The front Camera of My Sony Xperia PLAY shows a message ""CANNOT CONNECT TO CAMERA"Primary camera works Fine. Also when I login to Google talk, it crashes immediately. (Dont know if there is any connection between the two things)I tried repairing the software of my phone but the problem is still there.

Front camera causes my XPERIA PLAY to crash. In the beginning, both front and back camera didnt work. I reset the phone to default settings and back camera worked, but front camera problem continues to persist. I downloaded other apps such as Vignette and Pudding Camera - same problem exist and sometimes even cause the phone to reboot or hang. Error messages include "In-built camera cannot connect", "camera application not responding", "phone cannot connect" or sometimes just black out.

I am using my new paid copy of ps mobile suite and they play(do far) pretty good on the vita( still a few bugs to work out) but on my xperia play when I try to play them for some reason my xperia keeps trying to access the ps storeWhich isn't a problem . The problem is that I bought the xperia play remanufactured as a test device only but then decided to activate it anyway. So my problem is that when I try to access the ps store I get a 8008104D error. Now I know that this error is because my xperia isn't telling the network that it's an xperia, but it obviously is. So would this be something missing from the framework res.apk or could it be something else? I have Redlands the phone using the update tool, rooted it, all ps certified and xperia certified .jar and all .xml files are in their proper folders as far as I can tell. Why would my expedia be telling the ps store that it isn't an xperia?

This also prevents me from doing anything on it at all while it is connected due to rapid switches i phone mode (Media Transfer / normal)

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an Xperia PLAY and recently the screen went fuzzy and I couldn't see anything so I had it repaired. However when I got it back it will not connect to my network which is Vodafone Ireland. When I try to connect it says "Your SIM Card does not allow a connection to this network". I have changed the mode from WCDMA and GSM and vice versa but still it won't connect. I even got a new sim card to try that. It will work with any of my older phones but not this one. The phone works perfectly at everthing else including internet by Wi-Fi but not as a phone.

I change my phone to 'mediaoverdracht modus' ( it's in dutch, i don't know the english word ). It's the modus that is required for updating your phone, and it's step 3. But it fails every single time. PC Companion keeps saying it is unable to connect to my PLAY. No errorcode or nothing, it just gives the advice to reconnect my phone to the PC.

Part of the changes seems to be that I get new message notifications in the middle of my lock screen (meaning I press the power button and my screen goes from blank to the lock screen, and in the middle of that is a notification that says I have "New messages:1" with a envelope icon beside it. I've checked sms, email, whatsapp, skype, handcent, etc etc and I cant find any messages that are new. The notification bar is empty. I've also tried sending myself a message to see if it will clear, but it wont. I'd previously cancelled voice mail on the carrier side too.

My camera seems to have corrupted autofocus functionality "it seems to be locked on infinity and I cannot focus on any object. I know that autofocusing should normally be triggered by long-tapping camera button in the default application, but it never happens". I always get red focusing mark and a blurry photo.
This behavior is observed on both 2.3.3 and 2.3.4 with default application, Camera ZOOM Ex, Camera 360 and lgCamera. I tried every focusing setting (auto, infinity, macro), but no luck. I also tried to clear application data for Camera app, but it didn't give any results either.
I opened service menu > service tests > camera, and after tapping on screen I got a message: 'Autofocus failed, taking picture anyway'.
Here's an example of my photo: As you can see, it is of quite poor quality. It was taken from approximately 25-30 cm above surface, with 'Macro' focus settings and other settings in default state.
Just yesterday my phone has started to malfunction. A pop up window keeps appearing ''Unfortunately, Google Play services has stopped''. I have to click it around 6 times before it stops popping up, this happens frequently every minute.
When I try to use my camera it says ''Unfortunately, Camera has stopped''. When go onto Settings, Half of the menus are unusable. If I click one that's ''broken'' It closes itself immediately.

I know many of us did not buy this phone for its camera capabilities, but given that this is part of the Xperia line, it's disappointing that this phone did not ship with at least the X10's imaging software. Sony Ericsson was content to put their on touch on many areas of the device, yet, they decided to NOT touch one of worst pieces of Android. Would anyone else have liked SE to tweak the camera software? I wasn't expecting Arc-status, but I also wasn't expecting such a low-quality experience on such a "high-end" device.
View 4 Replies View RelatedHere are options that I have tried:- Ensuring Back cover is on completely- Purchased new Micro SDHC card- Updated Xperia Play to latest software using PC Companion- Removing and re-inserting card whilst on, and whilst off.- Searching for related issues (None found, except back cover issues).
When the phone discovers the card, after attempting a mount it tells me "Blank or unnsupported card".Being un-able to connect my SDHC card prevents me from playing any games installed on the device, using the camera/video, and installing new programs or games.
My daughter sends me video via Facebook private message. This always worked before until the last sony update. I have just had another update successful this morning and I still get the same message the phone will start to play the message then about 10 seconds in say invalid url cannot play when the phone has just played some of the video??
View 2 Replies View RelatedA few days ago I stupidly dropped my xperia play in the bath. I let it dry out and place in rice in a sealed container for a few days to dry it out. However when I now power the phone up the camera flash light stays on and will not switch off even going into the camera settings and turning it off. I done the software repair download from the sony website but it hasn't helped.I also purchased a new battery as well. I am guessing it's going to need repaired but I thought I ask on here if anyone has ideas as to what would be causing the problem.

But i have a tiny problem, sometime when i enter or use any application it suddenly take me to the store or take me to chrome and give me a fake warning message, i don't have a screen shots now, but i will take a screenshot when it happens to me again. this thing is so annoying and it is like an advrtisment to an app.
