My daughter sends me video via Facebook private message. This always worked before until the last sony update. I have just had another update successful this morning and I still get the same message the phone will start to play the message then about 10 seconds in say invalid url cannot play when the phone has just played some of the video??

My Z3 plays about three quarters of a video, then stops and says ;Cannot play video. Invalid URL. whats url got to do with a prerecorded video. This happens with the built in player and also vlc player.
View 10 Replies View RelatedFirstly, when I watch video on youtube about 4-6 clips - the error message appear: "Please touch to try again" - even I touch multiple times it still can not play.
Then, I go to the Video App (Sony), surprisingly, the video didn't play. It appear an error message: "Can not play this video" - I try with every single video on my phone and still has the same error message.
And more surprisingly, even the video on facebook have the same problem too.
So it must be like: If I watch video on any app, suddenly the clip can not play or just keep loading infinity, these app will be "infected" immideately (at the same time as well). The only thing I can do is reboot the phone.
I know reboot phone is just spend my little time around 15-30 seconds maybe. But it is very annoying to happen with very frequently.
Tried Facebook application, tried Facebook mobile and both gave me the same error.

It also gave me the option to play with QuickPic which also gave me another error:
Cannot play video
Sorry, this video cannot be played.
I tried it on several videos one of which I uploaded from my phone and my wife could play it fine with her Thunderbolt and was quick to say it was because her phone was better than mine.
My message notification tone used to play all the way thru when I received a message now it only plays two seconds then cuts off I have tried changing the tone but they are all the same.

I can receieve my gmail messages on my phone no problem. My gmail account login information is correct on the phone.
I've tried searching for this problem but what I find always seems to be related to enterprise configurations using an Exchange Server and the fix was for the Exchange server. That doesn't fit my scenario.

The videos can be played immediately after recording, but later if attempted have a broken film icon instead of thumbnail and if tried to play the message "Currently Unavailable appears". This is not consistent however, a few videos in the middle of the 20 are playable. Their sizes are all varying, settings on each video are the same. Now I can't view the files and it won't play in any different video applications that I have downloaded. I reformatted the sd card after backing it up and still nothing! Why is this when I can see the files on my phone. They are there but won't play. I haven't done anything wrong! I literally am frustrated and want my videos back.
