Nokia Applications :: All Apps/games Require Internet?
Jul 7, 2012
I recently picked up a Nokia Asha 300; I am able to start the pre-installed apps and games without problems. However, after downloading some games and apps from the ovi store, I noticed that every time I started one of them, it asked to go online. If I didn't let it, it wouldn't start.
I do not intend to use this phone with any kind of data plan, at least currently. And even if I did, does that mean I would never be able to start any downloaded games while on a plane or somewhere without any network coverage? Or am I just missing something?
Im downloading games to my E61i smartphone... but all these games need to load adds and therefor it needs internet everythime I want to play. So does this website offer stand alone games, where you just click and play.
I bought nokia 500 today. the phone run on Symbian Anna OS,sports a 1 GHz ARM 11 processor,256 MB RAM&512 MB ROMï».Can we play HD games on Nokia 500?
iphone users get new hd game every 15 days and after few days of that hd game release for iphone users that same hd game gets ported to android platformbut i dont know why symbian^3 users get nothing! And apart from gameloft no one really makes good hd gamesso why the hell nokia not bringing new hd games for symbian^3
I have a Nokia 500 belle with firmware 111.020.0067 limited edition by wolter, I want to play 2d or 3d hd games on it. But these games are installable on it without any error yet not working some of these also opened without running forward. If this cell is compatible with this kind of game then may be am missing some kinds of gaming tools.
I was wondering this the other day. Does Facetime require an active connection to the Internet to work? By this, I mean if you have two iPhone4 users on the same wifi network (not connected to the Internet), can they use facetime to v-chat?
I'm thinking if you're in a work environment where you can't attach wifi routers to the network, could I bring in an old wifi router and just plug in the power? Then anyone with an iPhone4 could connect to this network just for Facetime (and perhaps stuff like filesharing, printersharing, etc).
I have an Iphone 3G. Using GPS seems to cost me money every time I access it? (unless I am in a free Wi-Fi area) I assume it connects to the Internet. I did not realise that it needed the internet. I have GPS in my car and it seems to connect with the Satellite immediately. The Iphone does not seem to operate in the same way. For example, if I plan a route using my Iphone in a Wi-Fi Area (my own), when I go outside to follow the route and proceed along the various steps, do I still need an internet connection?.
i have nokia 500. in 1 month i faced a hell lot of problems.
1. my mobile crashes when i use internet and ovi store and playing games. i updated to 010.032 but problem is still there and also i didnt recieved office and pdf apps in upd . 2. i want to clean c drive (100 mb other files).
3. is there any app available through which i can easily switch between gprs/edge and wlan. i try to use wlan but nokia browser and opera mini starts using gprs/edge.
4. battery drains quickly. i dont use any app running behind.i close all apps using "long press menu button and kill the apps" method. still battery lasts for only 3 hours of internet and 1 hour gaming and 5 hours of stand by with everything closed.

downloaded a few things from ovi store but when installing it says something like internet settings must be able to accept java ( or something along those lines)how can i install these games and apps ?
i went on the ovi store and realized that i had to purchase the games and apps. so then i went on another site and download stuff instead, i dont really trust anyways, cos it say it might cause harm to my phone, btw, the download doesn't even work! can someone tell me how to download game and apps and store it in my phone in the correct file and such.AND the face book app thingy in my phone doesn't work, whenever i click on it it says no internet connection, when there is, cos if i click on google, then type in facebook and log in then it works, but not directly to the facebook app originally there when i turn on the phone.
i have just installed some apps/games from the ovi store. and after i restarted the phone it stayed on the (blue letters) NOKIA logo. no matter how many times i have removed/reinserted the battery it will always stay on the above mentioned logo.anything i could do beside from resetting the device with the 3 buttons sequence?should i take it directly to a Nokia care point to check it?i have two years warranty, is it possible to provide me with a new phone?Do you want to get all the firmware updates for your phone? Get a SIM-free one! It's so easy!
I am having trouble with my phone after updating it recently. I use apps and games from Offscreen Technology which are available on Ovi Store. But after I update my phone to PR1.2, all those Offscreen games and apps are working so laggy. But it was really smooth before I update my phone. I think all the N900 owners are having same problem as me. Is there any solution to fix it?
My Nokia asha 202 handset is frustrating me as it cannot open downloaded (nokia related) apps and games. When I try opening a downloaded app it says 'file format not supported. Also, some of the files (music) I receive via bluetooth don't play.
I have had the Nokia internet radio app on my N8 ! I was notified last week of a new update, so i downloaded it via 'the store' and it came up with an error and cant finish the update ! After a good few attempts i removed the original app just incase there was a conflict with it, still no luck and now i have no internet radio
Can anyone suggest me set of applications and games that best suits the xperia mini (st15i)?I also want to know the required applications needed to download so that my unit will work smoothly.
I rarely have problems with BBC radio (BBC Worldservice and Radio 4) via the Internet Radio app, but Danish radio drops out, usually after max. 2 minutes when on 3G. There doesn't seem to be a problem using WiFi. Could this be a bit rate problem? I have a totally stable 3.5G connection.
