I have Sony Xperia Arc S and I have some issues with the camera. I set it on 2MP, I just shot 6 pictures and it's displaying "low memory"; thus, I can't take any pictures anymore until I transfer some pictures from 100ANDRO to any other pictures folder. It's weird since the pictures taken by the camera should be automatically saved in SD card (I have 11GB left)?

View 4 Replies View RelatedWell basically i have bought this amazing phone xperia play, however downside is the internal memory only 400mb ( i mean seriously) but anyway ive been 'app exploring' and downloaded so many to my sd, but some were un movable from the phone i do not know why. so upon getting full i thought it will be a good idea to give it a reboot, upon doing that, when i revisited the phone ive lost all my apps on my sd card, funny enough i still have my photos and media on the sd card.
also in the settings>applications?managing applications and in the sd section its showing 2.90 gb availible of 7.99 or somrthing, basically the apps are there but i can't view them(thats what i gatherd from this issue)
I tried the Camera mod for Xperia play and some kind of entertainment apps by using camera but still the same.My camera just freeze if i take a photo. Even if I use another apps to take photo it just freeze.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got a strange problem with my Xperia PLAY. My camera seems to have corrupted autofocus functionality "it seems to be locked on infinity and I cannot focus on any object. I know that autofocusing should normally be triggered by long-tapping camera button in the default application, but it never happens". I always get red focusing mark and a blurry photo.
This behavior is observed on both 2.3.3 and 2.3.4 with default application, Camera ZOOM Ex, Camera 360 and lgCamera. I tried every focusing setting (auto, infinity, macro), but no luck. I also tried to clear application data for Camera app, but it didn't give any results either.
I opened service menu > service tests > camera, and after tapping on screen I got a message: 'Autofocus failed, taking picture anyway'.
Here's an example of my photo: As you can see, it is of quite poor quality. It was taken from approximately 25-30 cm above surface, with 'Macro' focus settings and other settings in default state.
Just yesterday my phone has started to malfunction. A pop up window keeps appearing ''Unfortunately, Google Play services has stopped''. I have to click it around 6 times before it stops popping up, this happens frequently every minute.
When I try to use my camera it says ''Unfortunately, Camera has stopped''. When go onto Settings, Half of the menus are unusable. If I click one that's ''broken'' It closes itself immediately.

I know many of us did not buy this phone for its camera capabilities, but given that this is part of the Xperia line, it's disappointing that this phone did not ship with at least the X10's imaging software. Sony Ericsson was content to put their on touch on many areas of the device, yet, they decided to NOT touch one of worst pieces of Android. Would anyone else have liked SE to tweak the camera software? I wasn't expecting Arc-status, but I also wasn't expecting such a low-quality experience on such a "high-end" device.
View 4 Replies View RelatedA few days ago I stupidly dropped my xperia play in the bath. I let it dry out and place in rice in a sealed container for a few days to dry it out. However when I now power the phone up the camera flash light stays on and will not switch off even going into the camera settings and turning it off. I done the software repair download from the sony website but it hasn't helped.I also purchased a new battery as well. I am guessing it's going to need repaired but I thought I ask on here if anyone has ideas as to what would be causing the problem.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a 4S running on iOS 5.0. I reset my phone a few weeks ago when I was playing around, and I restored it from my iCloud backup. Everything was fine except the filename counter for my pictures was also reset to IMG0001. I transfer pictures to my computer regularly so now I have many pictures with duplicated names, such as IMG0001.JPG and IMG0001 (2).JPG. This is much of an annoyance but I can live with that.
However I have even weirder things happening now. Let's say before I reset my phone I had shot a vidoe and the name was IMG0010.MOV. After the reset of course the video is gone, and I take pictures with my phone as usual. So I took a picture whose name as IMG0010.JPG again, and when I try to see it in the camera roll, I see the first frame of my old video! In the thumbnail view it is the right picture, but when I tap on it to view it, it shows my newly taken picture for about half a second, and then displays my old video. I guess there must be some old cache on my phone that override the picture display. Does anyone know how to fix it?
I should add that the picture is also displayed wrongly in my photo stream folder on the phone. On the other hand when I access the picture from the computer (in the DCIM folder, and in the synced photo stream folder) it is the right one. But I want to view the pictures on my phone! I can't take my computer with me anytime!

When I use the camera, it just displays 8 vertical bars of equal width, each a different shade of grey. If I cover the camera then the whole screen goes black. If I take the picture, the same image is saved and can be selected and viewed. Device details below.

After the update to the 5.1 iOS, my 32GB iPhone 4S is now displaying some pictures in my Camera Roll as grey boxes with "JPG" in the middle. When you select the photo, it brings up a larger version of the grey box showing the "JPG" in the middle. I've tried to delete the photos and re-sync my phone, but each time - more pictures seem to be showing up like this.

Front camera causes my XPERIA PLAY to crash. In the beginning, both front and back camera didnt work. I reset the phone to default settings and back camera worked, but front camera problem continues to persist. I downloaded other apps such as Vignette and Pudding Camera - same problem exist and sometimes even cause the phone to reboot or hang. Error messages include "In-built camera cannot connect", "camera application not responding", "phone cannot connect" or sometimes just black out.

So if I want to insert hard reset code, I canīt. Restart without memory card and SIM card, shut down-power up and restore factory settings canīt solve my problem.

Now let me explain the list of tasks i did in order to get it back to work but invane 1- Tested a new touchpad 2- Software update 3- Software downgrade 4- Deassembling and reassembling
i think i didn't miss anything but still its not responsive. It does sometimes response but if i do restart battery pull, open back case its unresponsive again. According to my knowledge its not a hardware issue as if its hardware and need new one i already tried that its software issue and it seems that entire screen is selected when i try to neviggate through the gaming keys. I am still unable to belive that sony ericsson has still not provided any fix for the issue. If anyone has any idea or any third party software for screen please advise.

I am looking to buy an external speaker to connect to my xperia play, preferably a sony branded one, but definately one that is portable enough to fit in my pocket.I thought I had found the one that fit the bill perfectly when I checked the sony site and found the MS 430 which is supposed to be fully compatible with the Xperia Play (it even doubles up as a phone stand, which is pretty neat).Now the problem is my jack is on the horizontal side of my phone (opposite side to the left flipper) and not on the top end as shown in the picture to connect a phone to this speaker.So therefore the speaker is not compatible with this phone, unless of course I have a unique phone with the jack in the wrong place or the phone is connected in the upright position, which wouldnt be very good when watching video playback.

Because of this, I have missed a couple of important messages, which were too late to deal with when i actually saw them. A good 3 hours arfter my phone said they were recieved.
