I try to update my N97 software. Right after that I find out my video camera is not working; my GPS map is error; can't get into OVI store(keep getting an error message). Worst of all can't even get on Facebook. I try all the reset method (hard/soft). But nothing work. Talk to Nokia and they said it's not their problem.... wt....f.....
View 4 RepliesMy step son has been doing something to my husband's phone and somehow his apple id/email address is displayed when trying to update apps through the phone. I've looked at most settings and our proper apple id is still in there in every other spot its meant to be, except when trying to update apps.

had to disconnect the phone after 3 hours of installation - seems that the phone never turned on after resetting! Phone is now dead! I get it to vibrate and the USB light flasshing for about 30 seconds, but nothing else. does not want to connect to OVI again.

The update was a success, however, now whenever he wants to type in his native Arabic it types from left to right not from right to left. The Arabic font shows correctly so it is supported but it seems there is this typing direction issue. Both of us live in Dubal and use Etisalat as our provider.
For some reason my clock keeps displaying the wrong time after I got the 5.1 update. I manually put the time in but it still does it.

For some time now when I try to update apps on my iPhone 4 the Apple ID it shows upon choosing to update an app is not my ID. The ID shown slings to another family member with an iPhone who uses the same Mac desktop (and thus iTunes) as I do. Another person asked this question but it wasn't answered. I tried signing out of app store in my iPhone settings (by the way, it said my apple ID was being used. By my phone!) and then signing back in with my apple ID, but that didn't work either--it stil asks for the password for the other apple ID when I try to update.

i was updating my e63 yesterday to v400 and at about 2 min left, my software updater roze and the phone stuck at blank screen. i pressed green, 3 and * button as it was xplained in faq, and i was able to boot up my phone. now, few things are missing,ike tiger woods game, facebook, Internet applications. they have shortcuts but not on the phone, maybe something else, but this things are noticeable. i can live with it, but what i can't live is connecting this phone to pc and sync, and future updates. ftware updater won't recognize the phone anymore giving me error "unable to retrieve device information". i disconnected the battery, tried to reinstall ovi suite and software pdater, but nothing works. today i took my phone to work, and was trying to run ater on this computer with clean install (never had any nokia software on isachine). same error message "unable to retrieve device information". the updater suggest to install updater (done!), unplug the usb (done!), remove battery for 10 sec nothing seems to work. well, the phone still works, even though i lost wlan in one of the restarts, but overall the phone is functional. i made calls, sent messages, installed few applications, listening radio right now.

After we reset apple id, we changed it in settings>store and it took it just fine. It accepted the new id/password in the setting and online; however, we then tried to update iPhone but it doesn't show the correct apple id/email address in the "updated apps" pop up screen, but shows up correctly in settings>store.

I've a Nokia E72 No-brand and I had a nokia E51 and both of these two phone seems to suffer of the same issue: the icon of the calls in call log, whatever is the type of the phone that I want to call or that has called me, is always the same: that one of the mobile phone! And this is very annoying because when there are contacts with more than one number type, it's impossible (or quite complicated and frustrating) to identify the correct number to call or that has called me (if I check the missed calls or recent calls in Call Log).
Besides I see that this bug was corrected with the latest firmware in other phones with Symbian S60 5th edition and my question is: why don't fix this very annoying bug also in devices with Symbian S60 3rd edition (like Nokia E72)?
Routing still needs improvement. It is taking me through wrong routes again. I thought this version will be like the routes of navteq.com but nothing changed. Still calculating wrong routes. Only navteq.com gives good routes, otherwise navigating using Nokia Maps is useless, Nokia is behind all its competitors of GPS devices. this is why I have Tomtom.

It is not such a big problem only when I searchfor adress I must type Slovenia in the end. But still it annoys me a little so.
View 4 Replies View RelatedJust had my N97 Mini repaired, got it back today (about 4 hour ago) first time I've come to use my phone and the keyboard is wrong. When I say wrong, I mean this, i will use the B key for an example. The B key, when pressed does a "B" like its suposto, but the shift key does a _ But the orange other symbol on the key is a %. Can I correct this without sending it back to nokia, because I'd rather not sent my phone off for more weeks on end.

