Nokia Lumia :: 800 Wrong Bluetooth Connection With Car Speakerphone
Dec 2, 2011
Yesterday I received in exchange for the Omnia 7 a Lumia 800. The first thing i did was to test the BT Connection to the BT speakerphone in an Opel Astra.Worthwhile the functions are different between the Omnia and the Lumia. The connection works. But with the Lumia I had no network operator display, no signal strength and can not even call from the car. How can that be for the same operating system? Unfortunately, this point is a big reason for a return of the phone.
I have a Lumia 920Does it have a speakerphone functionin the predictive spell advisor I've accidentally added a few word that are spelt incorrectly. IE
My E71 used to work fine in car hands free via bluetooth - now it pairs OK but then gives "unable to create bluetooth connection" message. Another E71 works fine.
I did try (twice) to e-mail Nokia care - each time I filled in all details only to get a Gateway timeout message when I tried to send it - and all details wiped out!
I switched to a new bluetooth headphones and the new headphones show connected to the Icon but I am not getting sound.. I am not able to test the old headphones to see if they still have sound as they will no longer hold a charge.
Nokia Icon received last week from Verizon. I generally like the phone and am excited about using it since I am a Windows user and want to take advantage of using my phone with Windows PC. Heard great things about this phone and wanted to try it after years of Android use. I have heard complaints about lack of apps but I am not an apps user except for the most basic ones. My problem is more with connecting to other devices. After receiving phone, downloading updates to installed apps out of the box, I have had problems with connecting/staying connected to WiFi. Had to reboot phone to get any recognition of networks. Working better now. Bluetooth is the current problem.
Phone does not recognize radio. Just searches and searches. Talked to both Verizon and Alpine Stereo. Alpine says I need to update a file since the head unit is four years old. Took Icon to my wife's brand new Escalade and it will not recognize it either. Just searches away. So, four year old or brand new units don't seem to have been set up for Windows phones.
I see that it's possible to use one's pc as a speakerphone through bluetooth. I'm not using the desktop software but the inherit software on the unit. I can type a number and phone from the pc but the pc speaker phone doesn't work??
Has anyone else had issues with the Lumia 920 showing the wrong date and time? I entered both manually when I first set up the phone as the automatic setting did not work. After a couple days I noticed that the date had changed to 1st Sep 2012 and the time was a couple of hours out. I corrected but again a couple of days later the clock is a couple of hours slow and the date was 3 weeks out. I then changed the settings to "automatic" turned the phone off and on again and the date is a week behind and the time is 3 hours fast.
I just bought a car dock. It works great. I can't seem to get the audio to be transferred to my blueant supertooth 3. The bluetooth works perfectly with the phone but the directions for the navigation won't come through. I don't have an aux plug on my car radio. Am I missing some setting or some nuance to this setup?
I have a Lumia 800 and have discovered a bug where the recipient name is wrong if contacts have very similar phone numbers. Example:
I have two contacts with the following phone numbers Contact 1. - 0703 246 802 Contact 2. - 0705 246 802 Note that the only thing differing the contacts is 0703 from 0705.
Regardless of whom of these two I send a text message they always show as being sent to Contact 1. This includes any History as well, they are all grouped into Contact 1 regardless of to which phone number I send the text message to. This is very annoying and it makes it impossible to see who actually had the message sent to when looking back at the history. I have tried moving the numbers around to different contact categories, changing contact name and so on, but it has made no difference to the behavior.
For some reason all of a sudden, my WP, Bing Maps, Facebook, has been showing my urrently location in Ohio, when I am in So Cal. However, when using Nokia Maps, it displays my location correctly.I have rebooted my phone, turned on and off location, but it still located me incorrectly. This is day 2 of this issue.
I have a new Nokia X6 and can not connect it via Bluetooth to any of my PCs, the previous Nokia 6300 did with no flaws whatsoever, this X6 is by far a better phone but can not even be detected by a PC.......Am I missing something ? (see attached for error message)
I installed ovi-suite on my windows XP laptop and tried to connect my X6 using bluetooth. I was able to punch in passcode on my X6. Then ovi suite simply won't continue recognizing my x6. I do see my laptop been paired in my X6, but ovi-suite simply won't continue to next step. After a while of "searching" ovi suite simply shows an error and the process continues. So how do I connect x6 to my PC with bluetooth?
N97 with all software up to date, same as PC Suite.
I can do "Connect to Internet" (from the tools menu) when the phone is linked via the USB cable. When it's on the Bluetooth, the option "Connect to Internet" is greyed out and not available.
Even if I go Tools -> Options, when I click "Connect to Internet" to configure something, PC Suite shows "You must connect your device to be able to change settings".
When I first took delivery of the N97 I had issues connecting it with the Audi BT Telephone interface. It took many attempts to get them paired. When the pairing was finally established, the N97 contacts were not uploaded to the Audi system. With previous phones (this had not been a problem with previous phones such as the 6500). The connection was also flaky - it would automatically connect for approx. 4/5 times at which point the automatic connection simply refused to work and it was necessary to delete the pairing and start all over!
