how to edit which information from the contacts that will be displayed when trying to call a contact? I cannot get anything else than Firstname, Company showed - which is not how I want this.
Furthermore I have found no way to lookup addresses in the Nokia Car navigator from contacts.
I've added an additional Hotmail account and enabled syncing with Contacts, but for some reason, each of those contacts that belong to that account do not show a contact photo, it's just a blank square. Other information such as name and numbers etc are present.With the (primary) Microsoft Account i've used when setting up the phone, those very same contacts are displayed as they should be.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI searched the forum and found this problem mentioned a few times in the past, but the solutions are all for older OS, that is not applicable to the current 6.0 OS. There does not seem to be a "Dial From Home Screen" option to check any more.
Used to be, typing the beginning of a name from the Home screen brought up matches in the Contacts list so you could easily call them.Now when I type a name, other apps (mail,texts, etc) will display matches, but nothing from contacts. Indeed, dialing from the Home screen doesn't work at all -- I can't even type in a number.
How to add a direct dial contact to the screen? Seems that the functionality of this widget has disappeared on this phone.

Just about every one of the 6+ Billion telephones on the planet displays letters on the number keys, ie. ABC on #2, DEF on #3, and so on.Why is it that Nokia cannot see fit do do the same on the 5230 dial pad?
It can't be that the 'real estate is too small - LG manages to do it just fine on the Xenon GR500FD phone with smaller on-screen buttons.The lack of letters on the dialpad makes it extremely difficult to interact with IVR systems where you need to be able to dial by 'last name'think calling a large company or hospital when you don't know the person's extension.Has anyone found a way to mod the 5230 dialpad to display letters & numbers on it?
I have a Bold 9700 running 5.0.0.545 with bell mobility. When I upgraded to this version I am no longer able to type in a contact name from the home screen to dial them. I now have to go into the address book, then type their name. I can only enter numbers directly from the home screen. Is anyone else having this issue?

View 4 Replies View RelatedThere is always at least a 1 second lag between the time an event happens (phone ringing, message received, alarm sounding, etc.) and the time the screen actually lights up. So, when my phone is sitting next to me, when one of those things happens, I hover my finger over the screen for a second and wait for it to light up so I can do anything. I used to have an HTC 8x and the screen would always light up immediately.

Everything else seems to be working, the phone is beeping on email alerts. I can connect to the computer and zune also shows it as connected. All the three buttons are lit as well. The display is so sensitive that it registers even the smallest touches.There should be an option to change the sensitiveness. For example the click event could be generated after the button is pressed 100 ms. This should prevent unwanted clicks.

I was talking with the Rogers representative here in Canada, and he says the Lumia 900 doesn't support Name Display (as opposed to Caller ID). Is this true? Could it be possibly added via firmware changes?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using Nokia Drive and Maps on Lumia 710. Say I want to go to a school in a particular area. I need to search for the name of that school and only then set my location. If I try to zoom in to that area on the map, I do not see the school or other places of interest/businesses in that area. This is irritating as in google maps, if I zoom into a location, I get all the businesses/areas on interest in that area. Am I missing something?. If not, then nokia maps needs to have this feature as it is very useful.
