I have a E72 latest firmware bought in the UK, made in Finland.The keyboard appears to be a English design with no other symbols but the software seems to be finnish becaue when i press the full stop button it comes up with ä and i have to press ! to use the full stop. There are other keys like this too.

Is it possible when using the keyboard, and the symbol key to select a symbol etc, that after you've selected the symbol you want and you then press the space bar, that the keyboard reverts back to letters rather than remaining on the symbol page?

Th problem is that the slide out keyboard mapping is probably wrong or some setting needs to be done.When I press a key with "?" on the slideout keyboard I get a ":" on the screen. This happens for other symbols also Numbers and alphets are correct only the symbols are messed up.

My keyboard now supports symbols such as $, Pound Sign etc. I dont really use arabic but only the english keyboard.Is there fix for this or is it settings related? My SI number is on the list and my android build number is 4.1.B.0.431?
why gps symbols cannot exit after i close my ovi map. after i exit ovi maps the gps symbols still display, please help me for solved this problem , i used firmware 30.009, latest ovi maps v3.04

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just sent a text message using brackets "( )" with letters insde and they ended up turning into icon symbols. So far i found:
(S) = displays a moon
(C) = displays a coffee cup
There maybe more w/ other letters, but I haven't tried them all.Nokia phones (Owned 1999-Now):5110, 3390, 3520, 6230, 6682, N72, 5800 XM , Lumia 800, Lumia 900 (Currently owned)
brand new device, pressing FN and then SYM gives me nothing at all also enabling virtual keyboard i get norhing showing up.

Through Control Panel, Settings,General,Personalization,Standby Mode,Mode Settings,Application Shortcuts, I have changed 3 of the 6 home screen shortcut icons to Google, BBC weather and EbayMobile. Unfortunately they all show on the home screen as an icon of the planet Earth, and it's only when I move the cursor over them that the wording appears to show which one is which !
Does anyone know if the home screen icons can be changed to other symbols/pictures so I can recognize them without having to hover over them ? I can't find any way on the phone itself that enables this to be done and I've also tried to find any mention of it on the internet, but no luck ! Has anyone else tried to do this and been successful ? - Would be pleased to hear from you if you are able to resolve this !

At the top of the screen, in the statusline, there are some symbols I don't understand. I get warnings that I have shut down datatraffic and roaming, but there is still a small R on the statusline. Furthermore there was two arrows to the left, and this change into small boxes with a red cross when I switched off the datatraffic My question is: is my phone sat to download and upload with the R still on, wich will probably cost a lot of money, and how can I switch it off if necessary? Witch services will I not be able to use with the datatraffic switched off?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have the Blackberry Curve 9300, v5.0.0.846, bundle 1440, platform 6.3.0.39, and I noticed on BBM and on Twitter and such, that when people post some symbols or small different lettering and such, they show up as small black squares instead of what they actually posted. A friend of mine put in their BBM name "love" in a different type lettering, but all I could see was 4 small black squares. It wasn't until I looked at my friends phone, who has a bold, that I noticed it actually said something, whereas I thought my friend had actually put the small black squares. View 3 Replies View RelatedAlong the top 'status bar' of my Desire Z's screen I've become used to seeing strange symbols appear and disappear. Some are quite obvious - signal strength, battery level, 3G etc but most are very unintuitive and quite difficult to figure out. One that appears regularly is the capital letter 'H'. Here in the UK, a capital 'H' normally means that you're in the vicinity of a hospital but I don't think it can mean that. Another one I often see is a musical note with a strikeout line through it.
It took me ages to figure out that this meant I had my sound profile set to Silent. At the LHS of the status bar I've just acquired two new symbols that I've never seen before. They look like a downward facing arrow with an underscore beneath them. The first one appeared yesterday and the second one about an hour later. Nothing seems to get rid of them - not even switching the phone off, then on again. Is there anywhere where I can find out what some of these cryptic symbols mean?
I recently upgraded my Uber Twitter to ver. 0.971, but I cannot use all the symbols anymore. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling, but to no avail.
I use an 8520 Curve.Please help, I really want my symbols back!
