Do you know where I can find the information regarding each of the following symbols and their meanings:
"+", "*", "#", "p", and "w"
please note: these symbols appear on the dial pad display when adding telephone numbers in contacts.
Just about every one of the 6+ Billion telephones on the planet displays letters on the number keys, ie. ABC on #2, DEF on #3, and so on.Why is it that Nokia cannot see fit do do the same on the 5230 dial pad?
It can't be that the 'real estate is too small - LG manages to do it just fine on the Xenon GR500FD phone with smaller on-screen buttons.The lack of letters on the dialpad makes it extremely difficult to interact with IVR systems where you need to be able to dial by 'last name'think calling a large company or hospital when you don't know the person's extension.Has anyone found a way to mod the 5230 dialpad to display letters & numbers on it?
how to edit which information from the contacts that will be displayed when trying to call a contact? I cannot get anything else than Firstname, Company showed - which is not how I want this.
Furthermore I have found no way to lookup addresses in the Nokia Car navigator from contacts.
Nokia 5800 display problem in the new series has been solved? Or problem is not solved yet ?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm using my phone more than 5 months. Yesterday come back after work and saw that half of the display is in black and white stripes. I try restart it didn't help, in forums read that here may be soft problems, I have updated software, but it didn't help too. Maybe someone had the same problem. And I would like to know if I'll change lcd screen, it will solve this problem or not?

Under display options the sections should be:

Load images
Switch window
Page info.
I used to have them all but now I only have 3:

Where have the rest gone and how do I get them back?
When I listen to livestreaming radio with RealPlayer the screen it is not going back to operational working after the display timeout. You neet to exit RealPlayer and open it again to continue. Firmwareversion 31.0.101. This must be a bug.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWell I have this phone for over 2 years and now I have a big problem with it that won't go away. The screen goes completely into stripes and is unreadable. It just showed up like that and it's always when I use the screen-lock button (slide button on the side) that this happends and then stays.Once I got rid of it by rebooting the phone almost 10 times or turning it of a whole day but as soon as I use the screen-lock button (slide button on the side) it comes back.

I have a E72 latest firmware bought in the UK, made in Finland.The keyboard appears to be a English design with no other symbols but the software seems to be finnish becaue when i press the full stop button it comes up with รค and i have to press ! to use the full stop. There are other keys like this too.

(S) = displays a moon
(C) = displays a coffee cup

brand new device, pressing FN and then SYM gives me nothing at all also enabling virtual keyboard i get norhing showing up.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThrough Control Panel, Settings,General,Personalization,Standby Mode,Mode Settings,Application Shortcuts, I have changed 3 of the 6 home screen shortcut icons to Google, BBC weather and EbayMobile. Unfortunately they all show on the home screen as an icon of the planet Earth, and it's only when I move the cursor over them that the wording appears to show which one is which !
Does anyone know if the home screen icons can be changed to other symbols/pictures so I can recognize them without having to hover over them ? I can't find any way on the phone itself that enables this to be done and I've also tried to find any mention of it on the internet, but no luck ! Has anyone else tried to do this and been successful ? - Would be pleased to hear from you if you are able to resolve this !

The problem is that it does not display Cell Info display correctly. Only few times it shows, But only for sometime. Is this bug fixed in the latest version 5.44 ???? and it also has the signal problem .. If i put it in my pocket , the whole signal goes away in both sims....
I'm comparing to my 5530, On the contacts bar it nicely blends into the back ground, on the 5800 is a dirty oversized white block with the contact in the middle, no blending in or anything, same on the email, a horrible big white square, nothing blended in, I've tried different themes, and reflashed but no good.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSpace bar problem does not end with stop working here and there, my brother has a E71 and he can use space bar in home screen for searching the contact names, which makes it much much easier but in E72 u can't use it because it becomes Symbol botton instead "WEIRD"
example: if you have a name like: Megan Fox (YOU WISH) - in E71 write " m (space) f" and there you go buy with E72 if you hit space bar the Symbol block pups up " WEIRD " so you only can search eather first or last name "BAD"...i tested this on few E72s (i made sure it's not only mine)DO SOMETHING Nokia !! we (Nokia fans) are getting beat up, it's been so long and E72 really needs an UPDATE!!!!!
I have an E72 and a normal VPN service account. how to use the normal VPN service on E72, like on computer, just input username and password, then connected. I know there is a nokia VPN software, but it seems over complicated, I mean, certification etc.

I think so, but I didn't manage to so far.How do I add several numbers to a single contact? The Nokia phones that I had before distinguished between private, work and mobile number.
