Nokia :: N86 / SMS Messages Wiped From Micro SD Card
Apr 27, 2010
Can someone tell me how SMS messages are stored on a Nokia N86 and in what kind of file? I need to restore from a memory card. I have always stored my SMSs on my micro SD memory card with no problems, but today they completely disappeared, I have nothing left in my Inbox, Drafts or Sent folders - over a year's worth of messages that I wanted to keep!It happened today when I went into the photo settings on the N86 and noticed that my photos were being saved in 'Mass Storage', so I changed the option to 'Memory Card'. For some strange reason this seems to have had the effect of wiping / overwriting all my saved SMSs on the memory card. Strangely other files seem to have been left untouched, e.g. in the document folder.
I have an 8gb Micro-SD card in my Nokia C1-01. I had a lot of music on the card and up until a few days ago it was working perfectly.Yesterday I switched on the phone and it would not recognise the card. In fact, it said the card needed formatting! I re-formatted the card and put more music on it and it works fine again now but I do not understand what went wrong.
My phone (a nokia e52) is getting quite low on memory so I want to move my messages to the microSD card. I had, however played with this setting when I first got the phone. Because of this, when I now select the microSD card as the location for messages, the SMS/mms messages received since I first changed that setting are not transferred to the memory card. Does anyone know how to transfer these newer messages? I have tried creating a new folder, moving messages there and then changing the location setting but the new folder and its contacts did not transfer to the memory card.
How do I save my text messages to my micro sd card all at once, or do I have to do it one by one? Please explain how to save text conversations to my card so I can later access them. Also, on the other end of the spectrum, how do I delete all my SMS texts at one time? I can easily figure out how to do it one by one, but I have over 100 that I want to do all at one time.
is there any way to move messages from the phone to sim or the micro sd card?i have a data cable and can plug it into my computer to do it manually. i just dont know how.
I have broken my e71 phone and want to retrieve the contacts (phone numbers / names) that were saved on the micro sd card. I have a PC usb card reader and can see the microsd directory structure, however I do not know where the contacts are stored. Does anyone know how I can retrieve the numbers from the microsd card?
I have a scandisk micro memory card which has locked itself with a password! I emailed scandisk and they said its a common problem with nokias they put a password on the memory cards if you take them out and put them back in or update your phone etc. Scandisk have assured me that they do not make the memory cards to have passwords and its nokias fault. Can anyone pls help i cannot access my kids photos now and cannot afford to lose them No matter which phone i use it comes up enter password. Currently i am using nokia 6300 and 6600. One person on a different forum suggested going to file manager, settings, system folders, getting a file called MMCSTORE bluetooth to your pc open in notepad and password is in there. BUT i dont have anyone of these options in my phone especially file manager!
Have owned my 2nd n97 for 3 months now and suddenly when I downloaded an application called "shopping list" off the ovi suite site I had major troubles. My saved location for apps from ovi is to my :E drive which has 25gb free space, but after installation of the app I thought id open it and check it out.So I opened it, the app froze, I managed to exit it and then uninstalled it ASAP,.Next I connected the phone to my laptop to discover more corrupt files so I have deleted all that I can find. After that my phone was running like a tutle and would freeze on me,So I thought to remove battery and micro SD card, when suddenly turning the phone on without the micro SD card it would work really well.Question is: why would the phone work fine without the micro SD when I save apps to the E drive ? I have reformatted the micro SD card and it still freezes my phone and brings up a message "E memory full, move or delete some files" , how can that b possible when I have 25gb free? IM over all these dramas that nokia software/apps has given me.
I would like to know where is the function to reformat my Micro SDHC memory card from my N900 device? I am still using the same 16GB memory card from my previous Eseries S60 third edition device which created all the folders & system files & some downloaded apps for S60 still saved on this card, please advise.
What exactly is the max. size accepted by nokia 2710 Nav. edition? In the product site it tells me 16 GB :[URL]but in acccessories site it tells me: 32 GB [URL]
Ok, media card was working fine, had alot of work pictures stored on it and was becoming a hassle to hunt through all of them to find what I wanted. So, I inserted media card in computer and transfered what I wanted to a folder on the computer. Then I formatted the card using the computer. When I put the card back into the phone, the phone knows its there, but I must have wiped the card completely as none of the folders for video, pics, etc. are on it anymore. If I take a picture and go to find it, the media card does not even show up, just device memory.
Does anybody have a remedy for this? I already tried formatting the card in the phone but that didn't work. The phone is telling me in the memory options that 1.8GB is free, so I know it works, it just lost the folders or whatever........
after the update was finished all my contacts were gone all the photos for the past year and a half everything on my SD card was completely gone even my sim card didn't have any more contacts on it. It was updating when I went back inside and didn't even pump me for the update or to remove my sd card.
Updated the phone yesterday after Sony released new update to Lollipop ( meant to fix all the bugs that lollipop had) and my ENTIRE card was wiped. Over 2500 songs gone in an instant. I am so totally over this whole android Sony screw up I can't even express it in words.
Well, I've been running 5.0 OS's for months, and I'm not sure exactly when this problem happened, but my video camera stopped recording sound. Speaker phone and the voice notes recorder work fine.
I wiped the phone, formatted the SD card, and went back to the 4.7.1.65 os.I've still got no sound. Is there actually a different mic for the video camera than the speaker phone and the voice notes recorder?I've pulled the files onto my computer to verify that there is absolutely no sound.
I had an aditional memory card of 4Gb. But now, I bought a 8Gb memory, I know the card is good because I put it in another cell phone and the phone registered the card well. But when I put it in mine it does not register the sd card: it says that there is no adittional memory in tne phone. It once gave an error. But I put it again and it did not say anything. What can I do? why it does not take the card. It is a Mobile
I know with KK 4.4 that there are major revisions as to how apps can relate to the sd card. But, on the phone, can you dl data, jpegs, mp3. files, etc to the card directly? ...and, can you move files from internal to sd using ES Explorer or similar?
Ok not being funny but have read the instructions to the phone and searched on the net, but there is absolutely nothing in any of them that shows you how to insert a card into this phone, or even tells you where it goes. I have removed the battery looked inside no identification marks to out a card in, no visible places to slot a card in.
I have an Xperia X10 mini. how to access the SD card. I can access the album and the music player independently but would like to see what is on my sd card. I cannot seem to find a way to access the card.
I switched to and Android from an iPhone 5s. I love the freedom of a Droid over the constricting OS of Apple. First I had a Google phone, but switched to the LG G3. The reason is to accommodate to 40 gigs of music, and put it on the LGs external micro SD card. For the life of me I cannot get the music to play off of the 32 gig internal memory or the 64 gig external micro SD card. I get error messages when the songs wont play at all, or the songs skip like fast forwarding. I'm using a ScanDisk 64 gig micro SD card. The only way I can get the music to play is to burn up AT&T data while streaming in Google Play app. Do I need a different brand? Do I need to mount it in a certain order?
I CAN get music to play off of the 32gig internal memory, but not the SD card.
How to get my phone to "find" the micro SD card? Have put it in and out, restarting it with it in and I have checked that it works but somehow it doesn't work in my phone.
I want to add music to my Micro SD card, which is why I got it in the first place, but I don't know if I need to create a folder on the card or do I just drop all the music on there.
I put the card in the G3 and rebooted the phone. When I took the card back out to put it in the computer (thinking that might make for a quicker transfer), I noticed the phone formatted the card (like I thought it would) and added some folders and files already. The folders on there are:
.android_secure Android LGBackup
The "secure" and "Backup" folders have nothing in them. The Android folder has a folder named "data". In that folder are some other folders:
