatedI bought my 5530 xpressmusic a couple of weeks ago. and it works just fine with me. until last week, the network operator logo at the top of homescreen disappeared as well as the date and my current profile setting. the only thing left at the top is the signal bar, time, and the battery bar.my friends call me often and i seem to have no problem with taking incoming calls, so i just left my homescreen that way. last night, when i tried to call my mom's phone an error showed up and it says "Emergency Calls Only". must've accidently clicked something to make it that way, but i dont know what. what should i do?
View 5 Replies View RelatedDetailed log of re-occurin issue:I purchased the nokia 5530 in december 2009.In late march 2010, I added a screen protector to the phone.I also upgraded to the 2.0 firmware.Then in April 2010, phone started to switch of when making a call or answering a receiving call.After googling like crazy, removed the screen protector, reset the phone using the codes from this site. Phone worked for 2 weeks no problems.After the 2 weeks it happened again, I repeated the process and it stopped switching off. The screen protector was never replaced thinking it might be blocking the proximity sensor.In late may I updated to new firmware 3.0. Phone was functioning normal at this time.Now it's june and problem started re occuring since the 10th of june.I am unable to answer or make calls with this phone despite my many attempts using reset and factory reset , removing memory card and switching sim with a new sim card etc.So far, the only way it works is with the headset plugged in, but this is a temporary fix. Once the headset is removed during the call it switches off.Also it also crashes when making skype calls which i also installed in may. I used skype for most of may and june, with no problems.My sister also purchased the same phone at the same time, from the same vendor. She never updated the firmware and also has a screen protector installed. Her phone has no problems whats so ever.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo, my camera stopped launching. I fixed this yesterday by backing up my contacts and bookmarks and doing a reset (*#7370#).But then I noticed a few MORE issues with the phone that didn't exist before.
1. File manager. I can't copy files from one folder in my memory card to another. when i attempt this, the file manager spontaneously shuts down and redirects me to the main menu.Also, I can't seem to install any files on my phone. I'll start the installation, i'll accept the terms of agreement, i'll press continue... and then NOTHING. It just sits at the screen showing the .sis file i was trying to install. but nothing happens. i can't even delete the file b/c it says it's in use.
2. Image editor. i can edit images, but when i try and save them, the editor just closes and takes me to the image gallery. No saved image.
3. software update. the software update shows me a list of available updates like adobe flash lite, ovi contacts, shazam etc. I'll select a file to update, say for example, adobe flashlite.It'll say downloadin adobe flashlite (1 of 1) but the progress bar just WONT progress! it stays empty!
4. Settings>application manager>installation files.this will show an installation file for one theme that ...i'm not even sure i have on my phone anymore! at least, i can't find it on my memory card ( which is where it's supposed to be)which is strange, since i have a bunch of other installation files on my memory card which aren't showing up at all.it's perplexing. they should have a seperate forum dedicated to issues with the 5530, given the amount of trouble one has with it.
oh, i forgot the mention, my firmware is very much up to date. it was up to date before i performed the reset.but i updated it again last night, just in case that'd fix the issues above.it didnt.

I've never had any problems with it that weren't easily solved by a quick reboot, but a week ago my phone started freezing its screen and being glitchy..I ignored this after i fixed it by rebooting it a couple of times by taking the battery out, but soon after it turned off completely and wouldn't turn back on. I plugged it into the charger thinking the battery might have died because it was showing the "goodbye" screen before it would turn off. After plugging it into the charger, it would restart normally, showing the battery charging symbol which usually stays there for about 5 minutes until the lock screen comes on. Unfortunately, instead of the lock screen coming up after this period of time, the phone would vibrate and then begin charging again.
