Mar 14, 2012Entries from my iPhone (v. 5.1) are not syncing to my iCal using iTunes. If I then enter the info into iCal I end up with duplicate entries on my phone.

Apr 7, 2012I have a Imac (10.6.8) and a Iphone running ver 5.01. I also have Goofle sync installed. For some reason my iCal has stopped syncing back and forth between the to devices. Contacts seems to work fine, add a contact on either, and it almost immediately shows on the other device?
Is it best to update to the latest version on my Imac to take advantage of syncing through the cloud? If I am correct, with version 10.6.8, I can not sync through my icloud account, correct?

Mar 11, 2012Since I updated my iphone 4 with the software for iphone 4s my ical on my imac won't synch with my iphone calendar. Also events are duplicated. I have to check both calendars to ensure I don't miss any events and have to physically re enter them separately into the different calendars.

May 3, 2012I use an iPhone 3GS as well as a desktop Mac (10.5.8).Whenever I sync these two devices, I never had a problem.I used a wire to do it and it was fine. Lately, however,I have definitely had problems. I connect the two devices and though it looks like it's going through the whole syncing process, it never syncs the iPhone calendar with iCal.This may not be germain, but lately I have also been getting an error message on my Mac that says Microsoft Office synching is not working. I know that should not concern Apple devised, but it just seems a little too coiincidental to me that right when I have problems syncing Apple products, I get an error message about the syncing of Microsft products.

Jun 25, 2014I am not able to sync the calendar on my iPhone 5s to ical on my mac running OS 10.7.5. Things I've entered on the iPhone calendar won't transfer over to ical, but syncing does seem to work the other way. I've tried some of the fixes suggested (deleting the sync file using Terminal, toggling on and off the different calendar options, etc) but nothing seems to fix it.

However, there is another calendar that is not associated with an email account that is an ICAL calendar that I would to sync. I can not figure out how to configure that sync. Dec 9, 2015I'm struggling to get my boyfriend's ical invites (sent from his iPhone) on to my Samsung calendar - via Hotmail and Gmail.
I've just got the s6, before I had the s4, and we must have figured out some workaround as he'd email me on my Hotmail account, and I could "Preview" then "import" the event with success.
When he sends me invites now, they come through as ical invites, that I can 'accept', but it takes me to an icloud account - for which I don't know if I have any logins/details!! What icloud account am I accepting these invites into?!
Any apps that will translate the stupid ical events into something else, or does he need to do something differently on his side?

Apr 6, 2010It is not possible to upload an ICAL or ICS entry directly into the calendar. Calendar should recognize the mime type for a calendar entry so that if a Weblink is clicked (such as an air or hotel reservation), it can instantly be loaded in to the calendar. Similarly, if an email arrives with an ICS attrachment, it should also be recognized.
If one cannot sync (i.e. using Linux), one should be able to transfer an ICS or ICAL event to the device an click on the file from within the 5800 and have the entry added to calendar. I can transfer to the device. Just cannot automatically import entries to calendars.

Feb 10, 2010I'm gonna try and explain this as simply as possible (as it's for my dad, so I'll have to explain it to him the same way)! My dad likes using the native IPhone 3G calendar for keeping his appointments. However, he doesn't use the calendar in Outlook, so when he needs to enter something into the IPhone calendar, he has to do it right on the phone.
What he'd like to do is be able to enter the info into a PC-based calendar via the keyboard (he says it's much faster because of the amount of info he's entering), and then have it sync the info into the IPhone calendar. Again, He does not use outlook calendar. So what I'm basically asking is this is there a PC-based calendar program that he could use that would then allow ITunes to sync his PC-based calendar to his IPhone calendar?
