IPhone :: IMessage Will Not Work When Text Others Who Also Have The 4?
Jun 6, 2012
My iMessage will not work when I text others who also have the iPhone 4. Is this something I need to fix on my phone, if so how, or does this need to be fixed from the other persons phone? My iMessage is turned on also!
I don't pay for a messaging plan, so every time my texts don't go as an iMessage it cost us $. Both sending and receiving. We use an iPhone 4 and a 4s. Is this an Apple issue or a carrier issue?
I updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 5.1 when it was released. My friend updated his iPhone 4S delayed, yesterday. Before yesterday iMessage worked well between our iPhones. But since my friend updated to iOS 5.1 as well, iMessage does not work anymore between our two iPhones.iMessage works well with all other adresses we both use as well. But only our two iPhones cannot use iMessage anymore.
i have noticed that after switching to ios 5.1 my phone has been acting funny. for example: when i am messaging other iphone users with iMessage, it keeps switching from iMessage to regular text every 2 or 3 messages. at first i thought it was the other person since i am normally within my works wifi network and at my home wifi network, but it seems that this problem only occurs to other people when imessaging with me and not with anyone else. and this problem occurs to me while imessaging everyone, so i have come to the conclusion that the problem must be my phone. i have noticed this problem to occur since updating to ios 5.1. has anyone else experienced this problem? what can i do? i am 2 steps shy of reinstalling my phone.
Two days ago my iMessaging quit sending or receiving messages. I have searched the internet for fixes but nothing will work. I am lost without the service
I have a sprint iPhone 4. And I haven't activated it yet. I want to use iMessage but its stuck on 'Waiting for activation' and 'verifying on my number' how do I get it to work? It works, if I receive a iMessage I can reply back, but I want to send one out it's stuck on Text Message.
I have some confusion about iMessage. I could send and receive most of messages from other iphone users. But, I cannot receive messages from my parent in China, who also uses iphone. However, he can successfully send and receive messages from other users as well. He can receive my message in text, while I cannot receive his messages.
Why won't my daughters iPhone 3 iMessage work no longer? It use to work just fine, now nothing, not to anyone. It says "iMessage needs to be enabled to send this message" however it is?
I recently got a new iPhone 4. I have had problems with my iMessage since i first got it. Now my iMessage will only work when there is a wifi network and I can't revieve any texts that are sent from other iPhones (not using wifi) through their own iMessage. They all use their iMessage through their 3G network and mine doesnt seem to be working. At the moment my iMessage will not activate, it seems to be one thing after another, what can I do to make it so that I can use it through my 3G network?
I updated to iOS 5.1.1 today, and ever since my iMessages will send, say they're delivered and the display the exclamation point and the delivery failure notification. Now the weird thing is that sometimes the person I send to actually does recieve the imessage, and then I'll still see the delivery failure notification and below it "read at ....". I also use messages beta for os X, and this stopped working altogether.
I have restared messages on mac I have restarted my mac. I have restarted my iPhone. I have restarted the messages app on my iPhone. I have turned iMessages on and off. I have restored my iPhone. I'm really out of moves and getting desperate.
Yesterday, I lost my phone at the mall. I used iCloud's "Find My iPhone" to locate it but in case I didn't get it back, I deleted all the data in it and called my carrier to deactivate my line. I was able to get it back so I got my line reactivated and restored it from a back up. But now, my iMessage and FaceTime won't work. I've restored it multiple times but it won't activate. What should I do?
My iMessage won't work with a specific contact. It says, "Turn off airplane mode or use wi-fi to send and receive messages". I can send and receive messaged from other people but not one particular contact. We are both connected to the wifi.
When I had ios 6 my imessage was working fine despite me reading complaints then I updated to ios 7 and it stopped working I have tried all the tips and tricks posted on the web it'll work maximum for a day and stop. I will be starting to type out the message as imessage then it's sent as a text because at that split second it decided to stop working again. Â
my screen does not switch do landscape mode any more in the imessage app. i'm holding the phone as i always did. in other apps like the email client it still works, just not in de message app any more.
when I tested this at home it worked. I'm now in cyprus connected to a wireless connection from which I'm sending this yet when I try and send an iMessage from iMessage in flight mode to be sure 100% that I am not getting charged it fails. If I turn all network connections back ok etc it just sends as a text!! I tested it in the uk before I left and it worked but now nothing?
Recently I switched from a CDMA service to GSM iPhone 4s using my same phone number. Facetime and iMessage will not activate. However, under Facetime settings where there is usually a phone number my email address is there (which is also my apple ID). So even though this is not activated someone can Facetime me using my email address. My phone was reset to factory settings twice and it didn't help. Apple Store tried to fix it to no avail and gave me a new phone. Once they loaded it back up, same issue. So we decided it was the carrier of the service. I checked with them and they are puzzled as well. We are thinking it has something to do with taking my existing phone number from CDMA to GSM and something happened.
I have a Windows 7 PC with a folder full of .gifs. When I go to sync them onto my iPhone 6, they won't work when I try to send them via iMessage. Did they change it so you can't send it anymore or is there a specific way?
I have the iPhone 4 with 3G. I don't use my phone all that much...use iMessage approx. 3x/week, and I listen to iHeart Radio at home on wifi. This is my issue: I got a notice that I was over my data usage and will be billed $15. My questions are...is iMessage free when you text between iPhones on AT&T? Does IHeart Radio use data? I feel that I might have my settings wrong because my sister says she uses iMessage all e time and NEVER goes over her data. How can I check my data usage so I don't go over again?
I am exchanging some messages with friends and family that live in Europe. The problem is, occassionaly, the iPhone will give up as sending as an iMessage and then send as a text. As a result, I am being charged for sending an international message, when I would rather just write an email or skype (if iMessage wasnt going to do its job). Is there anyway to set strictly iMessage to certain contacts?
