okay so for the past few months whenever I text people, they text back saying they get the message as a bunch of symbols or jibberish. It doesn't happen every time but it happens often. I went to verizon and they told me they couldn't help me and gave me the number to customer support which I have yet to call?
View 3 RepliesWell a couple of months ago, on bbm, if I was to type a message it would delete what I was saying and randomly change to symbols instead of letters, and it would be stuck on alt. Recently, I have not had the charger for three days, as my brother took it, so my phone was dead for three days. When I got the charger back and charged it up, the keyboard wouldn't work, then it would go dead even though I am pushing the button that turns it on. And the only way it does turn on is when you charge it but it lasts for 5 seconds literally. The weirdest thing is the light is still flashing?

We regularly group message 2 iPhone users, so when we tried to start a new conversation, my husband can see all the messages but I can not. Sometimes I'll get a new text from "Anonymous" saying "message not found" and it seems like it happens when my husband messages the group. Why is it functioning properly for his phone, but not mine? This morning I got the same message from Anonymous and my husband did not text the group, so now I'm obviously missing out on messages!! This is so frustrating! I have iMessages turned off on my old iPhone, the iPhone users have group text and SMS turned on on their phones, they've reentered our contacts, we're using the stock messaging app on the LG. I don't know what to do. And it's totally inconvenient to ask all my iPhone using friends to text through WhatsApp or any other app.

Usually this is fine but now these people are writing me back and saying that my phone is just sending them weird symbols and numbers instead of my intended message. if I turn off imessage, my texts seem to be fine but I would like to be able to use imessage still.

Crossed over from an iphone 4s to an Lg G4 7 days ago. Love the phone but trying to group text between me and my iphone buddies is proving very difficult. I cant see their original responses in the group, instead only see individual responses. Initiating a group text results in only my buddies seeing only my response and no one else.
I've deregistered my phone number from apples website a couple days ago and even days earlier turned off imessaging on my old device but still get the same results. I downloaded and installed textra made it my default messaging app, turned on the group mms option still same thing. I've even told my friends to delete my contact information on their phones and wait for a group text from me; same result. What more can i do? I dont think telling them to turn off imessaging on their end is fair because all their text messages to other iphones will be sent not using imessage. What more can i do?
Could it be possible that the way my contacts are setup is screwing up my group messaging? Or is this strictly an ios glitch on apples side? How do you all go about setting up group texts and can you name a group text? My group name is always "3" standing for the 3 other recipients that i send the message to. Is there no way to rename this?
I can text non iphone users, but not iphone users...just strated. Turned off imessage and now it's working. Shouldn't have to do that.

I have not had any trouble sending text just receiving them. I have only been notified by one person using an android that they had sent a text which I did not receive. All other text issues have been sent from iphones which my children have. I contacted Straight Talk which is my carrier and they told me that if I could send a text to myself and receive it then it was not my phone. I had a Samsung Proclaim previously and did not have any trouble. I have sent a text to myself as Straight Talk suggested and I received it fine. Both phones were/or are on the Straight Talk plan using verizon towers.

The bar on the top of the screen between the "select a profile" and the "search magnifying glass" where the notifications pop up not sure what that page is called but in this slide down screen under Text Messages I have a text message that is staying at unread. Even though I have deleted the text message and I've tried everything to try and get it to go away. Today I have a Blackberry Messenger Message that won't delete as well. Does anyone else have this problem and figure out a way to refresh and get ride of it? I've tried turning the device on and off a few times but doesn't fix the issue.

The other symbol is sometimes on the left of the 3G and I can only describe it as a box with a dot in the middle and a hook coming out of the top!

The appears as when I yse synbol above the g in email and other text but NOT in the email address field when adding a new username. Also, cannot just copy and paste - the symbol disappears. A friend of mine put in their BBM name "love" in a different type lettering, but all I could see was 4 small black squares. It wasn't until I looked at my friends phone, who has a bold, that I noticed it actually said something, whereas I thought my friend had actually put the small black squares. In the BBM settings I have 4 pages of symbols, which include smileys, but in the text message menu I only have 2 pages of symbols, which do NOT include the smiley faces. When I receive a text from people who add smileys, all I get is the symbols such as it works fine in the BBM service, both sending and receiving, but not in text.do I need to download an app or something. Im a bit new with using a BB so any help in plain english would be good! and also while im on it, the places app on facebook does not seem to work for me, the GPS, ect is all switched on!
