I am a mac user and I have just bought a Lumia 800. Installed Windows Phone 7 Connector that sync only images and music, but how to keep synchronized the more important stuff:
1. my calendar: iCal
2. my contacts
Directly form Mac to Lumia 800?
Entries from my iPhone (v. 5.1) are not syncing to my iCal using iTunes. If I then enter the info into iCal I end up with duplicate entries on my phone.

When I first heard that Symbian^3 on the N8 would support multiple calendars I was under the impression that I finally could sync all my iCal calendars with my N8. But I just can't get this feature to work (iSync plug-in version is 2.0).
Calendar entries made on my Mac still show up under the "PC Suite" calendar on the N8.
Cant understand why the backup to PC of vital Lumia phone information such as contacts, calendar and messges can not be easily and quickly achieved as with the Nokia suite and N8. I believe it is synced automatically to Sky-drive but I cannot find evidence of this. I would like to have control of this data for easy retrieval and stored on my PC. Windows phone software on my PC is sub standard in comparison with Nokia Suite. It is clunky, contacts cannot be backed up, photos have no picture reference when transferred and the overall Windows Phone software on my PC is second rate in contrast to the Windows Phone 8 phone experience. Can anyone enlighten me on how I can easily copy my contacts to PC. No problem getting contacts into the phone. Just unclear on how to get a copy of them out.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIt is not possible to upload an ICAL or ICS entry directly into the calendar. Calendar should recognize the mime type for a calendar entry so that if a Weblink is clicked (such as an air or hotel reservation), it can instantly be loaded in to the calendar. Similarly, if an email arrives with an ICS attrachment, it should also be recognized.
If one cannot sync (i.e. using Linux), one should be able to transfer an ICS or ICAL event to the device an click on the file from within the 5800 and have the entry added to calendar. I can transfer to the device. Just cannot automatically import entries to calendars.

I have a website that is managed through Google, so my calendar and contacts and email are all through Google.
I want my iPhone 5s and Google contacts to be synced, so that when I add anything to my iPhone, it shows up in my Google contacts. Also, if I add to my Google contacts online, it shows on my iPhone. Very simple. Â
I have followed the standard instructions many times. It works, sometimes.
For example, right now there are a number of contacts on my iCloud account that are not appearing on my Google contacts. I don't know how to get everything to work together.Â

I'm using a Blackberry Torch 9800 with 2 main email addresses (both gmails) being sync to it wirelessly. I created a contact from my phone (in gmail account 1) and keyed in the fields of the contacts including the birthdays. However, when I checked my calendars, the birthday entries were created under my gmail account 2 rather than my gmail account 1 which is supposed to be the case. I would like to keep my entries on gmail account 1 private as I use the other account for work purposes which is shared to a group of people.

Contacts seems to work fine, add a contact on either, and it almost immediately shows on the other device?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI downloaded the new software for my iPhone 4S, it has stopped syncing my calendar and contacts with my home Outlook. Any new contacts or events I enter into Outlook won't show up on my phone and any new contacts or events I enter in my phone won't show up with Outlook. I use the USB port to sync every few days with my computer. Nothing has been erased, i.e. all my old events and contacts are still there, but nothing new will add. I have not changed any settings on my phone or on itunes, and I even turned off the overall calendar option and selected single calendars to try, but to no avail.

Since I updated my iphone 4 with the software for iphone 4s my ical on my imac won't synch with my iphone calendar. Also events are duplicated. I have to check both calendars to ensure I don't miss any events and have to physically re enter them separately into the different calendars.

I was able to send skype messages get skype messages, but most importantly I was able to see if my contact is also in my Skype account or not. Now with my 950XL although many people are also my Skype friends I cannot see Skype option in their regular SMS threads, a different thread with different name pops up when they send a message, but I cannot link that contact name with their "REAL CONTACT CARD". It is really weird that a feature works better on a Beta version than the RTM version on the Flagship phone.

I easily added my gmail account and got the contacts and its calendar. However, there is another calendar that is not associated with an email account that is an ICAL calendar that I would to sync. I use an iPhone 3GS as well as a desktop Mac (10.5.8).Whenever I sync these two devices, I never had a problem.I used a wire to do it and it was fine. Lately, however,I have definitely had problems. I connect the two devices and though it looks like it's going through the whole syncing process, it never syncs the iPhone calendar with iCal.This may not be germain, but lately I have also been getting an error message on my Mac that says Microsoft Office synching is not working. I know that should not concern Apple devised, but it just seems a little too coiincidental to me that right when I have problems syncing Apple products, I get an error message about the syncing of Microsft products.
