All of the attempts I make to send a message as an iMessage fail - they all send as texts.I have iMessage turned on in the settings, have "send as sms" off, but all messages sent to iphone users still send as texts.

Up until a couple of weeks ago it worked fine. now it will only send regular text messages. I have a good wifi and/or 3G connection, the receiver has an iphone, switched it on-off in the settings and I triend to reset my apple ID.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo my Bold 9780 has been acting very weird lately. And for some reason I think it has somethign to do with BB Protect. It wanted to do an update while I was in a wifi zone and then thigns started going wrong from that day.So what happens is i'll be scanning thru the icons and they'll just open without me clicking on them. Also, when texting or using bbm, my msg will send without me clicking send. So I will be half done a msg and it'll send. Finally, I've tried to battery out, restore, and all those classic quick fix optoins and they haven't worked.

so for the past few months my iphone hasnt been recieving texts from people who dont have iphones via the iMessage texts. I dont know if i changed a setting or something on my account was screwed up or if its just my phone but if i text someone without an iphone or if they text me none of the messages get through. Is there a simple fix like a factory reset or is it hopeless?

I don't like when things from my phone sync to my iPad or iPod, so I am wondering if there is a way to keep the texts on my phone and off of everything else. I share my iPad with others and don't want to be in the middle of a conversation when all of a sudden it just appears while someone else is using the iPad. In addition, I don't want the messages to syn to the computer when I plug my phone in, as I also share the computer with others. This has kept me from using iMessage because of how iCloud works

I have a huge problem with texting people who switched phones from iPhone to ie Samsung or Sony and no longer have iMessage option. My iPhone still recognizes these contacts as iPhone(iMessage). Â Everytime I want to text them I have to switch the iMessage option off (or really quickly press the button 'send as an sms'. , but thats no fun or working well whatsoever). Â How can I 'tell' my iphone that these contacts are no longer iPhone users, so don't try to iMessage them? Â

I recently moved away from home for school and where I moved to I'm roaming constantly. My phone started not receiving or sending texts to people without iMessage. I turned my iMessage off to try to send myself a text and make the others come through and now my iMessage won't activate. I can only receive phone calls now. I've tried everything to fix it. Sometimes when I text another person who has an iPhone the text message switches from iMessage to a regular text message -- from a "blue" message to a "green" one (if you know what I mean). I do not have an unlimited texting plan, so this means it counts against my 200 text limit. Does anyone know why this happens and if there is a setting I need to adjust?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI send a lot of group texts and the groups vary quite a bit. I have not set up the various combinations of recipients as actual "groups" in iMessage. Let's say I sent a text to Tom, Dick & Harry. Then the next day, I sent a text to Tom & Dick. Then the next day, I sent a text to Tom, Dick, Harry & Jane. If I now go to send a new message to just Tom, his contact now appears fourth on list of contacts when I type "Tom" in the "to" line, behind:

It's even worse because in some instances, I've included names like Tom in over a dozen random texts involving many people. It's like iMessage is claiming I want each of those group texts to be saved as an actual "group" or at least saved in the results when I'm typing in someone's name for a new text. I DON'T want that. I may have sent a text once to Tom, Dick, Jane, Mary, Ted, Bob & Homer to meet me by the third base line at Cellular Field but obviously I'll only actually need to use that group once because everyone knows with a group that large, there's only a slim chance everyone will get out of the Cell alive anyway. I just want to send Tom a text, after he lost a bet and had to go to a White Sox game, and I don't want to have to scroll past all the random "Groups" he's been in just to find his contact.

I updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 5.1 when it was released. My friend updated his iPhone 4S delayed, yesterday. When I use the google maps app that is pre-set to the iPhone all it does is send me to places that have the name of what I'm looking for on the map but when I reach the place where is supposed to be it's not there. When sending sms on my Sprint 4s it sometimes sends multiple messages when I use less than 160 characters, by splitting them up. Sometimes the second text is just one word. This happens when I send messages to people on both Sprint and other carriers. When sending the message my 4s makes the sound of sending more than one message as if I had typed over the 160 character limit. How can I stop this??

The issue I am having:In my Gmail account settings, I have it set to send mail using only my initials, so that when I send a message to someone they will only see (A J) for example. When sending emails from my browser in gmail, this works fine. If I go to my iPhone, and send a response to an email thread, it will send from my full name. Any emails that I send from my iPhone automatically show my full name. Is there some type of account setting for this? I don't want it to use my full name when I send email from the phone. I have looked everywhere and don't see any setting for this. I have also called Apple support and they have no idea.
