I have tried to reload blackberry computer software 6.1 on my laptop and I have restore my phone to factory settings and nothing is not working for me. I cannot synchronized my phone with blackberry apps world. I get a error saying all the time : An unknown error has occurred (EC).
I have 2 symbols on my phone. One is a little house with a chimney next to the Orange logo - it is sometimes green and sometimes red. The other symbol is sometimes on the left of the 3G and I can only describe it as a box with a dot in the middle and a hook coming out of the top!
Why do I get 2 signal symbols on my phone. And everytime someone calls or I make a phone call I always hear the sound when you record something. I got my phone as a gift and there are many applications that are not available.
I am adding a new email account (a work account) to my 8520 and I need a symbol for the address (xxxusername@company.com). The appears as when I yse synbol above the g in email and other text but NOT in the email address field when adding a new username. Also, cannot just copy and paste - the symbol disappears. I have changed gont, rebooted, everythign! It is driving me nuts.
I have the Blackberry Curve 9300, v5.0.0.846, bundle 1440, platform 6.3.0.39, and I noticed on BBM and on Twitter and such, that when people post some symbols or small different lettering and such, they show up as small black squares instead of what they actually posted. A friend of mine put in their BBM name "love" in a different type lettering, but all I could see was 4 small black squares. It wasn't until I looked at my friends phone, who has a bold, that I noticed it actually said something, whereas I thought my friend had actually put the small black squares. The black squares look a little something like this, except bigger and black: ▪▪
okay so for the past few months whenever I text people, they text back saying they get the message as a bunch of symbols or jibberish. It doesn't happen every time but it happens often. I went to verizon and they told me they couldn't help me and gave me the number to customer support which I have yet to call?
Well a couple of months ago, on bbm, if I was to type a message it would delete what I was saying and randomly change to symbols instead of letters, and it would be stuck on alt. Recently, I have not had the charger for three days, as my brother took it, so my phone was dead for three days. When I got the charger back and charged it up, the keyboard wouldn't work, then it would go dead even though I am pushing the button that turns it on. And the only way it does turn on is when you charge it but it lasts for 5 seconds literally. The weirdest thing is the light is still flashing?
The keys on the key pad of my BB curve 8520 are inverted (4 of them) when I press the A key I get the Q and vise versa and so are the W and the Z. The funny thing is that the symbol keys on those same keys are correct! How I can correct this.
an unknown icon that is in my status bar on my blackberry torch. It is light grey kinda looks looks like a mouse with a tail or a Bluetooth earbud. It also has a red circle with a white star indicating there is a new message or something. When I click on the status bar it brings up all the other indicated messages or calls in the list but there is no list to correspond with this icon. When this showed up I had no Bluetooth linked to this phone so I don't think that's it...
Red balloon icon came on yesterday with a birthday notification (from a birthday reminder app). Cannot delete delete icon. Has not happened before when I have had birthday reminders.
I tried to download photos/contact details for the first time on my pc I downloaded the software off the Blackberry website and everything went swimmingly until it asked for a password. I have no idea what it is must have set one up in the shop or I perhaps did it when I first had the phone anyway I cat remember it and it is imperative that I do not lose the photos and contacts that I have must have had he phone for over a year. The phone is now asking for a password in letters -this is different to my usual 4 number access code.
I have a BB Curve 8530 and I have an icon on my home screen that I cannot figure out. It looks similar to the icon used for missed call or placed call except it has a curved arrow next to it. It is a gold phone receiver and the arrow is bent at a 45 degree angle. (kind of like a backwards check mark with an arrow head on the bottom). I have a suspicion that it has to do with call forwarding since I forwarded calls to a different phone # the other day, however, I cancelled that. I have checked my messages folder, rebooted, pulled battery, done an update, etc. Nothing works.
Every night at 10:30, an alert sounds for something on my phone. I don't know what it's for and I can't find any alarm or alerts set....It's quite annoying and I need it to stop!
I see people regularly have icons/symbols on their display that they don't know what they stand for. Now I've got one ... it's close to the top, to the right on where of where the symbols show you have messages and/or voicemails. This one looks like a smiley face with a star over the left eye. There's a number 1 next to it. Help please.
Also, where is the master chart from BlackBerry, or the carrier, the deciphers these. It seems to be a common problem that's not covered very well in the user's manual.Isn't there a link somewhere to the master chart? My phone is an 83** with Sprint.
I have a slight problemo. This symbol randomly appeared and now i cannnot recieve or make calls. I have looked for the symbol in the manuals and its unheard of so far. haha. Its a yellow fone with a symbol 1 and a arrow pointing at the 1, in a almost lightning pattern, It is on my main screne as well as whenim dialing a number it is in the line 1 bar above the dialpad.
My daughters boyfriend gave her his old Blackberry Curve 8900, after he got a newer blackberry on his contract. My daughter just used her old sim from her old tmobile phone. I pay £15 per month for her to have 600 minutes and unlimited texts. But since using her sim in the BB, there have been strange charges appearing on her statement. She doesn't use any apps on there, and hasn't seen anything happening on the phone so we're at a loss as to what these charges are. They are only a few pence, but last month it came to over £7 and this month in just 3 days the total is already £2.She popped into our local tmobile store and was told that BB's are not supposed to be used without a data package, whatever that's supposed to mean.Tmobile do a booster for unlimited internet for just under £5 but I can't really afford to be paying that every month, i'd just rather get rid of these extra charges all together. I am using BB Desktop Manager 6.2010 with bb curve running 5.0.0.2030. I am attempting to sync outlook 2007 on my PC running XP. Every time the sync begins I get an unknown error and the sync shuts down.
I have acquired a new icon on my Blackberry 9300 Curve screen - a five pointed gold star with a small black dot in the centre. Have no idea what it relates to or why it suddenly appeared. Can't find any outstanding updates to do. Get the impression that my battery use is speeding up as if there is some activity constantly running.
about a week ago, an additional nes message icon appeared at the top of the screen. It looks like a new message icon, gold and slanted slightly to the right. the number 1 next to it. Right now it is to the left of my regular message icon although I have seen it on the right too. I cleared both of my message lists and the icon is still there. I don't have any messages in facebook or twitter.I don't know how to find out what this icon represents or how to get to its list.
I am trying to do up a free BlackBerry I got given for my friends son. I have put a new screen and keypad on it, but when I turn it on, it just turns on to a white screen, no matter what. After a bit of googling I found it referred to as a "white screen of death", and that I should install the latest Desktop Software and OS, which I have done. I have followed the instructions (take out the battery, connect USB to computer, etc) but then it asks for the Unlock Pin. I have entered the PIN off the side of the box, which it did not accept. I am wondering where else I might find the Unlock Pin? Also, is this the best way of getting rid of the white screen and getting the phone back to working order. I've got it all looking nice before I give it to the kid, now I just need it to work! The former owner said they did a system restore before they gave it to me, and i'm not worried about wiping out any/all existing information, as the phone is going to someone else
an unusual icon has appeared on my screen, anyone know how to get rid of it or what it is?! its a blue square with white dots in it and a red start in top corner of the blue square. it has a number one beside it. never seen this before, its not a facebook notification from what i can ascertain
