Google Nexus 5 :: Unable To Boot - Stuck At Colored Dots Loading Screen Then Shut Off
Sep 18, 2015After fully charging the phone yesterday, when I went out to get food, my phone shut down along the way and being unable to boot. My phone is running on stock 5.0 with no mods
At first, I was able to get to the colored dots loading screen but it would always get stuck there and shut off. Then I keep trying to restart it up and it got worse and worse, now I'm always stuck at the GOOGLE screen. I'm not sure if this is a boot loop issue as it just gets stuck at GOOGLE screen. I tried the recovery mode cache wipe and it gets stuck at the GOOGLE screen in the middle of the wipe.
So this morning, after fiddling around the power buttons some more, I am able to get the battery logo while charging, though it is weird that it shows 100% then completely drained the next minute or so. I try to load into the recovery mode again and this is what I see at the bottom

I'm not sure what to do at this point, I'm still in recovery mode but don't want to push any buttons yet as it was a real struggle to get to this point as I'm always stuck at the GOOGLE screen.

Jun 2, 2012When I take a picture with a white background a circular blue tint appears in the middle of the page. How do I get rid of this? Am I using the right camera settings?

Jan 18, 2010i got my n900 the day before i went on a 6 week holiday and initially everything seemed fine, i quite liked using it whilst away. Then after a couple of days i noticed it was rebooting unexpectedly. after a couple of weeks of these silly reboots it just stoped rebooting and it just gets stuck with the white dots. i've read lots of threads that say do this and that but none of the replies seem to be speciic to my issue. I've charged the battery for a couple of hours and tried the boot up with U key depressed but nothing seems to allow it to boot. i am a total linux noob and thought this device might be a useful as an introduction to the OS but i am very dispoainted so far. If i flash the device will i loose all the data that is currently stored on the device, all my recent holiday snaps and videos? i just want to get a working device and not loose all the good memories currently stored on it.

Aug 19, 2010I've aquired a N900 with the never ending flashing dots boot problem. I've tried reflashing it a couple of times from my windows 7 laptop but no luck. I did get it to boot into the OS once, but turned it off to insert the SIM and had the same problem again. Is there anything I can try to get this thing working properly again?

Sep 29, 2012My gf 701 was freezing terribly, first she told me that the hardware keys & unlock slider not functioning just the touchscreen and the power button,this happens to my n8 sometimes, i usually restart it and its back on track, i did 2 backups (one full backup & other without phone settings and apps but everything else) with Nokia Suite ,i did soft reset ,when restarted ,same thing, hardware keys & unlock slider not functioning ,then tried hard reset, after hard reset, it acts like it's now booting up showing the dots, but soon after just shows black screen, when connected to Nokia Suite it doesn't recognise the phone, is there any way i can fix this by loading back firmware? if so what program should i use?

Aug 7, 2010I keep having an error on boot-up where, after the Nokia logo comes and goes, the flashing dot sequence continues indefinitely, for hours; boot-up is never completed. The N900 becomes unusable. While in this "Forever Dots" state, if I try:
- tapping on/off button: flashing dots pause for a moment, then continue flashing forever as before- holding on/off button: device switches off; but when I switch it back on, after the Nokia logo we're back to the forever flashing dots- taking out the battery and replacing: same as holding on/off button..............

The problem is that it does not display Cell Info display correctly. Only few times it shows, But only for sometime. Is this bug fixed in the latest version 5.44 ???? and it also has the signal problem .. If i put it in my pocket , the whole signal goes away in both sims....

Oct 12, 2011the camera on my blackberry curve is displaying a really weird screen. It's just vertical bars of color, like the test pattern on a TV. Strange! I've popped the battery out and done all that basic troubleshooting.

Sep 19, 2011I bought X2-01 Almost in less then a month. I liked it and using it well no problem. But I don't know I am unable to use camera since 2 days, Blue, black, white, red lines are coming infront of it. When I start cam it happens automatically. It becomes better when I set camera of x2 to some light etc., but still unable to see from the camera. No night mode etc., even used in day time.

Mar 10, 2015While playing a game on my phone yesterday the screen flashed/blinked for a moment, then turned and remained a blackish blue color. While in this state nothing on the phone was functional, I could hold the power button until I was blue in the face and it wouldn't power off the device. At this point I opened the cover for the micro SD card and SIM card and pressed the yellow power off button.
After holding down the yellow off button for several seconds and feeling the three vibrations I set the phone down and left it for 5 minutes. When I powered device backup it had the same black blue screen. I repeated these steps several times all with the same outcome. At this point I'm pretty frustrated and attempted to boot into recovery to no avail, finally deciding to simply do a factory reset which didn't work either.
Google Nexus 5 :: Why Won't Phone Boot Past Colored Symbols
Oct 16, 2015I have had my fantastic Nexus 5 for some time now, and up until the Android 6 update I have had no crash issues at all. It may be coincidence, but since the update a couple days ago my phone has crashed three times, and with the last crash it will not boot past the colored symbols. In fact it will cycle the symbols without end at times, but sometimes it will cycle them for 30 seconds or so and then crash back to the black screen then to "Google" followed by the colored symbol screen. Rinse and repeat.
I have tried full shut off and re-start by holding down the power button and that does nothing new. I read on these forums a suggestion for a Nexus 4 user back in July to try holding down the power button and tapping the up volume once to pull up some options, but that seems to do nothing. Perhaps I am doing it at the wrong time though.
I read that Marshmallow handles permissions differently, so I wonder if it has to do with my third-party launcher. Though it seems strange that I was able to (until today) use my phone just fine between crashes for several days after the update.

Sep 28, 2014Yesterday I did the most recent developers update on my ATT Nokia Lumia 1020. I have had absolutely zero problems with the phone at all since day one. Today while checking emails my phone screen flickered and then went to something that appears to be the "snow" that you see on televisions when they had no signal. In the "snow" there are 4 lighter bars and 4 darker ones running vertically.
I also am unable to do a hard reset or soft reset.
I found others who have the same screen issue, but they have been able to fix it with either a soft or hard reset. I unfortunately cannot do that, as the buttons seem to have also become unresponsive. After about 2 minutes the screen will go black, and then after about 2 seconds come back on by itself with the same issue present.