I have recently upgraded the software in the N97 to v 20.0.019 (the latest available). There is no doubt this has resolved the non-uploading of the phone book - this now works well with the Audi and indeed works every time - that is if only I could get the phone to connect!
v20.0.019 may have fixed the uploading of contact information to the Audi BT phone system but it has made significantly worse the problem of automatic connection. Now, once paired, automatic connection is made just 1 or 2 times after which it is simply mot possible to re-establish connection. The ONLY way to fix this is to reload v20.0.019 to the N97. Once re-loaded, the connection is made and the contact information uploaded. GREAT! For a couple of times - then I have to repeat the whole process.
Incidentally, the Audi systems has no problem at all with the 6500, a Blackberry or the iPhone - it is ONLY the N97. The N97 BT connection to Nokia PC suite displays similar issues.
I use the phone with a MAC via Bluetooth and on my work with a Windows XP and PC Suite connected to Outlook 2007. It synchronizes wel,l everything comes in via the XP. But only once a day? A second sync says phone is not idle. Even if I force it. Strange enough the phone is always connected via Bluetooth and if I get a call I can see it on my XP. So bluetooth connection works well. But whatever I try I can only sync once.On the MAC it always works so it's not the phone I think. For the rest I have no issues with the E72 at all. Only GPS without data connection doesn't work. I have seen other remarks on this so I guess can't use it without a data subscription.
auto connection to in car kit ,have read through the help pages, and set to authorize, but will not patch in ,have to do it manually everytime, what a nightmare!! Am i missing something ,it seems to read i need to use a 16 digit code for auto connection, how can this be ?Has never been a problem with any other phone.
My phone will automatically prompt to confirm the request for Bluetooth connection from the CK-7w when I turn the car ignition. When I accept the prompt it would connect. For reasons unknown when I try now it emits two beeps from the car kit and does not connect. No messages etc. I only noticed that when the prompt appears the blue tooth symbol on the phone has two ellipses around it. When I push the phone button to accept the connection a light appears to flash where the confirmation symbol normally appears and then 2 beeps and ellipses disappear from blue tooth symbol on the phone. I updated to the latest firmware on about 6 March 2012 to resolve drop outs etc.
I can never connect my 3G 9300 bluetooth to the handsfree Nokia CK-7W first time. It always takes 6 to 10 tries before it will connect.I have trawled the web for answers but nothing I have found works. The strange thing is, the others phones that I have connect first time with no trouble, so it is not the handsfree equipment. Surely Blackberry must do something about this, I am far from being the only one.
After installing Anna on my N8, the Bluetooth connection between the phone and the CK-100 carkit is broken after about 5 minutes. Restarting the car and therefore the carkit makes a new connection which breaks up again after 5 minutes. My other Nokia phone stays connected all the time.
When I am using my GPS and the audio/voice function is on I cannot use my bluetooth connection for receiving calls (handsfree). When the bluetooth connection is on, I can follow my gps on my screen but I have no voice directions.Does anyone know if it is possible to use both functions at the same time?
As we all know Nokia has serious trouble with their new phone models and bluetooth. If you happen to have a system (phone and some other device) that are working together without any trouble, please tell your phone model (new), firmware and other device here. This way we might find devices that work together with our phones without spending hundreds of euros or dollars in vain in trial and error. At the moment I don't have any bluetooth device that would work together with my E52 without trouble, so I personally can not give an example to begin with...
I used PC Suite (latest version) with a bluetooth connection between a Nokia 6310i and a Compaq nx8220 laptop computer. No problem at all. Than I bought a Nokia 6303 Classic and tried to connect to the laptop. The PC Suite software does not recognize the 6303. The same problem with OVI Suite, which works with the 6310i. The Nokia 6303 connects with my Nokia 610 Car Kit, without any problem. I re-installed the PC Suite Software without any result. When I replace the 6303 with the 6310i again, than it works OK.

if it is possible to have automatic connection for a Bluetooth headset? My Plantonics Voyager Pro worked fine with my E71 just enable bluetooth on the phone and it connected. On my N8 I have to manually connect to the headset everytime, which is a pain.
Am I doing something wrong?, or is this feature not available on the N8?
Since I've had success on my last query I have another now. I have a Vodafone VBH-600, aka 6xx plantronics bluetooth headset and I cannot get it to pair with the 5230-"device not found" is all I get. Is it not compatible or like last problem is there just a simple solution?
I got a problem with the bluetooth. I can send files with it but I can't receive them. My phone can be seen by everyone when bluetooth are active, I accept the file that other people want to share and then a message such as "connection failed" or similar, appear on the phone of the other people. Someone told me that I should reset the phone, is it the right solution? Is a backup necessary before the reset? I need to transfer some job files.
I want to connect my nokia e 63 to internet via bluetooth but I don't know how. More exactly I didn't found gnubox working or another program or something...but only via bluetooth...
My Xoom has Android 3.1 and my Nokia N8-00 has Symbian. Are these OSes compatible? I can establish a connection from N8 to Xoom but when it comes to a real file transfer from N8 to Xoom I get an N8 message saying that transfer is not possible. Paircoupling from Xoom to N8 is not possible. observe that the two units are seen/recognized both on Xoom and N8./dan
i have an n8 which i am trying to use with a hid compliant bluetooth keyboard. i can pair the device without problem but when i try to connect, my phone keeps saying that it is unable to create the connection. i have seen some Internet videos that have shown a bluetooth keyboard working with the n8. i am using a keysonic ack-595bt keyboard.
