I seem to have problems copy and paste the music to my N900. I don't have such problem before with my old Nseries phones - like N80, N95, N96, and N97. First, when I copy the entire album, one or a few songs will fall under the "Unknown Album" category while the rest of the tracks (from the same album) are displayed correctly. Second, is the album art. Some albums I have the album art displayed correct at the album listing view. Some don't get displayed but in track view, the ablum art is there. Strange? It is kind of hard to get this to work. I can sort of live with no track repeat, hard to operate playlists, but having my tracks falling into different places are not acceptable. I am trying to transfer music to my N900 device but Ovi Music tells me it is connected in the wrong mode. It says" unplug your device and reconnect it, a menu will appear, and depending on the model, use one of the following: Media Player, Printing and Media and Media Transfer. The problem is that no menu appears on the screen of the N900. What should I do?
I am trying to get a definitive answer as have been researching this for weeks and despite my best efforts still have no solution.I am using the fantastic N900 (well done Nokia!) and would like all my music on the device. All efforts so far have transferred music ok but album tracks always appears in alphabetical order in the music player as opposed to the album track order(not much good). This is despite careful tagging and trying with Windows Media Player, Media Monkey & Songbird to see if any work best.
I found out today that this might be due to the file being a .wma file. All my music is ripped to my PC in .wma as in my experience I find the quality vs file size is great and better by far than .mp3.Today I ripped a CD with WMP as .mp3 and after sync the track order was correct (although I do not want to use WMP through choice and certainly not .mp3, let alone re rip my entire CD Collection), my preference would be Media Monkey or Songbird with .wma.
Is this a bug or N900 problem? (I know they are different but it worked fine on N97 and N95 8gb previously with MM and .wma) Can anyone help? or even offer a recommendation or suggestion as to what they think is best format, application or way to have music on the N900 etc.
there is no way to only sort by "album name", just a combination of "artist and album name" is accessible under options in the menu. This gives me problem since I have a lot of compilations with various artist names.I remember that it was some similar problems with 5800 XM, but fixed via an s/w release a long time ago...
Just purchased my first album on Google music and downloaded for offline listening. I'd like to transfer the album to my PC and then burn a disc. Is this possible? I connected my phone to the computer but couldn't find the album in any of the files. How I can get a CD burned?
I have tried and tried to get album artwork to display but can't.The N900 will automatically generate album artwork for certain songs that it "knows" - it will put them in a file with that song. I have copied that file to other songs - put the correct image for that song in the file - but it won't show in the media player - it will show in "Images." How do you get it to show in the media player and not images?
Using the MP3Tag program on my PC, I added an album cover (from my own jpeg image) then transferred it to the N900. Worked fine. Later I wanted to change the cover so deleted the original via the the MP3Tag program and transferred to the N900, but the original image was still used by the N900 media player. I even deleted the N900 folder containing this album before re-transferring it from the PC. I also tried searching the N900 while attached to the PC in Mass Storage mode and found nothing, and I searched ALL folders, files and file types, hidden and not, on the entire device, and it was still not to be found (yes, including the localmediaart folder). So even though I deleted the original image in the MP3Tag program's metadata files and on the N900 itself, that first cover art image still remains somewhere. I do know there are some files not visible/searchable on the N900 and that must be where this image remains. I did solve the problem in a undesirable way by re-naming the album in MP3Tag, then the new art appeared on the N900.Any ideas on how to truly delete a file on the N900?
#1-i have ringtones and test music files that appear in my music files and i dont know where they come from. #2-I also have voice files for maps in my music files. ironically though, the voice files are not working with maps....i want to remove them from my playlist but they are not showing up in the ovi suite?
how I can sort my music on N8 by album only. I have a number of compilation albums on the phone but because it stores it by album and artist I can not listen to the whole album but have to select 1 track at a time by each individual nartist
How does the N8 pick up cover art for the mp3?, I have a library of full albums in tradition folder structures with complete id tags and cover art fetched online through Amarok. When I copy the albums over, most of them show up with no cover art. Only the random few will have it. I am trying to figure out why so I can make them all work the way it prefers.
I attached some jpegs as album arts to mp3s using Itunes 10.4.1.10. When I copy this to my 8GB Micro SD and play it through Music player these photos won't appear and I am presented the default image of the corresponding theme applied. However these album arts appear on my Windows 7 explorer window...
why Four Thieves Gone by the Avett Brothers only has 16 songs listed at Nokia's music store when it's supposed to have 17. The last song, Four Thieves Gone is missing from the download selection?
