Will IOS 8 fix the problems with Droid users not receiving text messages?Â
Whether or not the new IOS will solve the problem of Droid users not getting texts from iPhone users because of problems with IMessage?

I am not able to reply to any iMessages or start a conversation with ONLY one of my contacts who is using the iPod iOS 5 system... However I am able to receive messages from him. I have tried everything from restoring my phone multiple times to deleting and re creating a new iCloud account ... Is there something that I'm missing?

I have a Droid Bionic, and ever since i got the phone, i randomly do not get text messages from another user with an Iphone on the Verizon network. It may be happening with other phones, but I'm only aware of the Iphone because she lives with me. Anyone else having issues with not being able to receive texts? I get no notification or anything. It's as if they weren't sent, but they went through on the originating phone.
View 11 Replies View RelatedYesterday my phone suddenly stopped vibrating when I receive a text message. I have my phone settings on "vibrate when in silent mode" (which it is in silent mode) and the text message settings in vibrate. When I check "vibrate" in the messaging settings, the phone vibrates, but not when I am actually receiving a text message. I use no apps for text messaging other than the one installed on the phone. Is anyone else having this problem? I have turned the phone off and took the battery out for about 5 minutes, restarted and still nothing!
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have not had any trouble sending text just receiving them. I have only been notified by one person using an android that they had sent a text which I did not receive. All other text issues have been sent from iphones which my children have. I contacted Straight Talk which is my carrier and they told me that if I could send a text to myself and receive it then it was not my phone. I had a Samsung Proclaim previously and did not have any trouble. I have sent a text to myself as Straight Talk suggested and I received it fine. Both phones were/or are on the Straight Talk plan using verizon towers.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Droid Razr XT912. All of a sudden, I'm not receiving any text messages!! Messaging worked fine when I first got the phone (a few weeks ago), then a couple of days ago, there was a huge delay in getting texts (of a few hours to an entire day), and now, no text messages whatsoever (I know for sure that three separate people have texted me a few times and I've gotten nothing!). I dont' think it's a service issue, as I move around quite a lot and the messages haven't ever arrived (plus, I called my provider and they said everything was fine on their end, but I suppose that's what they always say).
Not sure what the problem is. I haven't made any big changes to the phone since when I received text messages without any problem. Calls/e-mails/updates/apps/etc.still working fine, but curiously, my weather widget stopped updating about a week ago, and still refuses to work, even though my coverage is allegedly fine.Ideas? I'm desperate as most of my communication is done through text.or what it's worth, I live in China and my service provider is China Telecom. The phone has been unlocked and rooted
For some reason, although I can successfully send messages using iMessage using my iPhone, and these are successfully replicated to all my other iOS devices, I do not seem to receive iMessage messages on my iPhone. I do get my SMS messages, but not my iMessage ones.

I have an IPad2 and IPhone 4S running the latest OS 5.1. I was texting with a 3rd party on my IPhone and was recieving responses back (all blue - not SMS). I was expecting a response on my iphone and did not recieve it in a timely manner but when I looked at my IPad the response was there. I waited around 5 minutes and still nothing. Then i dropped out of iMessage on my IPhone and started it back up and then I saw the text pop up.

I have a Motorola Electrify from US Cellular, and am able to get text messages from anyone that is not on the Sprint network. My sprint friends receive texts from me, but when they answer, I do not get them.
Is there a setting that I should check, or have them to check?

I have some confusion about iMessage. I could send and receive most of messages from other iphone users. But, I cannot receive messages from my parent in China, who also uses iphone. However, he can successfully send and receive messages from other users as well. He can receive my message in text, while I cannot receive his messages.

Usually when I write an sms it shows up green and imessages shows up blue, and they both show up chronologically in the same window. I.e. my iphone understands it is from the same person and therefor post both types of messages in the same window. However a month ago or so my boyfriends imessages started showing up in a seperate window from his regular green text messages... Why? We have changed no settings of any sort. Nothining has been altered, and on his iphone both types of texts show up in the same window. My other iphone contacts also show up in the same window with both green an blue texts. How come his dont? His email as such is not a part of his contact details, i did however try adding it to see if that would help make the messages go in the same window but it didnt He has a iphone 3s i have 4, (not s).All I want is for the blue and the green messages to live together in perfect harmony within one window...

My boyfriend and I text every day and we both have iPhone 4's So it sends as iMessage. Ever since last night our texts have been sending as text message rather than iMessage and we cant figure out why. Were guessing it's on his end since I can text other people on iMessage. yesterday his keyboard wouldn't come up so he turned it off and back on and shortly after that our messages would only be sent as text. We've checked to make sure iMessage is on and that our 3G is up and running . Would doing a restart (ie. Holding power and home) do anything?

I don't pay for a messaging plan, so every time my texts don't go as an iMessage it cost us $. Both sending and receiving. We use an iPhone 4 and a 4s. Is this an Apple issue or a carrier issue?

Sometimes when I text another person who has an iPhone the text message switches from iMessage to a regular text message -- from a "blue" message to a "green" one (if you know what I mean). I do not have an unlimited texting plan, so this means it counts against my 200 text limit. Does anyone know why this happens and if there is a setting I need to adjust?

I have an iPhone 4s and never had any problems but last night my iPhone stopped receiving text messages (from other iPhone users and other phone types). I messed around with my settings and my text messages started appearing again (although I can't remember what I pressed now)! i have not been receiving all text message for 3 days now. yet my network provider is saying there is nothing wrong with my phone as i could receive their test messages they sent to my phone. I have had a replacement sim card and network reset. I am having the same problem with several people, of who i receive some text messaes from them, but not all.

hello, I just upgraded my phone to the .732. Everything went smoothly during the upgrade, ever since then I have been having trouble with receiving text messages and MMS messages. I have gone to 3 sites for free ringtones have sent the ring tones to my phone, I have not received anything. I also have setup google voice and I am not getting any text messages from people tht text my google voice number.
