I don't pay for a messaging plan, so every time my texts don't go as an iMessage it cost us $. Both sending and receiving. We use an iPhone 4 and a 4s. Is this an Apple issue or a carrier issue?

View 1 Replies View RelatedUp until a couple of weeks ago it worked fine. now it will only send regular text messages. I have a good wifi and/or 3G connection, the receiver has an iphone, switched it on-off in the settings and I triend to reset my apple ID.

I am using Nokia N 97 with a prepaid cellular account, yesterday I noticed that my prepaid balance was much less than expected, I checked with my cellular carrier & found that several expensive text messages have been sent to 1818. Searching the web I found at[URL]that downloading an illegal version of of the game 'Mosquitos' cuses infection with a a Trojan that infects the phone and sends the costly SMS messages without the owner realizing, but I did not install this illegal program, what I did download from Ovi store was a program called 'mosquito repellant', could this be the cause of trogen infection?

I updated to iOS 5.1.1 today, and ever since my iMessages will send, say they're delivered and the display the exclamation point and the delivery failure notification. Now the weird thing is that sometimes the person I send to actually does recieve the imessage, and then I'll still see the delivery failure notification and below it "read at ....". I also use messages beta for os X, and this stopped working altogether.
I have restared messages on mac I have restarted my mac. I have restarted my iPhone. I have restarted the messages app on my iPhone. I have turned iMessages on and off. I have restored my iPhone. I'm really out of moves and getting desperate.

when I tested this at home it worked. I'm now in cyprus connected to a wireless connection from which I'm sending this yet when I try and send an iMessage from iMessage in flight mode to be sure 100% that I am not getting charged it fails. If I turn all network connections back ok etc it just sends as a text!! I tested it in the uk before I left and it worked but now nothing?

Usually when I write an sms it shows up green and imessages shows up blue, and they both show up chronologically in the same window. I.e. my iphone understands it is from the same person and therefor post both types of messages in the same window. However a month ago or so my boyfriends imessages started showing up in a seperate window from his regular green text messages... Why? We have changed no settings of any sort. Nothining has been altered, and on his iphone both types of texts show up in the same window. My other iphone contacts also show up in the same window with both green an blue texts. How come his dont? His email as such is not a part of his contact details, i did however try adding it to see if that would help make the messages go in the same window but it didnt He has a iphone 3s i have 4, (not s).All I want is for the blue and the green messages to live together in perfect harmony within one window...

My boyfriend and I text every day and we both have iPhone 4's So it sends as iMessage. Ever since last night our texts have been sending as text message rather than iMessage and we cant figure out why. Were guessing it's on his end since I can text other people on iMessage. yesterday his keyboard wouldn't come up so he turned it off and back on and shortly after that our messages would only be sent as text. We've checked to make sure iMessage is on and that our 3G is up and running . Would doing a restart (ie. Holding power and home) do anything?

Every time I try to delete it, my phone gets really hot and my messages app doesn't work. This happens when I send messages to people on both Sprint and other carriers. I have one problem with my AT&T iPhone 4. I send texts to people and they don't receive it. It sends but the person doesn't receive it. This is multiple people on different networks. Sometimes I don't even receive their texts. I did a little research and I learned that it isn't an issue from Apple but rather AT&T. And this has been going on for a few weeks. Should I contact AT&T about this?

I'm having a problem accepting text messages directly to my number from another iPhone. I'm on a family plan and all 3 phones are iPhone 5. This morning my mother in law was texting my wife and I (group message), but I never received anything. When I looked on my wife's iPhone I saw my number was there correctly. My mother in law can only send me messages if she sends them to my Apple ID.Â
I checked my message settings > send receive and both my number and Apple ID are checked. i Don't have any trouble sending or receiving messages from non iphones.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi have noticed that after switching to ios 5.1 my phone has been acting funny. for example: when i am messaging other iphone users with iMessage, it keeps switching from iMessage to regular text every 2 or 3 messages. at first i thought it was the other person since i am normally within my works wifi network and at my home wifi network, but it seems that this problem only occurs to other people when imessaging with me and not with anyone else. and this problem occurs to me while imessaging everyone, so i have come to the conclusion that the problem must be my phone. i have noticed this problem to occur since updating to ios 5.1. has anyone else experienced this problem? what can i do? i am 2 steps shy of reinstalling my phone.
