I have 6 people assigned to my contact bar. No matter who calls, I get the picture of "Chris". I do get the correct incoming phone number though. I am thinking I did something wrong at set up, but no idea what.

View 13 Replies View RelatedWhen I updated my 5530 XpressMusic phone to V20.0.080 it began to shut down when I pick up the phone. It even shuts down when I dial a number and the other side picks up.The only possible way using my 5530 as phone is by enabling the loudspeaker.Are there any updates fixing that problem? Does anyone else have the same problem?

The phone will ring, I'll answer the call and have the conversation, no problem. But when it comes to ending the call, the screen freezes with 'Joe Bloggs Calling' on the screen and I have to turn the phone off to resolve it. (no response from the screen)
View 12 Replies View RelatedI just bought my Nokia 5530.There are a couple of problems I have been having though- sometimes when I am making a call and want to end it before the person answers, the screen becomes unresponsive. Also sometimes when I am in the middle of the call and want to access the dialler (for typing in an extensions for example), the screen does not automatically come back up from its 'dark mode' and the only way i am able to end the call is turning it off completely.Is there something I should do to prevent this, or is my phone just defective? Help is needed because I think my local warranty is going to be up soon!

I have a question.Whenever the phone touch screen is locked, and if i get a call, i am not able to answer or reject it directly from touch screen, unless i manually unlock the screen using right side lever. Although i can see the Answer/Reject option in screen, when i touch them they don't work. Also the Green/Red options at bottom of touch screen are also not working.Similarly, when i set an alarm, i cannot snooze or stop the alarm immediately in touch screen when the alarm rings, unless i unlock the touch screen again manually.Can someone help how to get this working, or is it the design?

After finishing the call, the screen goes back to main menu.... but the contacts-app sticks active in the background. In order to close that, i have to long-press the button, switch to contacts, and close. Which is a little bit fussily.....
View 4 Replies View RelatedI wonder if anyone can help me. I am using the nokia 5310 and even though I am using a sim card with all my names stored in it, when I get a call or a text from someone who is in my phonebook it still just shows up as a number.
Also the names are not in order in my phone book.I am using this phone in Canada, and I got it from Ireland so the time on my incoming messages is 5 hours behind.So many issues!!
have 5530 model. contacts and dialer icon on homescreen does not work nor green call button. Only way of calling is going thru contacts within the menu and if it is not there then you have to set it up which is extremely long and laborious! I have updated software and reset factory settings to no avail phone is only 2 months old!

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have recently purchased an N97 in Australia, when I have incoming calls from my contacts, most do not display names.If SIM contacts are selected, the contacts are displayed but when copied to phone and editted ie; ring tones to contact, additional details, etc and then selecting phone memory as default the contacts are not displayed to most of incoming calls.By reverting to SIM contacts as default, you lose all the additional features of the so called "smart phone".There seems to be no rhym or reason to why some contacts are displaye and most are not! Can anyone help with this frustrating problem?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI came to Symbian S60 v.5 and Symbian Anna from Sony Ericsson (UIQ3), and I have found some shortcomings on the Nokia OS. F.i. if I need to open a contact from the call log or sms - I can't see a way to do that with Nokia OS. With UIQ3 this was very easy. In stead I will have to open the contact list and find the contact there. There are still some of us who use the device as a phone, and not an mp3-player or internet browser.

So I've set myself the task of finding out if this can be improved.Do I have to accept the artificial voice tags generated from the contact names? For example, my wife is "Looby Lou", the artificial voice is Stephen Hawking saying "Lobby Loo". So, I tried both "Looby Lou" and "Lobby Loo". I got one "No match found" and one "Ardalanish". View 4 Replies View RelatedOn the N8 user guide page 37 & 38, it is written that we can call/search for a contact by entering the contact first or second name characters by selecting each number key once for each letter but I am unable to do that on my N8.
There isn't any soft key to activate/deactive the "Contact search" under option which is also written on the user guide.
Our office recently bought a handful of the Nokia Lumia 880 phones for our "out of office" staff. These phones have all been updated to the latest versions of the software/firmware using Zune on a desktop.
There still appears to be a problem with incoming calls showing the incorrect contact. It appears to be ignoring the first 4 digits of the phone number and only matches the last part. We live in Australia and have to mobile syntax of 04 XXXX XXXX. Numbers saved in the phone are saved without spaces like: 0401234567
Here's an example of how to repeat the bug.
Say this is a friends number: 0450100200 and you have that saved in your phone as Friend 1
If you have a second friend with a similar number on a different network like: 0417100200 and Friend 2 calls you, the contact name for Friend 1 will appear on the call screen.
We tested this theory by adding my number into the phone as a brand new contact, but we changed the first few digits of the number. My phone number was not originally in the phone, but when I called, my name appeared on the screen, even though the number saved was different to my actual number.
I don't know whether anyone else has this issue, but I would like to get it resolved. It seems sloppy design for the numbers to be loosly matched like this.
I just got the Z3 and am having an issue with my contacts. When I go to select a contact to call it displays the fax number as default to call. Is there a away to change that? It does it for all contacts that have a fax number, the Phone icon shows up beside the fax number.

I was thinking maybe because I was using slideshow as my wallpaper or because it had too many songs and pictures. Is it because of those? Is it normal? In fisrt 2 days it was ok, but now i see a BIG lag when multitasking(when i turn some music the menus LAG as hell) and a small lag when singletasking (kinetic scrolling). The phone has 2 installed games and skype, i dont think its because overload.