When I receive an SMS, the display show the date of receive it on my phone and not the date send of the sms. This appen when I turn on the phone. Is a very issue and bug.Did you have the same problem?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently bought Nokia 5800XM and I have small problem. When I try to use Ovi maps and select My location it points me out to some place in London. First of all I thought its a problem with the GPS so I installed Google maps to check. The result was - Google maps application properly found my exact location(Sofia, Bulgaria, even the street was correct).Then I tried to remove all the maps and voice guidance files from my phone and installed ONLY the Bulgaria map and Bulgarian voice guidance file. However when I selected "My location" the GB(London) map was downloaded and the again I was pointed to some random location in London...
My phone software is updated to 50.0.005 and my Ovi Maps version is 3.04(updated today). Only Assisted GPS and Integrated GPS are enabled in App>Location>Positioning>Positioning Methods. I use the WAP services(HSDPA) provided by my operator(Mtel BG) to connect to internet.Is this some kind of hardware problem(in other words should I return my phone to the vendor) ? Or Ovi Maps are still in beta(or alpha) stage and can't be used for proper navigation ?
On my laptop screen (1280x800) OVI suite always starts up the same size which is too big for the screen even though I resized it the last time before exiting.Width wise it is OK filling almost the whole screen but the hight is too big with most of the icon of my connected 5230 phone at the botton being under the task bar. And since the sync button is lower than that I have to manually resize every time.Why does it not remember the resizes window and always start up the size and place I want like most other software.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI asked Patillilabs about a bug in Situations. I told them that I'd just downloaded the version from Nokia Store which is v1.0(1) and it still had a bug that was reported about a month ago.
They replied saying that v1.0(3) had been sent to Nokia Store but a bug in the Store app was preventing users from getting the correct version. I've uninstalled the app, rebooted, downloaded (from Nokia Store) again but it's still v1.0(1). How can I get 1.0(3)?
I am a Vodafone customer and the Customer Service no. is 111. There are 2 entries in my contact list viz. Name: Hxxxxxx with No.: xxxxxx111 and Name: Mxxxxxx with No.: +97xxxx111xx . When I sent an SMS to Vodafone No. i.e.111, in Log it shows sent to Vodafone Care but under the sent items It showed as sent to Hxxxxxx. Then I deleted the entry for Hxxxxxx from my contact list and sent the SMS to 111 again. This time in log it showed sent to Vodafone Care but under sent items it showed as sent to Mxxxxxx. Then I deleted the second entry too from the Contacts and tried again. This time under sent itemes as well as log it showed sent to Vodafone Care correctly. Why this is happening and how to rectify the same?

1. On a stretch of about 48 Km of mostly highways MAPS more or less gets lost and give me completely wrong directions, like "turn left" on the highway (not in the UK!). GPS signal is strong and even an external Bluetooth with better sensors does no help. It happens always at the same spots.
2. On some longer trips MAPS did hang for a couple a minutes, usually at crucial moments.
3. During this 48 km trip, which I know very well, I use MAPS mainly for traffic announcements, it gives me directions that are far from optimal, not for shortest route nor for the fastest. The routes in version 2 where correct.
4. It is impossible to keep the Bluetooth link with my Nokia CK-1W car kit up longer that 5 minutes. Usually It disconnected after a minute or 3.
I installed maps 3.0.8 a while ago and was working fine. I used weather widget frequently. Was in the USA last week, Belle came out for my N8 and I upgraded. Used weather widget there, and it showed me USA local weather for Wayne, near Philadelphia.I am home now in Novi Sad and weather widget still shows "Weather for Wayne'' and the temperatures and forecast are for Novi Sad. I tried to go put get GPS lock on Novi Sad in Drive. No change. I can not remove ''Wayne'' in any way I tried. I am having correct forecast and current temperature but I can not remove name of the location.
View 5 Replies View RelatedHas anyone else had issues with the Lumia 920 showing the wrong date and time? I entered both manually when I first set up the phone as the automatic setting did not work. After a couple days I noticed that the date had changed to 1st Sep 2012 and the time was a couple of hours out. I corrected but again a couple of days later the clock is a couple of hours slow and the date was 3 weeks out. I then changed the settings to "automatic" turned the phone off and on again and the date is a week behind and the time is 3 hours fast.

The first thing i did was to test the BT Connection to the BT speakerphone in an Opel Astra.Worthwhile the functions are different between the Omnia and the Lumia. The connection works. But with the Lumia I had no network operator display, no signal strength and can not even call from the car. How can that be for the same operating system? Unfortunately, this point is a big reason for a return of the phone.
