For some reason my volume down button now acts like the power button... I.e. I press it and it toggles the lock screen.
And I don't see any settings for that. Seems like the hardware buttons are broken... Need a repair?
On my Lumia 950, it will reset when I hold down the power button for 10 seconds but this should only happen when holding down both the volume down button and the power button at the same time. My Lumia 920, which is also running build 10.0.10586.29, can have just the power button held down and once I swipe away the power off prompt, it works normally and stays on just like I want.I would like to use my Qi enabled car mount but it needs to push down on the power button, causing it to constantly restart.

View 3 Replies View RelatedYesterday the volume down button and power button started not working. This has happened before and usually if I turn it off and on again the problem is fixed. That's not working this time. The power button works about 2/3rds of the time and the down volume button won't work at all, it sometimes even lowers the volume by itself. Because of this problem, whenever I turn the phone off and on again it brings me to the fastboot page and puts my phone on safemode, which I can't get out of. I've tried taking the battery out and putting it back in, doing a factory data reset, and using recovery mode.

My nexus 5 after some random reboots on latest cataclysm rom started to have a problem that power and volume button were not working at all. I have done everything and even flashed it all back to stock with no luck. The power and volume buttons work perfectly in bootloader mode but dont work in recovery or in the rom.

The best product to date i have used for tracking my gym session.I have noticed that everytime i press the power button, the volume increase and the music section starts ups. Very hard to track my gym work majority of the time as it stops the start button to work.I have updated to the latest version, no change in behaviour.Powering off is not an option as it automatically goes into bootloader mode, very hard to get it out of bootloader mode.

I pin mine on the right hand side right near where the power button is located. Easy to tap quickly. Touch and Lock | Windows Phone Apps+Games Store (United States).There are other touch lock apps but some have a pause or splash screen before locking. Touch and Lock is instantaneous.

Also all of my quick toggles disappeared from my notification center. Just left blank grey spaces. Tried setting them up again, but no go, still blank spaces. Restarted phone and that didn't work. Hard reset is completely out of the question.

Just as soon as this posted the toggles were back. Not sure what happened there.
My Nokia Lumia 1520 power button has suddenly stopped working. Things I have already tried are soft reset and hard reset without luck. I don't have the chive app installed which was supposed to cause this issue sometime ago. Also, I can do a soft reset - which means the power button works in some situations, just not with normal on/off operation.

This doesn't happen often, but often enough that I have to do a soft reset several times to correct the problem. Even then, it's still not 100% responsive. I'm on the latest DP and still having this issue.

When I pull the battery out, and leave it out for whatever length of time (I tried 10-20 min), as soon as the battery is back in, it turns itself on.As of the last few days, it has decided than when I place it on a table, or sometimes just getting moved around in my pocket, it wants to restart...

My phone came up with a message asking if i wanted to update to the new software so clicked ok, it seemed to be taking ages and then suddenly went off. Now when holding down the power button and the home button it is still not working and wont restore?

Okay, so no big deal I can retype but then it freezes on the White & Blue Nokia screen (no handshake).I tried shut it down, didn't respond. I took out the battery as the last resort.I put the battery back and tried to restart again. Unfortunately now I can't turn it back on. Pressing POWER button triggers vibra, but the screen remains dark and nothing happens after that.
I tried removing the batteries, plugged it in the wall, removed SIM card, I also tried hard reset key combination suggested in in this thread (Volume Down + Camera Key + Menu Key and press power button).
On a general note, the phone was freezing a lot. I noticed that especially when trying to connect to my work wlan (not very stable hot spot).
My volume button broke! I can increase the volume of my music but i cant decrease it! What can I do?PS I listen to music a lot so i need the button to work?

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy buttons seemed to have stopped working properly. In order to adjust the volume using the side button, I have to shut down the phone and then restart it. It will work for a while and then stops working and I have to go thru the process again. The home button just works whenever it wants. It doesn't fix the problem when I restart the phone. I can slide my finger in a circle around the button and it still doesn't work.
