Let me apologize in advance if the topic already exist somewhere but I have a question. Does anyone know (or have same problem) why my GPS locates me in Myanmar even though I'm located in Slovenia? It is not such a big problem only when I searchfor adress I must type Slovenia in the end. But still it annoys me a little so.

I bought my Curve 8520 in Indonesia when I was living there. Now I'm back in Australia and when I call a (Australian) number in my contacts that has a 0 at the front, the phone puts the Indonesian country code in front. I have to input the number in full which is areal pain expecially as all mobile numbers start with 0. Is there some way to fix this?

With my E71x whenever I activate the driving directions after about 30 seconds I get an error that says "Not available in your country/region" and it goes back to the map. I'm using version 3.01 of nokia maps because 3.03 kept telling me I had no access to install it.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've used the Ovi Suite 2.2.0.245 and connected with N900 but selected PC suite mode instead of Mass storage. I read alot that you have to select Mass storage for N900, but Ovi Suite won't then be connected with my phone, but works with PC suite.
I wanted to transfer country maps to the phone so I can use it offline. Selected the Map and downloaded and it said transfered to phone...so everything seems good. But when I go to open those maps on the phone...I can't find them anywhere at all! I'm not sure where they are.....I've check the 'ovi map', then the 'cities' folder but nothing. There are other files there but not titled with the cities i've downloaded. I tried to open those files anyways (having a "?" as their icon) and then selected I think 'Application' or something as ways to open the file.....then needed to download but 0kb...??? it then said unable to download, the file could be corrupted. So now..I'm stuck.
I don't know where the maps were transfered to. Oh and I check on the Ovi suite Map tab and selected my device, and it should alllll the cities and countries listed in my device (phone) already....but I can't find/open them on the phone.
I have downloaded ovi maps to my phone but now I want to download the map of my country with pc suite. I cant get it to work. OVI suite does not work on my computer. Is there a way to download country maps without OVI SUITE?
View 4 Replies View RelatedCan somebody advise me how to load a map of Thailand into the E72 phone? When connecting to the Nokia Suite, map of Thailand is not available. But the other phone Nokia 500 could find the map on web and through "actualisation" and "add map" icons the map of Thailand could be downloaded. But the E72 does not offer the possibility of loading the map directly from net (could not find any icon "add map"). According to manual, E72 offers only loading the maps through the Nokia Suite (but this does not contain the Thailand map). To solve the problem means - how to force the phone E72 to be able to download the maps from net. Where is the problem - phone itself (should I upgrade the system) or the application Maps (should I upgrade the application Maps)? Seems to me unbelievable that (when the map actually exists) I could not get it into E72 phone.

I wanted to get the free navigation service and and connected my phone to ovi suite for downloading country maps. However, got the following error after clicking on the "update maps" section: Cannot find maps or voice guidance files in your device. this is due to either of the following reasons:
-Your device doesn't support the nokia maps application
- The maps and voice guidance files in your device are corrupted."
I have just got a Nokia 5230 and when using the pre-installed Ovi Maps after about 30 seconds of the voice assisted directions I get the message not available in this country/region. It is the 3.01 version. I have tried to down load the 3.04 version and it says that it is installed.

