Nokia N900 :: Email From Allows Goes Into Junk Folder?
Apr 21, 2010
I have set up an Hotmail email account on the N900. All is fine with recieving emails, but when I try to send an email from the phone it allows goes into the junk folder.I have set a few test emails to Hotmail accounts and Outlook accounts, but all appear in the junk folder. Can anyone help me with this problem?
The Samsung email app has not junk folder for outlook account so I can't see my emails gone to the junk folder. But in the webmail service or desktop I can see these mails.
I have a problem where email sent from my Blackberry is going into the recipients spam/junk folder. If I send the same email from my Outlook it goes to there inbox. I have tested the behavior with 4 different recipients who work for different companies. The Blackberry is setup with BIS via OWA and is on Vodafone.
Do you need to have the "BB Enterprise server" to create a new e-mail folder? I just bought Email++ it works perfect what I need to do now is to create a junk mail folder. This option does not show on the menu.
I need to know the location/folder of these files e.g. Contact folder, Bookmark, system setting, application etc. These files are the input files to the default N900's backup program (osso-backup). I plan to back up these files nightly. If not all possible, at least let me know the contact and bookmark folders. These folders are important to me for my nightly backup.
On my s6, my email was working perfectly fine on the stock client, then about 6 weeks ago, it started pulling in everything that was going to my junk mail folder(from outlook). I have deleted the email account on the computer and phone, multiple times, but still the junk emails come through. I'm getting like 400 junk emails per day. I use GoDaddy as our server and they block out the majority of the emails as I can see them in the junk folder on my computer, but everything in that junk folder comes through to my phone....It's essentially syncing the junk folder and inbox instead of JUST the inbox.......
Updated my Blackberry software to v5.0 on my Tour 9630 and now I'm missing my AOL email folder. Now receiving my emails in my messages folder. Does anyone have a solution to getting my AOL email folder back and getting my emails sent there as well. I've tried a couple things with no luck!
I'm using the N97 mini with the Nokia-supplied email (version 1.5).
For some odd reason I can't find where I can add new folders to store mails in.
The help-text on the N97 talks about this feature but it seems to me to be out of sync with my installed mais program (which Nokia updated when my phone was in for sercice in May).
Today I noticed that the email folder is not there any more. Only the messages folder exists. I tried removing the battery. Erasing the email account and re-creating it, but no luck. Emails are in the main messages folder but I do not see a seperate email folder. .
I have tried to add my yahoo email account to my N900 and after I complete the process I get an error messae saying "Unable to connect to pop.yahoo.com. Server name or port number may be incorrect". Could someone please help me in what this says? I have previously used a Blackberry and haven't had this problem before.
is there a setting in the N900 email that would speck check every message before it is sent. I have been looking for hours and cant seem to find one, but cant believe this command would be missing.
I create new email ( Gmail ) in my N900 via email in setup. The send & receive are fast and fantastic EXCEPT for reading the emails. it appears all in one single Line. How to view the mails in a normal view where is doesn't go all in one line & scrolling all to right?
Why have they removed the ability to have a space in your email username. Was there on the 5800XM.. Must be more ppl than me that have corporate email with usernames with spaces in. Anyone know how to solve this? (and nope I can't remove the space)
1. I got some serious problem here, I am using my home connection through wifi and my N900 is able to receive email from gmail but unable to send out. I checked the configuration through gmail website and it is correct for sure!
2. I tried to share photo using the share via facebook plugin or pixelpipe plugin, I get transfer error! I've no idea why. But I could use my wifi to validate facebook and pixelpipe account without any problem.
What I suspect is the outgoing connection issue. In fact I am using my laptop on the same wifi connection without any issue at all. What can I do on my N900 to fix this problem?I can use 3G to send out email and upload pictures to facebook but I can't do it via wifi!
