Due to user error (!!) I created an email folder that is now no longer needed (connection data is wrong, folder name is wrong etc, etc).Is there any way to delete this folder from the Messaging Window and the phone so that I am not reminded of my "mistakes" every time I write or read a new message?

View 7 Replies View Relatedi discovered an oddly-named folder in one of my music folders, and i attempted to delete it both on file manager and on my pc through 'mass storage' connectivity but could not manage to due to its corrupted state.
i also suspect that the corrupted folder/file is the reason to the failed transfer of some tracks from ovi player to my device, and sudden disapperance of some tracks. does anyone know how i may go about removing it in its entirety from my memory card?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have this problem with my Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. There are two files Record1 & Record2 in C: (Phone memory) which are locked and I cannot delete them. They are around 50 MB and I don't have enough memory even to write msg.
When I try to delete the files the inscription which pops up is " a file or a folder you are trying to delete, rename, copy or move is protected from access"
I'm using the N97 mini with the Nokia-supplied email (version 1.5).
For some odd reason I can't find where I can add new folders to store mails in.
The help-text on the N97 talks about this feature but it seems to me to be out of sync with my installed mais program (which Nokia updated when my phone was in for sercice in May).
I have found some zip file in the forums that removes all the unneeded google apps when you flash it. There is heaps of stuff i don't need like docs, drive ... Is there something like that for the nexus 6p?

I have set up an Hotmail email account on the N900. All is fine with recieving emails, but when I try to send an email from the phone it allows goes into the junk folder.I have set a few test emails to Hotmail accounts and Outlook accounts, but all appear in the junk folder.Can anyone help me with this problem?

View 4 Replies View RelatedPeriodically I find my outgong emails (via Outlook) being dumped in the Drafts folder when I send them. Some time later (might be a few seconds, sometimes longer) I find a message in the in-box which says something like 'Windows Phone is unable to send your mail'. I assume this happens in poor signal conditions altough it does happen when the phone appears to be reporting a strong signal. Once in the drafts folder, I don't seem to be able to send the mail message from there - I have to move it before I can send it.
I can't find any documentation of theis behaviour so I don't know if it's supposed to do this; the circumstances under which it happens; and whether I can configure it to do something else
This is irritating on so many levels. Why doesn't the phone just leave the message in the outbox until it has connectiviity? If it's not going to send the message, why not tell me then? As it is, I often miss the failure message so I don't realise the message has not been sent until a long time after. And why can't I simply click on the message in draft and select 'send' from there?
I have tried setting my yahoo and gmail mails with settings wizard AND nokia messaging but every time i connect i keep on getting user name + mailbox password with filled fields AND mailbox incoming mail server not found.check mailbox settings RESPECTIVELY. I have 5800 XM fw 31.0.101 and all applications are up to date. can someone help trouble shooting

View 2 Replies View Relatedseem to have this occassional glitch when I'm using Mobile Mail on my 5800. I have it linked to my Yahoo.ca account via Rogers ISP (Canada). I can log on to my Yahoo mail, read it and reply, but occasionally when I reply to an email it wont send, it wont cancel, it won't do anything. So....it's when I choose to reply to an email, I'm able to enter the reply, but its when I choose OK, nothing happens. If I choose cancel, nothing happens. I have to restart the phone to get that window to close!!

No reason for that: one day it just disappeared, leaving a blank line between the 2 black horizontal separator. I'm running the app with a red @ as icon, which was proposed by the device once started up.Please don't tell me to update the software, set the notification as visible, doing a hard reset, as I already did it all this stuff.I read somewhere to delete the file C:private10202be9persist which can be found by using X-plore. Again: I did install it, but that folder named private is not shown (shall I think that there isn't any?).Does anyone reckon that this issue may be fixable?

Maybe related to some app downloading at the weekend? Just sent a 2nd test message to gmail - again not appeared on phone.

Disabling or enabling this option doesn't change anything whatsoever. I like new features but I prefer having no option rather than being teased by a half-arsed setting.

View 4 Replies View RelatedFor some reason my 5800 phone has recently stopped retrieving emails from my IMAP inbox. No changes on the servet but I have recently installed the latest firmware 50.2.005 and all applications are up to date.
The problem is I go to inbox click on Connect and it says updating mailbox, sometimes it will download the new messages and sometimes I have to do it several times. Also the connection to the mailbox is immediately droppped. There is no "exiting will disconnect from mailbox" prompt when I exit so that shows that it is not connected. Then when I try to open a new or even an old message it connects and says updating mailbox and then sometimes the email application closes, sometimes it does not do anything and goes back to message list, sometimes it will show the message with no body and sometimes it shows an error saying could not display message. After trying several times sometimes I get to see the message content. Each time I try to open the email it attempts to connect to internet as it asks me which connection to use so it is evident the phone cannot maintain the connection open.
I have noted that after some firmware upgrade now I only have the option to download headers. Before I believe there was an option to download part of the body aswell.
when trying to delete a message from phone & server it tries to do it but finally just shows a red slash on the message icon. The message is not deleted from server either.
I tried selecting messages from memory card and phone memory and tried deleting the email account and setup from scratch but it is the same everytime.
I am using the default email client. The new Nokia email program is useless because it does not support secure connections which i need to use.
After getting email app to pick up mails again ( see /t5/Messaging-Email-and-Browsing/Nokia-Email-app-has-stopped-working/td-p/679806 ), there is no longer an alert.They arrive OK onto my home menu, but no sound !

But the status of those two msgs has been changed to 'Deferred' and are not getting deleted. I restarted the mobile, but again its there in the Outbox. I tried PC Suite to delete those messages. But those messages are not getting listed in the PC Suite. Kindly Suggest some solution for this problem

View 5 Replies View Relatedand cured it? I downloaded the Nokia mail (for S60), set up 2 accounts with no problem and can use the mail with no difficulties. However, every time I start my phone, the question "Allow application to use network to send or receive data?" comes up. If I reply "No" then everything continues as normal. If I say "yes" the email setup wizard starts for setting up a new account. Does anyone know how to stop this startup behaviour?
View 3 Replies View RelatedA day or two after the upgrade to firmware v40 I noticed that the phone doesn't disconnect from my WiFi connection after checking email. Previously WiFi would disconnect after it was done checking email.This happens for more than one WiFi destination (home & work), and I have verified that the connection's advanced settings do show that power saving mode is ON.
I've verified that there are no apps running in the b/g that requires connection, and if I manually disconnect the WiFi connection, then it stays disconnected until the next time the email check runs, at which point it does not disconnect automatically.
