the camera on my blackberry curve is displaying a really weird screen. It's just vertical bars of color, like the test pattern on a TV. Strange! I've popped the battery out and done all that basic troubleshooting.

When I use the camera, it just displays 8 vertical bars of equal width, each a different shade of grey. If I cover the camera then the whole screen goes black. If I take the picture, the same image is saved and can be selected and viewed. Device details below.

I expect this will be an RMA. Very disappointed that I can't find a contact phone number for Blackberry considering how much I paid for it.
I bought X2-01 Almost in less then a month. I liked it and using it well no problem. But I don't know I am unable to use camera since 2 days, Blue, black, white, red lines are coming infront of it. When I start cam it happens automatically. It becomes better when I set camera of x2 to some light etc., but still unable to see from the camera. No night mode etc., even used in day time.

My photos and some videos have colored lines through them. Sometimes I only get half the photo. I have pulled the battery and reset the device many many times but nothing changes. I have attached an example photo.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 4S running on iOS 5.0. I reset my phone a few weeks ago when I was playing around, and I restored it from my iCloud backup. Everything was fine except the filename counter for my pictures was also reset to IMG0001. I transfer pictures to my computer regularly so now I have many pictures with duplicated names, such as IMG0001.JPG and IMG0001 (2).JPG. This is much of an annoyance but I can live with that.
However I have even weirder things happening now. Let's say before I reset my phone I had shot a vidoe and the name was IMG0010.MOV. After the reset of course the video is gone, and I take pictures with my phone as usual. So I took a picture whose name as IMG0010.JPG again, and when I try to see it in the camera roll, I see the first frame of my old video! In the thumbnail view it is the right picture, but when I tap on it to view it, it shows my newly taken picture for about half a second, and then displays my old video. I guess there must be some old cache on my phone that override the picture display. Does anyone know how to fix it?
I should add that the picture is also displayed wrongly in my photo stream folder on the phone. On the other hand when I access the picture from the computer (in the DCIM folder, and in the synced photo stream folder) it is the right one. But I want to view the pictures on my phone! I can't take my computer with me anytime!

After the update to the 5.1 iOS, my 32GB iPhone 4S is now displaying some pictures in my Camera Roll as grey boxes with "JPG" in the middle. When you select the photo, it brings up a larger version of the grey box showing the "JPG" in the middle. I've tried to delete the photos and re-sync my phone, but each time - more pictures seem to be showing up like this.

I set it on 2MP, I just shot 6 pictures and it's displaying "low memory"; thus, I can't take any pictures anymore until I transfer some pictures from 100ANDRO to any other pictures folder. It's weird since the pictures taken by the camera should be automatically saved in SD card (I have 11GB left)?

All contacts appear in BBM, but none of them have there display pictures showing. have checked with contacts via sms and they do not see my current profile picture either, even though I have one to display.
All data works and can BBM contacts with no issue. All data files have been updated by vodafone as well. I have tried a re install and also a battery pull.
I have just received a new company car where I divert my Bold 9700 via bluetooth to the in car phone.All my incoming calls show the telephone number, not the name of the caller and they are all in my contacts folder in the blackberry and also in the car unit.What do I need to change in the blackberry to instruct it to show the caller's name?

It just comes out as a bunch (well, a screenfull) of garbage characters.This frustrate me because:- the non mobile version of the site works fine (don't want that, it's become much more graphic intensive of late). It's just the mobile version that won't work.- the mobile site will display properly on a wifi connection. In fact, I've been using this problem to trouble shoot a wifi setup once or twice (this is not a plus)- I've tried the website on three other blackberries, two of them bold 9700's, and they all work.- this is the only website that I've encountered that gives me garbabge. I have no issues otherwise.

For the first time today I could pause on a contact name and it would automatically show the number for that person under the name. I scrolled thru my contacts later and it doesn't do it anymore. I liked that option and would like to "turn it on" if possible. I've had my bold for about 3 mons and it has never done it b4 or again. Just once just today. I'm running os .714 on TMO if that matters or is important.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen i store MP3 files on my memory card that have Japanese Kanji in their file names/song names / artists/ etc., all i get are a bunch of white blocks, rather than the proper display of the characters.Is there any way I can get the Bold 9700, running 5.0.0.405, to properly display them. I don't need to be able to input them with my keyboard, just display them as they appear on the memory card.
I want, for example, the song "Hare Hare Yukai" from "Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" to display the song title on the BlackBerry as ハレ晴レユカイ (as it is stored in the song's properties) and not as white blocks/ gibberish. I am not new to BlackBerries, but VERY new to the Bold 9700, so any help is appreciated... do i have to delete the songs from the memory card (since I moved the memory card from my old 8310) and re-add them for it to pick up properly (and delete the folder's BBThumbs.dat file too), or what?

The issue is when I click BlackBerry App World... then I click My World..It lists all of the applications I have installed... but for some reason it's listing all of the applications I have UNinstalled also....
I have tried to resolve this issue with a technician.My phone was getting an uncaught exception 6 or whatever upon startup.The technician had me do hard resets on my blackberry... that didn't help.He then had me install the desktop manager program, and I went to the spot where it lists all the apps installed on my blackberry.... he had me uninstall all of my apps.
So that took forever to do, then my phone restarted and my apps were gone... he then had me go to the us cellular website and download a file named "9650_512AMEA_PBr5.0.0_rel1367_PL4.2.0.363_A5.0.0.810_U.S._Cellular_.exe
Which is supposed to redo the stuff on my blackberry... so we ran that file, it removed stuff, then redid all the stuff that originally came with my blackberry.... but yet when I do a hard reset, soft reset, or uninstall all my apps, and run the "9650_512AMEA_PBr5.0.0_rel1367_PL4.2.0.363_A5.0.0.810_U.S._Cellular_.exe"
BlackBerry App World is still displaying my UNinstalled apps.... why is it doing this, and how do I make it stop?
After certain time in the phone all incoming calls show the same number in caller ID.The number that is shown will be the last call received before the problem starts.The call log shows the correct number but when call is received the same number is shown.This continues till the phone is reset. But it reverts back to the same issue after some time.I thought this was a problem with the phone and changed Handset and SIM card also, but still the problem came back after a couple of months. My service provider is not able to help me. I tried updating the software in the old phone but still the problem was there.This is driving me crazy since there are many calls I dont want to attend.

It is just a bunch of jibberish displaying on the screen. I got a blackberry two days ago, the newest one, bold 9930 I think it is, it has a touch screen. I have bbm and when I add people or I accept them, I don't see their picture straight away, unless they change it, I see their new one. My picture isn't showing either, I haven't altered with any settings and I have looked through my settings to look if there's one I can choose for them to show but there isn't.

It loads the Blackberry screen then seems to ask for an autorisation for an app but I can't even see which one since it turns off immediately displaying the SFR (my operator) screen. I mean whenever I check the box for turning wifi on, it wont turn on and when I do wifi setup wizard it says "unable to turn wifi on". I did clean reload of BB OS, I even did a downgrade for BB OS, I erased all the data and set everything to default but yet no results. I am already subscribed for BIS plan, its just frustrating to watch myself upgrading and downgrading and erasing datas for the past 4 hours just for turning on the wifi....

The screen does not change and we can't see anything or make calls from the screen. I tried a soft reset and removed the battery several times and nothing seems to work. My son said he did not damage the device- and I don't visibly see any damage, so I'm not sure if this is a known issue or if there is anything else I can possibly do to get it back to original working order?