Don't know if that's just me or my newly acquired N900..... I used the Nokia Messaging service during the trial phase a year or two back. After the trial was over, and finally the real service became available on the local carrier ( 3 Hong Kong ), I signed up for the service only to find out that the old email address I signed up during the trail period is now blocked. I can add email address that's not in the original trial account, but not the same ones ( got an error message from Nokia Messaging setup on the N900 saying another Nokia Messaging account already taken the email address I was trying to add).
So I went into the email.nokia.com to delete those email accounts (and the status of my subscription correctly shows that it's now operator subscription), but the problem persists. Actually it seems that my N900 email accounts under Nokia Messaging are out of sync with what I can see on email.nokia.com.(I have a couple accounts on the N900, and none in email.nokia.com)
Due to user error (!!) I created an email folder that is now no longer needed (connection data is wrong, folder name is wrong etc, etc).Is there any way to delete this folder from the Messaging Window and the phone so that I am not reminded of my "mistakes" every time I write or read a new message?
How do you create an email folder on the E7? When I try to save a received email, the only folder offered is the Inbox and obviously there is no point in saving it where it is already. There seems to be no way to create another folder (for example, one called Archive). Or where to find the existing folders through the phone browser on a pc?
For no real reason my phone has got sluggish with certain tasks, like the phone will freeze while an sms or email is coming through, sometimes when opening an sms i get a blank screen where the writing should be for a few seconds and general sluggishness.
On previous symbian devices this was largely solved by freeing up some phone memory, is it the same on the n900? df -h / in x term says 71% free. or is this normal for the phone, given i flashed it recently and that apparently made no difference
With the upgrade we got the ability to Delete mail off the server for POP3 (i.e., Yahoo.) But we lost in other areas here is what is happening: I have Yahoo and Gmail through the N900 email client. Both only receive mail when you hit Send/Receive. I have selected in Settings to update email every 15 minutes. For Yahoo it will update (you see the time change) but no mail will show up. So it's going through the motions but not executing. For Gmail there is no update the time doesn't change nothing happens. Every now and again mail will show up during the day very sporadic - certainly not when you have selected to "update" the mail. When you wake up in the morning Yahoo will say you have no mail you can hit send/receive manually but I have had to turn off the phone and turn it back on to get Yahoo rolling again. Gmail will have mail no idea when it came in overnight but at least it's there. I have deleted and reinstalled the mail accounts off the N900 several times to no avail.
Periodically I find my outgong emails (via Outlook) being dumped in the Drafts folder when I send them. Some time later (might be a few seconds, sometimes longer) I find a message in the in-box which says something like 'Windows Phone is unable to send your mail'. I assume this happens in poor signal conditions altough it does happen when the phone appears to be reporting a strong signal. Once in the drafts folder, I don't seem to be able to send the mail message from there - I have to move it before I can send it.
I can't find any documentation of theis behaviour so I don't know if it's supposed to do this; the circumstances under which it happens; and whether I can configure it to do something else
This is irritating on so many levels. Why doesn't the phone just leave the message in the outbox until it has connectiviity? If it's not going to send the message, why not tell me then? As it is, I often miss the failure message so I don't realise the message has not been sent until a long time after. And why can't I simply click on the message in draft and select 'send' from there?
why there is no way to create a shortcut to a folder or a file inside a folder in your memory card, it seems to me a very important function and yet no one complains but me.I have an office file which I use daily which is saved in E:My filesaccountshomeofficeworddaily.docIt would be great to add a shortcut to that file on the desktop. or at least to that folder.Or lets say I'm listening to an audiobook which is in: E:My filesAudioAudiobookspersonalBorn to runCD5chapter 4.mp3Every time I want to listen to this I have to dig deep in the file manager.
i realy your help in this one, now i live in Lebanon, and i'm searching for a n900, but the other day my freind told that you can't check for your balance in your phone operartor, is that true, were i live, you need to recharge your phone in before you make phone calls, send messages etc, and to see how much dollars(or what ever its called) you still have in what you have recharged, you need to press *11# and than the green button, and than a message shows up showing you your phone operator balance, is it true that that can't be done on the n900? i like it how i can overclock the n900 from 600 mhz to 1000 mhz in less than 30 sec.
