I was thinking of buying a new N8 but have a Mac (still have an old iPhone). Is it possible to sync the N8 with the contacts of my address book, my music and my ical?
View 19 RepliesI am looking for an alternative to iCloud so that I can sync my iCal and Address Book Contacts with my iPhone 4.I curently have Snow Leopard and do not plan on upgrading to Lion because of the loss of Expose.Since that means I lose my cloud syncing capabilities,I wondered if anyone can recommend an alternative to iCloud other than hard-syncing my iPhone to my computer on a daily basis.

So, the other day my mother accidentally erased all of her events in iCal on her Mac. She still had them all on her iPhone, so she tried to sync it with her Mac to undo the deletions. But it did the opposite; all of her events were lost on her phone. Luckily, I was able to restore her back-up onto her iPhone. So I need to know if there is a way to sync the events (one-way) from the phone onto the Mac.

I easily added my gmail account and got the contacts and its calendar. However, there is another calendar that is not associated with an email account that is an ICAL calendar that I would to sync. I can not figure out how to configure that sync. I was syncing both calendars iwth the Google Sync before.

I use an iPhone 3GS as well as a desktop Mac (10.5.8).Whenever I sync these two devices, I never had a problem.I used a wire to do it and it was fine. Lately, however,I have definitely had problems. I connect the two devices and though it looks like it's going through the whole syncing process, it never syncs the iPhone calendar with iCal.This may not be germain, but lately I have also been getting an error message on my Mac that says Microsoft Office synching is not working. I know that should not concern Apple devised, but it just seems a little too coiincidental to me that right when I have problems syncing Apple products, I get an error message about the syncing of Microsft products.

I am not able to sync the calendar on my iPhone 5s to ical on my mac running OS 10.7.5. Things I've entered on the iPhone calendar won't transfer over to ical, but syncing does seem to work the other way. I've tried some of the fixes suggested (deleting the sync file using Terminal, toggling on and off the different calendar options, etc) but nothing seems to fix it.

I just bought a Nokia 5530 Xpress Music and tried out syncing my phone's files using Ovi Suite so I can easily retrieve them if ever they get deleted when I update my phone's firmware. When I synced my files, everything else worked fine except for the music files and these are the following problems I encountered: Ovi Suite did not only copy my phone's music files to my pc, it also copied all the music files of my pc to my phone at the same time. This shouldn't happen right? Because I'm only trying to sync my phone's files to my computer, and not transfer files from my computer to my phone so it should only copy all the songs in my 5530 to Ovi Suite.

I wanted to put music on my phone so i went out and bought a micro sd card and tried to load music onto it using a usb to connect to my phone. I've tried literally just about everything. I switched over to USB Mass Storage mode and created a music folder and etc, etc,. But even after i put a couple of songs on the thing my phone still says there's nothing there. I also tried doing the Nokia Ovi Suite thing and apparently my phone model isn't compatible with it. I'm completely surprised by the lack of support from the manufacturing website.

Also, Ovi doen't delete my music on my Nokia N8 phone (I thought maybe that will enable sync option again?) I press delete it opens up the thing where it says it is deleting and then when I refresh all my music just comes back!

I've just downloaded some songs from the Ovi Player Store with the voucher I was given from the phone; they downloaded and play on the Ovi player fine. However every time I try to sync the new songs to my phone, I either get the message 'Operation Failed: unable to copy tracks', or my phone turns off and restarts itself...
I have added music to my phone before and that worked fine but doesn't seem to be working this time. Any ideas on what is wrong or am I making a visit to the shop?
