I've just purchased new Lumia 920.Does battery need full charge/discharge 3 cycles before normal use ? ( I was told to do it at store but i could not find it anywhere in user instruction or online )
View 2 RepliesI did general master reset doing the *#7370#- it restored the phone to the original settings then I started transfering contacts from the SIM card. I editted them. Then the phone went back to the original profile (them, homescreen) as it was before the formatting. Then it froze, wont let me type anything but the * or # key. Wont let me go into the menu. I tried restarting 6 times and the same thing happens over and over. I called Rogers Tech support, they have never heard of anything like that-and suggest a replacement. One thing I though it could be is that somehow during the formatting the phone got locked, but Roger's says it is not. So now I am out of the phone and need this one fixed or replaced. Has anyone heard of anything like that before? If so please help me before I buy another phone, because I would rather save this one

I had backed up my data and restored it after formatting but i did not get the games back. I checked the ovi store and it says "item not available". how to get the games back.

However, after downloading some games and apps from the ovi store, I noticed that every time I started one of them, it asked to go online. If I didn't let it, it wouldn't start.
I do not intend to use this phone with any kind of data plan, at least currently. And even if I did, does that mean I would never be able to start any downloaded games while on a plane or somewhere without any network coverage? Or am I just missing something?
Id like to format my phone but what actually gets deleted when i format it? will i be able to get the 2 pre installed games back and do allt he settings remain the same? and what about the ringing tones such as nokia tune...? basically is everything deleted but can I get any of it back from the nokia store free of charge if it was already on my phone...?

When I try to format it, I select "Options" while "Memory Card" is highlighted but I do not have the option of formatting it. Is there something wrong with my phone? Currently, my phone is V 06.68, which I am assuming is the latest version, since I have the Nokia Ovi Suite installed, and when I select "Update", it says I have the latest version.

Does the people hub sync in the background? The feeds update only when I open the app, so I am not sure.2. Does the me hub sync in the background?3. Will removing their tiles from the start screen, will they stop syncing? Or do I have to unlink my Facebook, twitter and linked accounts completely?4. View 13 Replies View Relatedtrying to get the damn thing to charge, plug, unplug, check its still charging, its stopped,repeat process, never fully charges. Got a new charger for it, had ONE full charge then had the same problems. Hard reset the other day and is now worse than ever. Last night it was charging for ages, came back to find it at 0% even though it was still merrily flashing to say it was charging, clearly it is not. Left over night to find it had died altogether, cue the usual hours and hours of trying everything to get it to come back on,heating, soft reset, hard reset, unplugging, trying various places to plug in, all usb ports etc blah to then get stuck in the infinite reboot cycle.A zillion hard resets later it finally comes on, leave it to charge a little before going through the set up, there was a small amount of charge, come back to do set up and its gone back down to 0% of its own accord.

On the other hand since Monday but battery life has changed, and even with the full battery the prediction of time (displayed on settings menu) until it becomes empty is about 16 hours, nothing more. Before that I could see a prediction of more than 40 hours, and the phone used to last that long. Now, with the same applications, etc. it decreases drastically, should i send the phone for warranty?

It might have been updating email but that shouldn't kill the battery like that. I don't use it that much during the day but it seems to go down really fast. View 19 Replies View RelatedI have the Lumia 820 with the Navigon navigation app installed. I went on a trip this past weekend and noticed a strange battery drain while driving to my destination. The drive was a little over 2 hours and I was charging the phone the whole time. I figured I would test it on the drive home. I charged the phone completely before starting the drive home. I was camping so I had to use the lighter jack in the car which is always on and charged the phone from less then 10% to 100% overnight. Again the drive was a little over 2 hours, had the Navigon app open and running the whole time and the phone was plugged into the lighter and the charging icon was registering a charge the whole time. The only other thing running was cellular data. NFC, Bluetooth, Wifi, Nokia Drive, all off. When I arrived home the phone was at 45% and was very hot.
I upgraded from the Samsung Focus and using the Navigon app in the same car never ever had less power when I I ended a trip to when I started a trip. I use the Navigon app all time so this is a real issue. I am also going to post this on the Navigon website.
My Lumia 900 is getting really poor battery life and can barely last a full day with minimal use. Under moderate to heavy use the phone doesn't last more than 5 hours. I have done two hard resets already and its still the same. It appears others have the same problem.
View 17 Replies View RelatedThe Nokia Lumia 900 got BRICKED within a week of getting it....Here is what happened, last night I could not get my phone recharged on time and as I was doing something the phone suddenly froze and died as it had ran out of juice. I left it there in that state for awhile and then plugged into wall...first the bottom three buttons lit up, a white screen, then a big battery showed up with with a bit of red charge, then a nokia page and then finally an att page with the words "rethink possible".....and it shuts off and starts this loop.

I bought this phone for my son for Christmas and despite having it on charge for a few hours it still shows that there's 56% battery charge then once you unplug the charger the phone won't turn on, completely dead! Tried to check software but when I plug it into laptop it just says device unplugged, the only time I got it to recognise it it was unable to find device driver software. Must admit its completely put me off this phone before we've started, I champion Nokia all the time but wish I'd bought him an iPhone now!!

My usage is typically around this:1 hour on the phone.15 minutes of Twitter. 15 minutes of browsing on 3G. No bluetooth/ WiFi/ Internet sharing on most days. Manual brightness setting. Battery Saver on. Dark backgroundLocation settings off. Email refresh after 1 hour. XBox signed out. I can't think of anything else I can do to reduce my power consumption. I'm using the firmware version 1066.0000.8779.12201, which according to my Customer care is the latest firmware version. Nokia claims a 720 hr standby time on 3G, which I am nowhere close to.