Recently i purchased 2 albums containing songs marked as "available only as a part of an album". On the download page the download buttons for these songs appear inactive and in my download history they appear active but don't work. Clicking them only blocks the entire page. Is it a bug or maybe these songs are downloaded in some other way?
I've bought an album, and it won't let me download about 12 songs, saying they can only be downloaded as an album. I paid for the album but it won't let me have the songs I paid for.
Is there any option so that we can sort the songs by Albums. I know we have got a option " Artists and albums". If we use this it will sort with Artists first and below it will show the Album name. I live in India, and here we generally listen to songs by movie/album wise not by artist.... I having nightmare in searching the albums as they are sorted by artists first..... I also use Nokia 5800 XM in that we got seperate option "sort by Album" but it is combined with artists in Nokia Symbian^3 phones.....I love the new music player the way it shows the album arts but the only thing is it removed the sort by Album option..
I've just started using Ovi Player and every time I try to rip a CD, it cannot find the album details and artwork and says "Information for this CD is not currently available". The internet is definitely connected.
So the much awaited belle update is out, however the music player somehow STILL does not sort by album title properly. So here we are, with more than 10 gigs of music all scattered in the music library with album artists names and what not.
I deleted all the "unsatisfactory" music that was preloaded on my e71 mini using the delete function in the music player and it said the files were deleted but it still shows the album names.
I have a Nokia 5800 express music. I had some trouble with it, when I turned it on, it just startet vibrating without starting, so I got that fixed. Now it won't update or transfer music. Since I got it back from the Nokia store, it have not been working with update on my computer. While it was repaired I also installed Windows 7.
OK, so we all know Ovi player is, uummm, a bit flaky?I've given up trying to use it and am now using Windows Media Player to transfer music to my X6. This works absolutely fine other than getting the album art onto the phone.
Can somebody please tell me how I can use a music track which is in my N900, as a ringtone. There doesn't seem to be any way of moving tracks into ringtones, or is it just me?
I recently got a Kingston 16GB Class 4 microSD (from a reputable source - not ebay - and yes it is a genuine 16GB microSD) for my N8 and want to transfer my music to it, to free up space for photos and video on the phone itself. What I thought should be a simple process, thanks to Nokia, has turned out to be a non-trivial exercise.I naively copied my MUSIC folder to the microSD (F), and then deleted the MUSIC folder on the E drive, and refreshed the library. It went through the process of seemingly refreshing for ages, number of tracks clocking up, but then told me the music library was corrupt and showed nothing. After playing for a while, I decided to reverse the process, put my music back on E and deleted the MUSIC folder from the F drive. Refreshed library and I was back to square one (thankfully), and everything worked as before, but, of course, I still hadn't got my music across to the microSD.
Then I searched these forums and found loads of people had had the same problem. It seems that, (as is often the case) the refresh of the library has bugs, and keeps old files somewhere on the device that should be deleted by the refresh process for it to work properly, but hang around causing problems (thanks Nokia - your software guys strike again)Despite trying to find these 'private' folders, they do not appear to be anywhere on any drive on my N8 (and, yes, I did have show hidden files set)
So, simple question is, how can I successfully transfer my music to the microSD so that it just works? Do i have to delete all 1400 tracks and reload them onto the F drive, and if I do this, will it sort the library problem. Ideally I would appreciate a tried and tested method from someone who has actually DONE it, as I don't want to screw my N8.
I am a newbie to the n900. I seem to have lost all my media files. I can see them in file manager but they don't appear on the main media player. Does anyone have a solution or no of a really good media player.
Is this possible on the N900? I was trying to do it yesterday and couldn't see how to do it either from within the file manager or the media player, not a huge problem but if there's an easy work around/solution it would be good to know.
I have noticed recently when I add music to my nokia 5800 all the newly added tracks do not show up under there artists name but instead show up under 'unknown' in the list of artists. How do I organise my music so it shows up under the correct artists name.
I had a question If I log in to a Music site on N900, a website which plays live streaming Music and if i Wanna relay it to my Car Audio system using the FM Transmitter in the N900 can I do it ? Mind you it is a website which plays live music.