1. Can I see what country maps I have downloaded & saved on my N97 anywhere?
2. Whenever I went on the internet with my N95, I had a option how I wished to connect - my netgear router or Mobile web etc.
With N97, It chooses which one I have set on priority, but sometimes I dont want that one. Can I have it so that it asks me everytime I connect like N95?
I have nokia 5230 and a serious problem. After about one year of usage, the offline search of street names just did not work any more. I have made a complete software update yesterday. The new navigator said, there were no maps on my phone. When trying to download country maps, at about 40 % the grey downloading indicator at the bottom disappears and green download clock starts turning and turning and turning, nothing happens any more (every time same scenario). I have the newest ovi suite, even uninstalled and reinstalled it yesterday. Naigation was actually the only feature I use frequently.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI store my contact mobile phone #s in international format (ie +61 4xx xxxxxx) so they are accessable from overseas when I travel without having to edit. Outlook 2003 seems to put a space character by default after the country code, so these appear as +61 4xxxxxxxx in Outlook.When I sync my Nokia 6120 to Outlook this space then gets transferred across to the phone as the # for the contact.When I receive anything from the contact (phone call, SMS etc), the number I have saved for them does not exactly match the number that comes through (either because of the extra space, or because it will come through in Australian format ie 04xx xxxxxx) and the contact does not get recognised by the phone, and simply appears as the #, not the contact name.If I send an SMS first & this is replied to, it comes back correctly identified, but new messages etc from contacts are not identified.
Is there any way to remove the space that Outlook seems to put after the country code by default? And is there any way for the phone to recognise +61 4xxxxxxxx and +614xxxxxxxx and 04xxxxxxxx all as the same number for the same contact?
I try to update my N97 software. Right after that I find out my video camera is not working; my GPS map is error; can't get into OVI store(keep getting an error message). Worst of all can't even get on Facebook. I try all the reset method (hard/soft). But nothing work. Talk to Nokia and they said it's not their problem.... wt....f.....
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've a Nokia E72 No-brand and I had a nokia E51 and both of these two phone seems to suffer of the same issue: the icon of the calls in call log, whatever is the type of the phone that I want to call or that has called me, is always the same: that one of the mobile phone! And this is very annoying because when there are contacts with more than one number type, it's impossible (or quite complicated and frustrating) to identify the correct number to call or that has called me (if I check the missed calls or recent calls in Call Log).
Besides I see that this bug was corrected with the latest firmware in other phones with Symbian S60 5th edition and my question is: why don't fix this very annoying bug also in devices with Symbian S60 3rd edition (like Nokia E72)?
Routing still needs improvement. It is taking me through wrong routes again. I thought this version will be like the routes of navteq.com but nothing changed. Still calculating wrong routes. Only navteq.com gives good routes, otherwise navigating using Nokia Maps is useless, Nokia is behind all its competitors of GPS devices. this is why I have Tomtom.

Just had my N97 Mini repaired, got it back today (about 4 hour ago) first time I've come to use my phone and the keyboard is wrong. When I say wrong, I mean this, i will use the B key for an example. The B key, when pressed does a "B" like its suposto, but the shift key does a _ But the orange other symbol on the key is a %. Can I correct this without sending it back to nokia, because I'd rather not sent my phone off for more weeks on end.
The keys it affects are:

When I receive an SMS, the display show the date of receive it on my phone and not the date send of the sms. This appen when I turn on the phone. Is a very issue and bug.Did you have the same problem?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently bought Nokia 5800XM and I have small problem. When I try to use Ovi maps and select My location it points me out to some place in London. First of all I thought its a problem with the GPS so I installed Google maps to check. The result was - Google maps application properly found my exact location(Sofia, Bulgaria, even the street was correct).Then I tried to remove all the maps and voice guidance files from my phone and installed ONLY the Bulgaria map and Bulgarian voice guidance file. However when I selected "My location" the GB(London) map was downloaded and the again I was pointed to some random location in London...
My phone software is updated to 50.0.005 and my Ovi Maps version is 3.04(updated today). Only Assisted GPS and Integrated GPS are enabled in App>Location>Positioning>Positioning Methods. I use the WAP services(HSDPA) provided by my operator(Mtel BG) to connect to internet.Is this some kind of hardware problem(in other words should I return my phone to the vendor) ? Or Ovi Maps are still in beta(or alpha) stage and can't be used for proper navigation ?
On my laptop screen (1280x800) OVI suite always starts up the same size which is too big for the screen even though I resized it the last time before exiting.Width wise it is OK filling almost the whole screen but the hight is too big with most of the icon of my connected 5230 phone at the botton being under the task bar. And since the sync button is lower than that I have to manually resize every time.Why does it not remember the resizes window and always start up the size and place I want like most other software.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI asked Patillilabs about a bug in Situations. I told them that I'd just downloaded the version from Nokia Store which is v1.0(1) and it still had a bug that was reported about a month ago.
They replied saying that v1.0(3) had been sent to Nokia Store but a bug in the Store app was preventing users from getting the correct version. I've uninstalled the app, rebooted, downloaded (from Nokia Store) again but it's still v1.0(1). How can I get 1.0(3)?
I am a Vodafone customer and the Customer Service no. is 111. There are 2 entries in my contact list viz. Name: Hxxxxxx with No.: xxxxxx111 and Name: Mxxxxxx with No.: +97xxxx111xx . When I sent an SMS to Vodafone No. i.e.111, in Log it shows sent to Vodafone Care but under the sent items It showed as sent to Hxxxxxx. Then I deleted the entry for Hxxxxxx from my contact list and sent the SMS to 111 again. This time in log it showed sent to Vodafone Care but under sent items it showed as sent to Mxxxxxx. Then I deleted the second entry too from the Contacts and tried again. This time under sent itemes as well as log it showed sent to Vodafone Care correctly. Why this is happening and how to rectify the same?
