I am looking for an alternative to iCloud so that I can sync my iCal and Address Book Contacts with my iPhone 4.I curently have Snow Leopard and do not plan on upgrading to Lion because of the loss of Expose.Since that means I lose my cloud syncing capabilities,I wondered if anyone can recommend an alternative to iCloud other than hard-syncing my iPhone to my computer on a daily basis.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Imac (10.6.8) and a Iphone running ver 5.01. I also have Goofle sync installed. For some reason my iCal has stopped syncing back and forth between the to devices. Contacts seems to work fine, add a contact on either, and it almost immediately shows on the other device?
Is it best to update to the latest version on my Imac to take advantage of syncing through the cloud? If I am correct, with version 10.6.8, I can not sync through my icloud account, correct?

Items I've added to the calendar on my iPhone 3GS (running IOS 5.1.1) won't sync to iCal on my Mac. It works fine the other way around (from iCal to iPhone).

Since I updated my iphone 4 with the software for iphone 4s my ical on my imac won't synch with my iphone calendar. Also events are duplicated. I have to check both calendars to ensure I don't miss any events and have to physically re enter them separately into the different calendars.

I am a mac user and I have just bought a Lumia 800. Installed Windows Phone 7 Connector that sync only images and music, but how to keep synchronized the more important stuff:
1. my calendar: iCal
2. my contacts
Directly form Mac to Lumia 800?
When I first heard that Symbian^3 on the N8 would support multiple calendars I was under the impression that I finally could sync all my iCal calendars with my N8. But I just can't get this feature to work (iSync plug-in version is 2.0).
Calendar entries made on my Mac still show up under the "PC Suite" calendar on the N8.
I find that if I enter something on Outlook (using Windows), an entry in the Contacts or in the Calendar, it does sync with my ipad/iphone. But when I enter on the ipad/iphone, it does not sync with Outlook at all. I have resorted to emailing myself and then entering it when I'm at the computer. I've read here on the forums and tried various things but it doesn't seem to work.

My Contacts are not syncing to iPhone after making lots (200 - 300) edits in Address Book on my MBP. The edits do not appear on the iPhone. It's asthough the data is not even recognised. I've r=tried resetting sync history in iSync prefs, as well clicking on 'replacing data for next sync only' option in iTunes. No success.

After several years of easily syncing my BlackBerry Curve 8530 to my Mac, I suddenly can't do it. I get the following error message: The Address Book database cannot be accessed for synchronization. For help resolving this issue, refer to KB19454 in the BlackBerry Desktop Software Knowledge Base.I can't find KB19454 in the database. I can't find a way to call BlackBerry to resolve this. My Sprint store won't touch my Mac (and vice versa).
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe first smartphone I got was the iPhone...The first iPhone that existed pretty much... I liked it but then I started a Telecom company and since we were partnered with Telus and I wanted to get paid a percentage of my bill, I switched over to the Blackberry WORLD PHONE...8830 if I'm not mistaken. I had a lot of issues with that phone and went through 9 of them until I got tired of it and switched back to the solid iPhone.Since then I got a Mac and my address book syncs with my phone. One of the only things stopping me right now from switching to the Blackberry 9900 is a question really.
#1. Can I sync my MAC address book with the Bold 9900?
#2. When I port over my 1650 contacts to my new phone, will all the notes and birthdays go with it..If it can't be done, I guess it's iPhone 5.
Curve 8530 on Verizon Wireless Access to Corporate resources and email via BESI also access Gmail from the deviceRight now I am not synching over the air - that has never worked. I'm using Desktop Manager, and recently downgraded to Version 5.01. When I connect the device and configure for Address Book sync the application starts the process, then craps out without synching. I've rebooted the PC, reloaded the application without success.

I never had this problem until I downloaded the new desktop software. I can't update my contacts from Outlook 2003 to my phone. Calendar, Memopad and Tasks sync fine.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble syncing all of my contacts from my Samsung Galaxy S5 to my new 2015 Chevy Malibu. When I pair the devices it will ask me on my phone if the car has permission to access my contacts and I'll say yes. When I go into the phonebook on the car or try to voice dial by a name it only pulls 10ish contacts from my phone. I've tried re-pairing, turning off wifi and re-pairing, making sure 4g is on and re-pairing to no avail. Again.

Data from iCal goes from Mac to iPhone but not the other way. This is a new phenomenon as it has always worked in the past, so I am certain that I set it up to merge originally, but I don't know how to check that it hasn't been reset somehow nor how to correct it. I have to start entering stuff manually twice.

There are a million timer aps, and project management apps, and other variations on time logs. But I have been unable to find one that does precisely what I want to do. Start a timer on my iPhone when I begin work on a discrete project. Stop the timer when I stop work.Have an iCal entry created on my iPhone calendar which indicates that block of time. I do NOT need to manage a large number of projects, create complex reports, do billing, or anything like that. I am just looking for a way to be able to open iCal and get a visual assessment of when and how much time I am actually devoting to three-five priority areas.
Here is what I have been able to find and do NOT want:Manually creating iCal entries with start and stop times, that the app can then aggregate and report time spent.A timer that creates a separate log or standalone calendar - completely removed from iCal.
If I start working on a goal area at 3:15pm and stop 90 minutes later, I want to be able to start the timer. Stop the timer. And have an iCal entry that starts at 3:15pm and ends at 4:45pm automatically created in iCal.

I was trying to create a sub folder in my address book & now I can't find my original add book. The add book icon is still there, but there are no contacts in it. The best i remember i hit filter and chose business & typed in a name for what i thought would be a new folder or group. i'm not sure what happened, but I can't see any of my contacts. I have switched from personl to business & back again & it says "no contacts" on both. But if I go to email & put in a letter all of my old contacts that begin with that letter show up. & my speed dials still work. But if i go to sms/mms & do compose sms it shows "No Addresses"....well I spoke too soon...now if i go to email & type in a letter it don't show a list of ppl that begin with that letter.... I have tried taking the battery out with the phone off & on & it's still the same....
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo, the other day my mother accidentally erased all of her events in iCal on her Mac. She still had them all on her iPhone, so she tried to sync it with her Mac to undo the deletions. But it did the opposite; all of her events were lost on her phone. Luckily, I was able to restore her back-up onto her iPhone. So I need to know if there is a way to sync the events (one-way) from the phone onto the Mac.
