I've added an additional Hotmail account and enabled syncing with Contacts, but for some reason, each of those contacts that belong to that account do not show a contact photo, it's just a blank square. Other information such as name and numbers etc are present.With the (primary) Microsoft Account i've used when setting up the phone, those very same contacts are displayed as they should be.

We have set up her phone with both her Hotmail and Facebook, but that means that when she goes to "persons" she gets a couple of hundred contacts, And she does NOT want that.
She has a list (on her OLD phone) of about 50 contacts she wants, no more no less.
So we went into the settings, and asked it to filter off all contacts from Hotmail and Facebook, which is fine.
BUT, now she can't add new contacts (like in the old days) ... well she can, but they are automatically new Hotmail-contacts, and they get filtered away...
QUESTION: Is there no way to add a contact manually (like in the old days), and it gets saved to "the phone"?
We did manage to move all the old contacts from her old phone, to the new one - but they automatically becomes Hotmail-contacts... (and are filtered off!)
how to edit which information from the contacts that will be displayed when trying to call a contact? I cannot get anything else than Firstname, Company showed - which is not how I want this.
Furthermore I have found no way to lookup addresses in the Nokia Car navigator from contacts.
I have my contacts through Verizon Backup Assistant Plus on Icon. How do I sync to Microsoft Account (Hotmail)?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a Lumia 920 having upgraded from an N8. I've transfered my contact from the N8 via contact transfer which then are shown as I want them in the phone book list. Problem is, when I add email accounts, it syncs everyone in my email acounts to, people who I may of emailed as far back as 1999! As I have 4 different email addresses, i'm getting nearly 1000 contacts in my phone list as opposed to the 200 odd I need. When I filter the contact list in email settings I lose alll the phone ones too. I only want my old phone list to show.

Previously, all my contacts were taken periodically from my Nokia E71 phone and moved to my Hotmail account.I found no reason for this, although other threads here suggested I disable the contacts option in the email accounts part of my phone.I not only did this, I upgraded the phone software and then imported the phone contacts from the backup I had made in Nokia PC Suite.
Now I need to import the rest of my contacts from Hotmail, the ones which were removed from my phone without my wanting them to be removed.
With some of my contacts an incoming call with a Caller ID does not display the caller's name, although they are in my Contact List and the number is in a valid format.Same is the case for sms's from the same contact.I only have one entry of that contact in my phonebook.Any 1 facing the same issue?
View 6 Replies View RelatedSince flashing my phone to update to PR1.2, any time I get a phone call from someone who is in my Contacts, it just displays the telephone number, which can cause an issue if I don't recognise it at first glance.Any ideas what could have caused this and how to resolve? I've noticed every once in a while my screen will display unsaturated, and each tile would look like it has a vignette around it. It almost looks HDRish. I've tried to get a screen grab showing this but then when I went to look at my screen grabs to show someone, and the screen grabs appeared normal, so definitely a display issue.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Lumia 900's display suddenly went off. No, it didnt fall down or nothing of that sory happened. Everything else seems to be working, the phone is beeping on email alerts. I can connect to the computer and zune also shows it as connected. All the three buttons are lit as well. I tried restarting, hard reset everything - no improvement.Also tried restoring to previous version of software via Zune.

The display is so sensitive that it registers even the smallest touches.There should be an option to change the sensitiveness. For example the click event could be generated after the button is pressed 100 ms. This should prevent unwanted clicks.

I was talking with the Rogers representative here in Canada, and he says the Lumia 900 doesn't support Name Display (as opposed to Caller ID). Is this true? Could it be possibly added via firmware changes?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using Nokia Drive and Maps on Lumia 710. Say I want to go to a school in a particular area. I need to search for the name of that school and only then set my location. If I try to zoom in to that area on the map, I do not see the school or other places of interest/businesses in that area. This is irritating as in google maps, if I zoom into a location, I get all the businesses/areas on interest in that area. Am I missing something?. If not, then nokia maps needs to have this feature as it is very useful.

1. Display goes off when call/SMS/email receives. It happens more often with calls. However the call will not get disconnected and can speak till the caller disconnects.
2. After restarting of the phone there is no hint of call/SMS received when the phone was in display blank
3. I cannot pair with my windows 7 laptop via Bluetooth
4. I cannot receive any business card and not hint of reception of the same
I have just got an E72. On my old Nokias it was possible to view the contact list with both the name and number of each contact when looking at the contact list i.e. When sending a SMS. Is it possible on the E72 to display the number too? At the moment all I can see is the name. I have had a quick look around the menus and couldn't find it anywhere.

If there is a field with a company name in it, suppose this would be a must to have an option to choose how to display contact when incoming call, i.e. just name or name with a company name.
View 2 Replies View RelatedJust went to a local Rogers store here in Canada to buy a new Nokia Lumia 900 with my friend.I noticed the grey software keyboard of the 900 seems "pinker" than my 800 keyboard, that and some other things.I also noticed the hardware buttons backlight on the 900 seems to be more "yellow" and they are pure white on my 800. Yellow backlights doesnt look as good as the pure white backlight hardware buttons on my 800 in my opinion.

View 12 Replies View RelatedSince the OS update for the 920, the "display+touch" feature does not work properly. When I tap on it, the message "display+touch can't be opened. An app update may be available" is presented. I have attempted to update the app via QR but am presented with the message "share." I have done few soft resets but the problem persists. I have asked for help in other forums, but the issue remains. Is it possible that a future "display+touch" update may solve the problem? In lieu of that, can someone offer another suggestion? I would hate to do a hard reset and end up with a "bricked" phone.
View 6 Replies View RelatedCant understand why the backup to PC of vital Lumia phone information such as contacts, calendar and messges can not be easily and quickly achieved as with the Nokia suite and N8. I believe it is synced automatically to Sky-drive but I cannot find evidence of this. I would like to have control of this data for easy retrieval and stored on my PC. Windows phone software on my PC is sub standard in comparison with Nokia Suite. It is clunky, contacts cannot be backed up, photos have no picture reference when transferred and the overall Windows Phone software on my PC is second rate in contrast to the Windows Phone 8 phone experience. Can anyone enlighten me on how I can easily copy my contacts to PC. No problem getting contacts into the phone. Just unclear on how to get a copy of them out.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWheni connect to WIFI to browse the inrenet, it works fine, and always has done. But when i use the browser and my network settings to connect, it is fine but only for a few days or a week. Now and again i get a problem where the browser wont display anyweb pages! All the settings are in correctly, and nothing gets adjusted, i even get the Hor 3G symbol to show me that i am actually infact connected to the internet, but a blank page just keeps coming up saying Try refreshing the browser or try again later.. This has happened to me twice now, and the only way of fixing theproblem is by reseting factory settings which is very annoying! ive tried deleting browsing history,and tried other websites to access too but nothing seems to work. Is this a fault, well i guess it must be but has anyone else had the same problem? wouldreally like to know as imreally thinking about selling this phone if it continues to play up..........
